general problems of the 2005 Chrysler 300

While getting on the freeway, at approx. 50 mph the car would not shift into next gear. Rpm was 4500-5000 (as though possibly stuck in overdrive). I decelerated hoping it would compute the need to shift. It didn't. I tried accelerating slowly and still didnt shift. I slowed down, put emergency flashers on and took the next exit 1/4 mile or less away. Since the light was red at the exit , I tried putting car into park and then back into drive to see if it would (�reset�), instead the shift selector was stuck in park. Light turned green and I couldn't get it in drive, couldn't move. After several attempts it finally went into drive. When I got off work, same thing. . . Stuck in park. After 4th try, I was able to get it in reverse, then into drive. I made it home without getting on freeway, parked the car 3 days ago and have not driven it since then. The car was already scheduled for recall repairs at dealership for tomorrow. Hopefully I can get it there. (I bought this car a week ago).

Vehicle was parked but unable to shift out of park due to a broken interlock return spring hook as described by Chrysler in https://Chrysler. Com/webselfservice/pdf/k39. Pdf Chrysler says my vehicle is not covered eventhough it is the same year and model as described in the letter.

Unable to shift vehicle out of park due to trasmission interlock latch he spring broke from the latch there is a recall k39 but not on this vehicle.

The vehicle is stuck in park with no other issues. Car will turn on, rear lights work, steering wheel turns. Consistent with issues realted to damages to the transmission shifter interlock lever.

Driving down hwy at 65 mph and car stalls no light to warn. All of a sudden no control over shearing not knowing car was off. Pulled over reatart car to only have in limp mode. Happened twice. Car also says throttle body code. Changed throttle body still wont go over 5 mph now. Unable to tell what wrong. After 4. Mechanics. . I give up. Chrysler should fix this from what I understand this is a huge issue with other 2005 Chrysler 300 owners.

Transmission interlock shifter is affected in my car however its not showing on my recalls please help.

Transmission shifter interlock lever recall k39 vehicle was parked, when I turned on the ignition, I was unable to shift vehicle from park, however, Chrysler insists my vehicle (based on my VIN) is not part of the recall. I do not want to pay for this repair, how can Chrysler exclude vehicles from the recall, when this problem should be covered by the recall? what recourse do I have as a consumer?.

Chrysler recall #k39 consisted of most 2005 - 2007 who had or may have the issue. I phoned Chrysler to inform them that I now have the issue but the representative said that my vehicle had to have been manufactured on June/July 24, 2007. My thought is that if it had to be manufactured in 2007 how would any 2005-2006 vehicle qualify for the recall. Then all the representative kept saying is that my vehicle does not qualify, while I am informing him that it has to qualify because my shift is doing just what you all recalled. He kept saying, well that is not on "your list". Well, I need him to add it to "my list". Whatever "list" he is speaking of. The stuck shift happened last night about 11:00pm when I got off from work, started my car, went to shift gears and nothing happened. I feel my car's shift failure falls in-line with the recall k39.

Vehicle shutters and rumbles when turning wheel. Break light constantly goes on and off.

Car gear stuck in park. Having totake to dealer, very stupid thing to happen to this type of vehicle. Cost 400. 00. Will never buy another Chrysler other recommend one to family or friends. How can certain VIN be recalled and not all.

Takata recall- my electric throttle control shut my engine down while on the express way in heavy traffic the gas pedal would no longer accelerate the car. I had to try to get over and put my hazardz on. I couldve died and it was night time. This part should be recalled.

The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler 300. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 15v313000 (electrical system, equipment) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.

The car stalled in the middle of the freeway while driving at 65mph!! it is a miracle no other car crashed into us and killed us. It also stalls on the streets and after filling it up with gas. Sometimes it starts up again and sometimes it doesn't. The car is a safety hazard to my son and me!! it is a 2005 Chrysler 300 2. 7l.

When I start the car its sounds fine after a few minutes it sounds like water running though the dash on driver side, vey complicated to explain. I don't know what it is but it last about 2/3 minutes.

Gear shift stuck in park.

I starting driving from the intersection the light had just turned green. After getting out of the intersection the car made a loud noise from the rear and stopped and would not move. I had to have the car towed. My work associate who was in the with me said the car sounded like I had just loss my rear-end. When I got the car to my private mechanic he said the rear-end was bad and needed replacing.

I drove my car on 12/02/2014 and when I got home and parked it, and got ready to leave out again it wouldn't not come out of park. I have a few friends that say this has happen to their car.

While driving the vehicle just shuts down chrylser said the problem was the gas tank I had to wait about 3 months after waiting they installed the gas tank and the problem is on changed.

I was leaving work and started my cay and went to put it in reverse and nothing happen. It would not come out of park. The gear was locked in park . I called a tow truck, and the tow truck driver informed me that there has been a recall on the gear shift for Chrysler 300s . I call the Chrysler dealership and they told me that "yes there has been a recall on that particular part, but not on my year vehicle. I don't understand why not my year model. If its a problem in other year model, then it makes sense that it can happen to any year model 300. There are other people out there who this has happened to unexpected, and I don't feel the dealership is being fair to people who have the 2005 300 awd model. Please look into this. I purchased the vehicle new and the transmission was changed at 109318 miles because of slippage. Since then I've had problems with the shifter getting stuck in park. I've had the vehicle at a Chrysler dealer 5 times and they can't duplicate the problem. I called for a tow while it was stuck in park today and the aaa tow driver demonstrated how to get it out of park. He stated that its a common occurrence with that year Chrysler. I'm confused why the service department was not aware of the procedure. The current mileage is 128238. I will take the car back to the dealer and demonstrate the procedure for unlocking the shifter, perhaps they can make a repair.

My daughter (12yrs. ) and I were on the freeway/car pool lane (double yellow lines) and the car stalled/turned off completely. I tried not to panic but I daughter did when the lights, engine and not to mention the steering wheel was very hard to turn. At this time I had to cross over the double yellow line and cut off a few cars who all most rear ended me, all cars honked at me and my little one was freaking out. It took 24 minutes to get off the freeway because it kept stalling and wouldn't continue to stay on. This is a very un safe situation, I pray no one gets hurt from this. Car continued to stall and turn off and at this time it's just sitting because of funds and just fed up with this car. . . . Not mention my parking lock mechanism broke last month and my engine blown due timings chain stretching. Had to rebuild the whole engine that cost me $5,000. 00, so you know at this time I will never purchase a Chrysler ever again. I new I should have stayed with Chevrolet! !!!!!!.

Car shaking like tires about to fall off, had it check and it was my tire rods and need a front end alignment and tires.

Drove to work fine but when I returned to the vehicle after work it would not release from "park". Had to have vehicle towed. After researching online this seems to be a very common issue. Not sure why there wasn't a recall?.

On many occasions, my car has been stuck in park. I have googled this, and found that many other people have had this same problem with Chrysler 300's. Some of the cars were recalled, but of course, mine was not. However, I am having the same problem as the cars that were recalled. Something under the gear shifter between the front seats is not working properly. In the past, it would come unstuck after a few minutes, but now, I think it is finally fully messed up! I have not been able to get my car out of park for the last three days. I've tried pulling the emergency brake (even though it was not applied), I've tried turning the car off and re-cranking it, I've tried pushing on the brake pedal as hard as I could while trying to shift out of park, I've tried shifting the gear while on accessory, with it running, with it in the on position. . . Nothing has worked. I've even tried talking to it nicely! the shifter just won't move. :( after reading online forums about this problem, many people say that the part that messes up is plastic. Something that gets moved as much as a gear shifter does should not be made out of plastic! I'm hoping many other people will complain about this, because I think Chrysler should recall all of the cars with this same plastic (or faulty) part!!!!!.

I am terrified to drive my Chrysler 300 . They have over 3 recall on my car. Every time I am driving my car I'm watching the air bag light. Please help!!!! what do I need to do??? there no incident I just need help with my car. I'm worried about the air bag. Why did they put the 2. 7 engine in those car? they are the worst engines.

The gear shift gets stuck in park position. We have to insert a ink pen or screw driver inside the panel in order to get it another gear. This problem started in 2006 but it keeps getting worse. Yes, the vehicle is stationary when this happens.
