Wheel problem #2

The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler 300. While traveling approximately 40 mph, the vehicle independently surged forward and decelerated without warning. The contact also indicated that the wheels locked up in the front and rear each time the failure occurred. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 06v341000 (power train). The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle to reset the computer, but the failure was getting progressively worse. The vehicle was included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v313000 (air bags) and stated that the dealer and the manufacturer stated that the part was on back order and would not be available for months. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 118,000.

Wheel problem #3

The corrosion on the cars' alloy wheels is such that it is necessary to always carry a manual tire pump since the corrosion allows air to escape from the tire. I have checked with the local Chrysler dealership and was told that this was common with alloy wheels which are now used to effect a weight savings. Additionally, the lug nuts have a metal (stainless steel) pressed over the steel lug nut to present a more pleasing appearance. Unfortunately, water and road salt migrate between the two metals and corrosion causes the pressed-on metal to expand to such an extent that a tire shop had to hammer an oversize socket on the lug nut to be able to remove the wheel from the car. This means that a motorist who experienced enough of a air loss would be unable to change the tire with the manufacturers-provided tool.

Wheel problem #4

The lugs have swollen on my vehicle and I can not get my tire rotation until I have 20 more lugs because the ones on the tire are swollen and can not be replaced one taken off. I contacted south oak Dodge and they said this happen and the cost would be on me for replacement. This is dangerous because until I can get the money if I have a tire problem I will be in bad shape. I've never had a car with this type of issue. At this point I will never get another Chrysler and as soon as I get it fixed I plan on getting rid of the vehicle.

Wheel problem #5

Vehicle parked in my driveway for 3 hours when it caught fire. Vehicle fire started under hood . Vehicle is totaled.

Wheel problem #6

The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler gem (na). The contact was traveling 25 mph and the driver side wheel felt as if it were ccoming and there was a grinding noise from that area of the vehicle. The vehicle had not been inspected or repaired. The VIN was unavailable. The current and failure mileages were approximately 5,000.

Wheel problem #7

All of the chrome covered wheel lugs on my 2007 Chrysler 300 have been mushroomed by the impact wrench while the tires were being rotated; my lug wrench no longer fits any wheel lugs. I can not change the tires if I get a flat tire. All the tire rotations are under the Chrysler service contract.
