general problems of the 2015 Chrysler 200 - part 2

To whom it may concern I have a 2015 Chrysler 200. When I drive the car sometimes when I start it up it kinda don't want to start. Then it finally does. It will stall when driving when I come to a stop the car will died battery light comes on steering wheel gets tight and car just stops. I will have to cost and pull over to the side. Then I will start it back up and it still dont really wanna start back up. The red battery light comes on when it dies . . . . The car will start back up but with issues.

The vehicle would cut off causing me to swerve to the side of the road to avoid an accident. It would stall while driving which also caused issues. Then it would just not start and once taken to the dealership on three separate occasions was told there was nothing wrong with the vehicle.

I went to start my car this morning and it wouldn't start so I used jumper cables and it started but it was in neutral and won't change gears.

My son was in a car accident, he went off of the road, and totaled my car, the airbags did not deploy. I bought this car brand new in Jan,2015, and had a couple of recalls to get it fixed for certain parts. Also I was having surge problems with this car.

In the morning I was backing into a parking spot while slightly turning and the car started acting up and then died. Wouldn't start with start button. After placing the remote next to start button and waiting a bit I was able to start it up after a few tries. Finished parking. After work, I was driving home and was waiting to turn and do uturn and the car once more died. Not sure if I was completely stopped or inching forward while waiting for incoming traffic to clear. Tried starting it up again the same ways as in morning. The car wouldn't start. After standing 5 minutes in a turning lane, I got it to start. Finished the drive home worrying. Also while driving, time from time, all of the dashboard flicker and then go completely dark. After a few minutes, they come back on. That is speed, rpm, gas level, engine temperature, and all other dashboard lights. Causes distraction while driving and also results in me being unable to see speed the car is traveling at.

Car shuts off while braking, and turns everything off. It also �locks� the brake, and takes minutes to release. When this happens all lights turn off, push to start won't work, and engine will not start. The car cuts off at the most inopportune times, and makes driving extremely dangerous. It's been shutting off more frequently, and for longer moments at a time. This usually occurs on street's but has occurred in two drive-thrus. On one occasion the car shut off mid-turn. Again this makes driving incredibly dangerous, and is frustrating and inconvenient. This is my only means of transportation so driving has become a risk.

Vehicle randomly shuts off while vehicle is in motion when I decelerate. This typically happens when I'm going low speeds about 25-20mph. I've brought my vehicle in for servicing 2x for this same issue and it continues to happen.

My dealership have not returned my multiple calls about fixing the recall.

Fuel pressure sensor.

The car stalls out intermittently. I will be driving down a city road and the car just looses power and then stalls out. After the car has stalled it does not want to start again unless it is jump started or battery is disconnected and the reconnected.

The car just shut off while at a stop sigh.

On November 21, 2020, the 7th day I purchased my car from car max, I drove my car from TX to ar. Nearly halfway to ar the dashboard lights started flickering and went off and on several times. I could not believe it has it during the day time. Once I arrived in ar, the dashboard continued to flicker but there were no error messages on the dashboard to indicate a problem. Later that night, I drove to the store and in the store parking lot the car quit on me after the lights flickered several times!!! I am livid! I have a 5-year old daughter in the car with me! what if the car stops on the highway? why hasn't Chrysler fixed this issue? I'm just now reading about this issues with numerous car owners!!! I desire to have this investigated and fixed immediately! if something we're to happened to my child and I would that not be horrible? things like this should not exists as this is dangerousssssss!!! our lives are at stake and I do not appreciate that!.

The vehicle stalls without any warning. It just started doing this on Nov, 13 and has continued doing this as of today. It is an intermittent power loss. I called bergstrom Chrysler dealership in oshkosh who told me that I would have to pay $130. 00 for the diagnostic. They said that the recall was closed and not covered. We are a non-emergency medical transportation company. We provide rides for disabled people. What is happening with our vehicle is a safety issue. We would like this addressed as soon as possible. Car not wanting to turn over when trying to start without jumping. Had battery and alternator checked both are fine and starter was replaced no more than maybe a year ago. This is daily and if sits throughout day. Lights and everything interior turn on and it acts like it wants to turn over just not enough power. Also replaced battery in key fob. Started happening within last month.

Car jerks, loses speed when taking off, may stall when when taking off this car does this when car is taking off, after sitting at light and has done so on highway causing possible fatal incidents. This is a consistant issue.

The vehicle started slowing down while I was driving to a stop and displayed the message �shift to p to start�. I then put the car into park and tried to start it, it took two tries to start the car after it seemed to be struggling to start before finally starting on the 3 rd time. Then in the time span of me driving the two minutes back home it started to try and stop again.

For the past several months I have been having issues with my car starting. There are no indicators that theres any issue with the vehicle. It just takes about several seconds to get a crank in order for the car to come on. I have taken it to get it looked at to see what the cause of the problem was. No issues with the battery or starter. I had the spark plugs changed with an oil change and still the same issue. Since then for the past few days upon my initial start for the day my car has shut off on me while driving down the residential road less then a mile in it stops out of nowhere locks the car up so im unable to stir the car and tells me to part the car in park. After that im unable to get the car to start again after several attempts then it'll finally crank back up after putting the key flob next to the push start button. What is going on with my car. This is dangerous thank god I wasnt on the highway nor where cars behind me. I have checked for recalls on my car and its not indicating any for mine in particular but there are recalls on 2015 Chrysler 200 models. My car isnt under warranty and has over 100 thousand miles.

Shortly after driving the vehicle after start up, it stalls and begins to quickly slow down. No warning lights, or check engine light. Once you get it stopped and restart it, it does the same thing about 3-7 miles down the road. Then it won't do it at all for the rest of the day. This has caused dangerous situations. No codes to go on for a possible problem. This model has han many many complaints for this same problem, and I believe recalled before for it, but a check of recalls for this VIN shows no un-repaired recalls. I do not know what to do at this point. Vehicle has just under 60,000 miles and is in very good condition. Dealer has stated that without codes showing up, and or witnessing the problem they really can't do anything about it. This has happened during busy traffic and caused cars to almost hit me from behind when mine stalls and slows down from no power. Luckily I have been in areas that have a shoulder to move onto. I honestly do not think I am being told everything about this problem from the dealership, because from researching it on line, I have found thousands of complaints this very same problem, and nobody seams to have a clear answer for it that I can find. I really need help with this. Thank you.

My vehicle had trouble starting. When I finally started it, I was unable to shift gears, the transmission was acting weird.

The catalytic converter is defective. There is an active lawsuit pending regarding recall but my VIN is not included.

Car randomly accelerates on it's own. Typically when I am trying to come to a stop. Happened to the mechanic when he test drove it. Did not know what to do about it. Service airbag light also on for seemingly no reason.

A light is on that is called serv awd. I looked it up which means service the awd. I noticed it before I went to the dealership July 2020 for my yearly inspection and emissions sticker as required by my state. The dealership did not mention to me that the serv awd was on. I know that my awd is currently disabled.

On may 15, 2020 while attempting to back out of a parking spot at the post office my car dinged at me. The dash notification told me to pull over in safe spot, park car, and shift into park, and service shifter light came on. I was only 2 miles from my home so I proceeded home and called the dealership service center. I explained the issue and they told me to bring it in. I asked if it was okay to drive and they said yes. I scheduled to take it in the following morning. The mechanic looked at it and asked me if I had changed the transmission. No same transmission as was in it when I bought it. They tried telling me that the software did not match the transmission and needed a software update, which they did and allegedly retested it. Everything fine now they said. Yesterday, June 9, 2020, I was driving home from work and the car started dinging at me. The transmission light came on and dash notification to service transmission. The car starting losing power and did not want to move with the transmission wanting to shift into neutral. Came to stop light and car did not want to move. I had cars behind me that almost hit me because my car shifted to neutral. It started moving then shifted from drive to neutral. I was able to get it home (only 1 mile) and tried to back it into driveway. Dash said to shift into park and then desired gear so I did. Nothing!!!! it would not register reverse. I was in the middle of the street blocking an oncoming car. I was able to get it register neutral and it rolled back so the car could get past me. After turning the car off and back on it finally registered reverse and I got it in the driveway. Call dealership to tell them. They say no recall, nothing wrong. Seriously??? this is a recall issue even if my VIN isn't listed as they claim. The car shifts to neutral as you are driving down the road. Fix this issue and recall all of them.

Car randomly shuts off while driving and will either be able to turn back on or won't turn over at all for days. This has been happening multiple times. Brought it into the shop and was told it was the battery. Battery replaced issue is still happening. Very u safe.

While driving that various speeds, the vehicle jerks while the accelerator pedal is depressed but the vehicle fails to accelerate. Also I noticed the vehicle didn't come with rubber on the accelerator pedal it was completely metal and my foot was sliding while driving so I contacted the dealership and tried to get it replaced but they said that is was a cost saving issue and there was nothing they could do about it since none of the cars came with this so I purchased a stainless steel pedal cover kit but I'm still having issues while driving with the accelerator on this vehicle while on the freeway because it hard accelerator at high speeds without the grip of the rubber.

The car is not going into gear without it jerking. . . And my airbags wont go off on my dashboard.

My car stalls and shuts down with no warning at all while driving. It has stalled on me while driving on the expressway and I have had to pull over and put it in park and restart it which takes about 30 seconds to kick in. This happens repeatedly every morning before going to work. I will let it run for a minute and then drive off but it will still stall once I pull up to the stop sign. This is very dangerous and scary. I am afraid it may stall and I may get hit from behind. I have contacted the manufacture for a recall but they do not have on out there. The alternator has been checked but the nothing shows anything wrong.

Car will not start. Prompts warning engine please wait to start vehicle. Many other owners are having the same problem with no cause of why.

My car will lose power as I am driving. I have to stop and shut it off then restart the car and it drives fine. Also valve cover gasket leaking oil. The shop guys said he use to work for Chrysler and this is a very common issue in Chrysler 200 & 300. Also a few other Chrysler vehicles. If this is a problem it should be fixed and not continue to use the same parts.

Loss of power which causes vehicle to stall without warning. 30% oil and full tank of gas. The battery light comes on and the car stalls as I apply the brake to slow down at a stop. This has happened 4 separate occasions.

When I attempt to turn my car on, I receive a message that says engine warming please wait to start. I wait a few minutes and it's turns on. While driving today it turned off in the middle of the street and when I would attempt to start it I would get the same message. Car would not start at all.

Several times while driving my car the engine had completely shut off stopping me in traffic. Once I was trying to make a turn, twice I was stuck in a busy intersection, I turned on my hazard lights each time. Everytime the lights for the gears was flashing back n forth between the gears. . I turned the car off waited awhile, every-time I became a sitting duck. I'm afraid I'm going to be killed in this car. Hopefully this car is a recall. Below I listed the most recent date.

I have been noticing that the passanger side interior of the car is soaked. This has been happening for a while now and I can not figure out where the liquid is coming from. It gets soaked from the front all the way to the back.

Over the last 3-4 days my 2015 Chrysler 200 has been very unpredictable, leaving my self and my family afraid and unable to drive it. Several times, while in motion on a main highway and on a a city street (x3) my vehicle has completely jolted me to a stop, either shutting down or saying I was in p instead of drive. Obviously, I had started and shifted to drive to get from point a to my "shut down" location, which leaves me confused on why it would say I was in park all of the sudden. No, my emergency break was not on. Also, it also seems as if it was try sticking in either d3 or d4 gears randomly from time to time over the last week. I was helped by 3 officers to get my vehicle pushed and moved back to my residence. This last incident occurred while trying to break at a stop light. I am unsure of the components causing these problems so I am listing them as unknown. I have reviewed 8 recalls pertaining 2015 Chrysler 200s but am unsure of a recall number I would list.

The emergency break cuts on for no reason. The car stalls after stopping. The car cut off while I was driving one time. My car would not start (lights, alarm were on) but the engine would not start.
