Approximately 2 pm on may 30, 2025 I was driving from my home to a doctors appointment on habana Ave. In tampa florida. Approximately 8 mins from my home. The roads were in desperate need of repair with patchy potholes uneven pavement. I was going approximately 30 to 35 miles an hour that is the speed limit for this road as I was going over I hit one of the shallow holes in the road when that happened. The car bounced, and the headset exploded into the back of my head. !! it startled me, but not enough to cause an accident. I pulled over to see what had happened when I saw the headset. 12 Seats problem of the 2013 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 10/11/2024

While driving, the safety mechanism on my driver's seat headrest malfunctioned and launched forward. I was distracted for a minute after while I tried to figure out what just happened. At first I thought someone rear ended me until I saw there was no one behind me. I saw what happened to the headrest after I pulled into a gas station. I didn't take it to a mechanic because they would've wanted over $700 to replace it, which I can't afford. I replaced it myself with a headrest I bought on ebay. I still have the malfunctioned headrest because I'm not sure at this point what to do with it. There was no prior warning of any kind.

13 Seats problem of the 2016 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 09/20/2024

Air bag light comes on. We have had it checked by 3 different technicians. They have found that it is an issue with the control module, and seat squibs need to be replaced. This is a $4000 issue that is directly related to the safety of the driver of the car. They said it looks to be a manufacturing issue but unfortunately is not covered by the extended warranty that we purchased.

18 Seats problem of the 2013 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 11/28/2023

Multiple issues, passenger window is a very common issue, looked on youtube and found many videos for it was able to jump with direct power to the pigtail using wires and a battery and was able to roll it up but no explanation for why it ends up having this issue, heater core also a consistent issue, it is obvious with passenger side goes cold and 95% of the fix is a new heater core. Headrests popping, had the safety recall done 02chz28 (recall s61) and never was mentioned or brought up by local dealer, both seatbelts are not functioning properly, passenger side is the worst, locks up and both are running along the plastic causing it to become deformed and wearing on the edges of the belts. Vehicle has obvious replacements on the front but no accident history. Hood is a different VIN number and grill is not original from factory. I found the original photo of the car's first sale post. Odd malfunction is washer fluid can run out with no indicator being triggered for low fluid.

22 Seats problem of the 2013 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 06/21/2023

When my son was adjusting the seat to his height and reach, the headrest (commonly known as an ahr from my research) popped open. I was not hurt but could have been if I wasn't leaning forward at the time. I understand fiat Chrysler is under a class action lawsuit for this very defect, yet my car is not part of the recall. Does this mean they are not liable? do I have to join the class action lawsuit to get them to repair my headrest at no cost to me? I can take photos but I'm using an I-phone and my computer does not recoginze the file extension. Thank you for your guidance in this matter, gerald shackelford 210-365-6197.

24 Seats problem of the 2014 Chrysler 200

Failure Date: 05/13/2023

A couple of years ago my passenger head restraint deployed while parked and would not reset. I was charged $652. 00 to re place. Chrysler later reimbursed me for this expense and extended my warranty for this for one year. Two days ago the driver side activated while the car was parked. That means the warrant extension had passed. Did some research and this is a common problem caused by the weakening of the plastic that is under pressure of the retaining springs. This problem not only affects the Chrysler 200, but 300s and several keep and Dodge vehicles manufactured between 2010 and 2015. It is just by the grace of god no one has been injured. Mileage was 78000 the first time and 106500 the second time.

Passengers headrest exploded spontaneously. I noticed this morning leaving my house heading to work as I was driving down my street a rattling noise and looked over to see the head rest had ejected! thankfully I didn't have any passenger's in my car! I have no warning lamps other than low tire notification that refuses to go away after taking my car several times to make sure the tires are properly inflated and a check engine light that ofcourse came on today. I'm home and searched how to fix it and came across an article stating that I need to report this. I don't have any files. Just a pic of the headrest, current milage and notification lights. Vehicle was at detail shop - parked. Employee moved seat to access back and drivers side head rest deployed. There was no collision. Unable to reset, as part is broken. Appears to be a major safety concern which could lead to an accident. I will be attempting to address this issue quickly as it represents a major safety problem. It is available for inspection for now. Had this happened while driving I believe an accident would have resulted. I will be contacting the dealer and an independent shop on Monday. At this time it has not been inspected by anyone official. No warning signs were noted.
