general problems of the 2015 Chrysler 200 - part 1

Hi my name is [xxx] I am submitting this form because on [xxx] my 2015 chyler caught on fire on [xxx] in vidalia louisiana I was leaving from where I live in ferriday louisiana that’s probably 10 minutes from where I live I only had the car for 5 years I paid 22000 dollars for that car and every since I had that car I had problems I bought it from a deal ship in woodville mississippi from a car lot called wildcats I was over charge . . Please help information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

I had just purchased my vehicle on 03/06/2024. A few days after purchasing my vehicle, the check engine light came on. I took it to autozone to get the check engine light code read and see what the issue was. The code showed a cylinder 4 misfire. I purchased and replaced replaced the spark plugs, egnition coils, a sensor and cleaner for fuel injectors and throttle body. After I replaced the different parts, it was still showing the check engine light. I took it to bi o tires and they had the code read and told me it had a cylinder 4 misfire. They told me to take it to tunex because they were not able to fix it there. I took it to tunex and they did a diagnostic to see the reason it was misfiring and told me that the car wasn't misfiring and that the vehicle was fine. They turn the check engine light off and after a couple of days the check engine light came on. I took it to the Chrysler dealership to get it checked, they told me that they were going to check it and fix a recall issue on it, and that if the check engine light came on, they didn't know what to do. The check engine light is back on.

Put a full tank of gas in car and when I got home I noticed that there was a fuel leak on the tank.

Car stalls when starting from a stop. If the outside air temperature is below 50 degrees f, it seems worse. There are no warning lights, no codes. . . It just stalls out. It will usually start after trying once (it takes at least 20-30 seconds of trying to start before it does). I was pulling from a redlight to a 4 lane road when it stalled. I had no where to go. When I first purchased the car, I took it to the dealership 3 times, they said it was a transmission problem at first, then spark plugs, and the third time they couldn't find anything. September 30th was the last time this has happened, but not the first. If I start the car 15 minutes before driving, it doesn't seem as bad.

At 130,000 miles a oil leak became very noticeable. The rear main oil seal was destroyed. Due to the oil leak the front belly pan(68102931ab) became a dangerous hazard. The front belly pan became completely soaked in oil and was dragging under the car. Once the car was taken apart by the tech it was discovered that the oil cooling house (68105583af) was cracked.

Lights keep popping up on the dash but disappear. No one can figure out why the car pretty much shuts down when you take go to accelerate it shudders extremely hard and doesn’t go.

After getting a tune-up, the car now runs worse than it did before, the car idles with a very intense vibration, I took it to a local mechanic who informed me that this model has a recall on the electronic throttle control and for me to take the car back to where I had the tune-up done. I have an appointment on Monday the 13.

There have been recalls to other Chrysler 200 for these reasons. I am having issues with all of these and no recall. Steering linkage or strut issue the electrical goes out on the dash and console of the car. Cannot use air or any of the buttons warning light to check gas cap power terrain was fixed once and it came back the same way tire pressure also not working.

We replaced a fuel injector on the 2nd cylinder last February in our Chrysler 2015 200s. We bought it brand new. Here it is 11 months later we are replacing the fuel injector on the 6th cylinder. I talk with someone at fca and he gave me the run around, referring me to warranties and not really trying to help and of course denying that there is a problem with the fuel injectors in that particular car. I know there can be issues with injectors if you do not service them, which we got the service, but shorting out; there is a problem. The car is 5 years old and shouldn't have fuel injector problems; shorting out especially. Anyone else having this issue? ## #vpic# 1 - check digit (9th position) does not calculate properly #vpic#.

The vehicle would cut off after starting & driving a very short distance then the check engine/flashing lightning bolt would come on. Once the car was off and then restarted, the lights would go off and it might run fine as long as you didn't accelerate too quickly & drove a good distance without having to stop and start a lot. The issue would arise more when driving short distances with constant stops & tight turns or sometimes when having to DE-accelerate quickly. Once the car was off for a second then restarted, the only light that would sometimes stay on would be the check engine light. Therefore, I took the car to an o�reillys for a free test & the only codes that came back was p0302 - cylinder 2 misfire & p2172 - throttle actuator control system. The issue had gotten worse so I had a mechanic replace all 4 spark plugs with ngk iridium plugs and the 2nd cylinder ignition coil with a bosch ignition coil. The cylinder 2 misfire code went away when restarting the vehicle but the main issue persists, the car won't stay on & the p2172 tacs code is still present. The vehicle is unsafe & unable to drive. The date I'm using for the question of when the issue happened is when I had the spark plugs and ignition coil replaced. The original issue started around the 2nd week of December somewhere between December 10th-December 14th.

My 2015 Chrysler 200 has been in the shop 20 times for multiple electronic issues and today I put my car in park and when I turned around my csr csmr out of psrk snd hit a poll.

When starting vehicle it would automatically turn off driving down the road coming to a stop light a stop sign it will just turn off and now it won't even start.

The contact stated that last month she drove her vehicle tothe gas station after she was done flling her vehilce she she tried to statr her vehicle it did not start. The contact stated that she then had the vehicle towed to her home where it still sitting. The contact stated that the dealer stated her vehicle is not under recall and she will have to pay for the repair.

Wants to shut off while driving, while accelerating and slowing down right before complete stop. Dashboard does not give error code. Dashboard told wife to put in (p) while in (d) going down road around 15-20mph and accelerating and I found same problem and complaint online on many websites. I thought it might be battery before my internet research, but after battery check, battery in perfect condition. Just started happening yesterday evening after vehicle not used in 5-6 days. Not everyday driver vehicle. Tune-up/oil changes up to date.

First I received the wheel sensor warning. Then the air bag warning. Then a vape leak issue, and now my dash lights are going completely out making it impossible to detect speed. My car has approximately 140,000. My vehicle is in motion when this electrical issue occurs. I have been on both a highway and interstate, and driving straight during the blackout. It has occurred multiple times in the last few days. The electrical issue may be related to this recall: Chrysler (fca us llc) is recalling certain model year 2015 Chrysler 200 vehicles manufactured January 7, 2014, to September 23, 2014. The affected vehicles may have a power distribution center (pdc) electrical connector that may cause intermittent power failures to certain electrical components.

On multiple occasions since I purchased my vehicle in 1/2018 I've experienced issues. When putting the vehicle in drive it wants to stall as soon as I press the gas and putters along until it gets enough energy and when trying to gain speed the vehicle doesn't have enough juice to go such as getting on the highway, I normally have to drive in the medium to get enough speed to move into the traffic otherwise I'm bound to get rear ended. The slightest bump in the road causes my airbag light and notification to come on. While pulling away from stop signs and traffic lights the vehicle turns off and takes about 5-10 minutes to start back up , unable to move steering wheel to move vehicle out of traffic. Lights on the inside ( dash, radio) dim extremely low during daylight unable to see anything. Ive left my vehicle with a Chrysler dealership for 2 weeks to get a diagnostic and they couldn't replicate or find anything wrong and still charged me. When the problems persisted and were more noticeable and more often they charged me again with no results. Now the check engine light is on and vehicle just staggers instead of gaining speed.

The car turns off while driving. Cuts off when slowing down to make turns. It will cut off at a red light. It stalls when trying to start it. Mostly when the air conditioner is running. Took it to the dealer paid over $900 and the problem still exsits.

The vehicle turns off while driving. Has happened many times. Have to pull over and restart the engine. It has happened numerous times and has no earning or earnings on dashboard. It happened today driving home in the rain.

My 2015 Chrysler 200 will just die while being driven. I started the car drove less than a mile when it turned off and coasted to a stop. I tried to restart the car but it just kept making noises, as I kept trying to get it to start it caused the battery to drain so low I had to call aaa . This seems to be a big problem as there are a ton of other people that have had this same issue!.

When I'm driving the vehicle after a few feet of driving the vehicle my car begins to to shake then it turns off, while I'm on the street. A lot of lights begin to turn on then my car turns off again. When I try to turn it off the transmission locks into neutral and won't let me turn it off. At some point once the lights turn on my speed begins to slow down, from going at 75 on the freeway it slowly start to decrease and when I hit the gas pedal it takes a while to pick up the speed. It's been like that for about a month.

My car keeps cutting off while driving. For the past 2 weeks I start my car let it run for 5 minutes. Then while I'm driving it cuts off. Today it cut off 12-15 times.

My transmission is telling me �performance shifting unavailable� shifting gears on own.

First problem: the car stalls and/or dies while driving. It did this while my daughter was driving and she had to pull over on the highway. I managed to get it started and drive it home but it would not go over 25 mph. The check engine light, the electronic throttle control light, and the traction control light (?) were all on. Second problem: there is a message to service airbag system comes on. I did some research and found other people wit the same problem. On the yellow wire box under the passenger seat, there was a black latch (?) that clicked when I squeezed. The message went away.

Vehicle looses power while driving; both on the interstate and country roads. Turns itself off. Transmission freezes between 4th and 6th gears. And won't shift, causing loss of power.

Turned car on and began to drive then car just turns off had to put in park and restart it doesn't just turn right back on it makes the sound as though it's try to catch then it turns on I drive a second or two then turns off again repeat what I already did then it finally turns on this has happened the first week I bought the car and 1 year 3 months later it has done the same thing 3 more times in a row three days in a row. I was leaving my home to work on waverunner in convers texas 78109. This happened as I was driving straight ahead then while turning onto stree OH grey canyon, then onto 1604 highway.

12/20/18 car won't start, used 3 newly model vehicles to jump still nothing. Basic mechanical work was preformed still nothing. Car accelerates but no physical mobility, I can drive vehicle with all doors open this model doesn't allow that because of a safety sensor. Car has over 13 codes you tube shows more.

South shore dealer in inwood NY performed a recall s55 but problem still exists car drops into neutral while driving, wanted a second opinion at garden city dealer they wouldnt even look at it to do a diagnosis to see if recall was actually done. All I want is the recall done and done properly.

I can be driving it down the road it will shut it’s self off. Will not start for about 15 to 20 minutes. This happend last night and when it did I was rear ended. When it does this the breaks lock up no matter how hard u push on them they won’t budge. Also it will try to start but the engine cranks at a really low speed but after awhile takes off. Also if you let it warm up it runs jus fine sometimes. Had it put on machine was told it was a map sensor replaced it and still got the same problem. Changed battery in key fob and car battery and still doing the same thing. Seen numerous people on here having the same issue. After replacing all that took to put back on a machine and was told I can’t help you cause it’s not throwing any codes what do I do I got a car that I still owe almost 14,000 dollars on that is unsafe to be driving. The car does this when it’s being driven can let set for hours and stays running but I can’t even make it 3 blocks without it dying and not starting back up for awhile. It’s pathetic as for the date at the bottom that says when did this happen I’ll put it like this it happens every time I try to go anywhere it should be recalled and properly fixed.

My airbag light comes on and off, most of the time it stays on though. Also, the car will die after driving and will stall while driving. It also appears that there are some sort of electrical issues with the car and the gears shift strange, sometimes throwing me forward while driving.

Active grill shutter error code. Ags shutters are easily broken, these shutters are not meant to withstand ohio winters. A small amount of ice build up caused the shutters to brake and/or got stuck closed. I've had to remove the ags completley to discover every shutter was broke. Without the ags working correctly the check engine light is on 100% of the time and the automatic car starter is canceled out. It was a normal winter day when I discovered the problem. My car was stationary and the driveway.

Upon starting car' airbag light may or may not be on. Light turns on and off without warning and has been ongoing. Seems to be rough idle' when I place the car in gear it jerks. During normal driving the car stalls causing a safety concern for rear end impact while airbag light may be on that may cause injury or death. This matter should be investigated and corrective measures taken. After reading testimonials about other 2015 Chrysler 200 owners' there obviously is a pattern with safety concerns.

The car stalls while driving, when coming to a stop or when sitting still, it does not seem to do it after the vehicle warms up, also when it stalls it is does not want to start right away. Sometimes taking several attempts to get it started. It started mid October and has been happening since.

It has been shutting off during driving, and also reads codes of gas cap, but I thinks a sensor and also transmission sensors, does not want to start, says key fob not detected, and wipers do not go fast at all.

Vechile showed no warning of over heating remind u this is almost the luxury model 200s. . Also emission always comes up with check engine even when I change gas. . Also fuel cap isn't always a tight fit even threw mopar pops up as cap loose! have a terrible suspension problem being a sports model with 19inch stock rims very pour design on lower control arm bushings and struts!.

Takata recall - airbag warning sensor has been displaying off and on for over a year. When I called the dealership I was told it was wear and tear and it would cost me alot to replace them. The car will lose power (grog out) intermittently causing me to almost stall. And just recently the gas cap warning light came on, along with the engine light. I have tried to have it fixed but was told something was faulty.
