1 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2024

I informed the dealership of ignition switch recall shortly after purchasing vehicle. The dealership stated " the VIN number shows no recalls". And that was it said there nothing showing up. I know ignition switch is messed up because every time I would turn the car off I could still feel it running. I've had my car a year and now it will not crank due to ignition switch and now fuel air intake is also messing up and has caused cylinder 6 to miss fire. I have been without a vehicle for a month now and I need it fixed. When test driving the car, it would slow down as I was turning into a place of business and almost getting hit by another vehicle.

2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2019

We had the ignition serviced a few years back then it sat inop until recently now the same problem with ignition only this time it wont shut off.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2018

The floor shifter is hanging in park after I have placed the vehicle in park and turned the engine off. When I get back in the car and start it up, I can not get it out of park. This is the same problem / recall associated with Chrysler satisfaction notification k39 for the 2005-2007 models.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/21/2018

Was driving vehicle and out of no where there was steam/smoke coming from under hood, the car however never ran hot according to temperature gage. Coolant light came on, I parked it, filled it with coolant and took it to Chrysler the next morning. Dealership claimed that the car overheated and damaged the motor, however according to the gage the car never ran hot.

5 Equipment problem

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2016

I have made contact with a local Chrysler deal about both recalls on my 300 with no results. I'm told they will contact me when parts are available, but they never call. I will not be held responsible for any cost if these recall issues do damage to my own vehichle or pasender in my vehicle. I have tried numeriour times to get these issues rectified and have been unable to make headway with the dealership.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2016

Dealership told me that the tipm in my Chrysler 300 was bad and it would cost roughly between $1400-$1500 to repair the problem. Vehicle would not start.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/09/2016

My radiato has a hole in it there was a pop noise and then everything leaked out the car was only just started, not over heating I stopped to talk to a neighbor when we heard the pop noise and a piece of plastic was sticking out of the fan area I later learned it was from my fan assembly. How does this happen to a car with less then 56,000. Miles that goes to dealers for service, this car is a lemon they had to rebuild transmission at 27,000. Miles, brakes and rotors last year four new tires, and that dealer said I was going to need front end work, I have been to three different dealers and dont feel I can trust any of them . They seem to find things to do even if not needed . I dont think my transmission was leaking when they said it was either I would have seen it on the ground as it sits in my driveway but I do think it would have been leaking when I left there,as there not going to chance me bringing it somewhere else . This car is a lemon and I should get a full refund. With all recalls needed new tires and rotors brakes etc, last year and they said something about front end work will be needed . Service depts, are not trust worthy when I took it for an oil change six months later it had no oil how is that happen. Do then not fill it up so do I hav eto take it to be checked after an oil change at lester glen Chrysler not to speak of the recalls on this car. Y.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2016

Recently we bought a 2008 Chrysler 300. A few months after we got it, it would not start. We bought a new battery and a few weeks after that, it wouldn't start. We took it to the dealership and they said they could not find anything wrong with it. Now, sometimes it will start and sometimes it wont. There is no clicking or anything like that just silence when it won't start. The horn works the lights work and the ding that lets you know the door is open. It can set for a couple of weeks and then start right up and a couple of days later, nothing. I couldn't find a recall on my specific car but I know they have had a lot of electrical problems. Can you help?.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/18/2015

The dealer is not remedying the defect with the win module due to part not being available. It has been half a year since I called and dealer said it would call back once they have the part. On 2-18-16 I called the dealer say sit does not have the part and took my number to call back.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/29/2015

The dealership will not fix my airbag recall. (maimk haik houston, TX) I need someone to address this issue fast. This is more then a safty issue. I have made three appointments and they havent fixed my car yet.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/27/2015

The car ignition is not working, unable to know when the car will start.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/21/2015

The engine cooling fan on my 2008 Chrysler 300 (3. 5l v6) separated/blew apart during the fan operation and caused damage to the radiator. The fan and radiator needed to be replaced. There is a recall notice on the engine cooling fans for the Chrysler 300 (2006-2008) as listed on the NHTSA website; however, Chrysler claims that my car (2008 Chrysler 300) is not eligible for the recall. This is the same issue as reported by other Chrysler 300 drivers.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/02/2015

We received a recall notice for the ignition switch back in November 2014. The switch began failing in late April 2015. We took the vehicle to a local dealership (mike anderson Dodge in marion, indiana). They said all they could do was replace the part with the same defective part and charge us for the part and the labor. They replaced the part with a part they know is defective and places our lives in danger and charged us $565. 00 to do so. They said that when the replacement part becomes available that Chrysler may reimburse us. This does not seem right.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/07/2015

On April 7, 2015 I had trouble starting my car. I thought it was the starter and took the car to my local service station where my car "died". They evaluated the car and told me it was the key and wins component. On April 8, the service station manager called me to say that the local Chrysler dealership did not know when they would be able to get the part, so I rented a car. On April 17, I was advised to call Chrysler customer service. I now had a case number and was told my issue would be expedited but the part was not available in the USA. On April 27, I wrote to the president and vp of Chrysler corporation asking for their help. On may 6, I received a call from mike at corporate headquarters saying the part would be here on may 13 (it wasn't) and Chrysler would pay for my car rental (which they did). On may 26, I was told that the keys were in but not the wins component - that might not be ready until July. Later that day, my car was fixed !! but with Jeep parts. It cost me over $1200; the trunk doesn't open with the key; the tire light remains on at all times and the Chrysler part is still not available. And I may have to pay for the repair again once the right part comes in!!!.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/10/2015

My vehicle has a delayed start/crank once key is turned, takes about three seconds to start the vehicle engine. The car has 87,000 miles on it and this just started to happen within the last few months. I initially thought it was the battery so I had firestone replace the battery. But that did not cure the problem. I than brought my vehcile to the Chrysler dealership and they did an inspection and verified that the ignition switch in fact had a delay crank concern. I also recieved a notification from Chrysler p57 recall notice. I was than informed by the dealership that there is no part available from Chrysler to fix it! I will be on some waiting list---go figure! a second wave of owners will be notified June 2015. . . . I feel sorry for them, take a number and wait. Wait and wonder if maybe while on the freeway going 65 ot 70 mph your ignition may "spring back " from run to off. . . That should be interesting when your car completely stops and you have no steering on the freeway with a mac truck behind you! seriously? I smell death lawsuit. Public safety is at risk. Chrysler does not have fix for the problem either. I bought a lemon. I want Chrysler to take there car back and give me another year model, say a 2009 that does not have this problem, or pay for a rental car during the time Chrysler decides how to remedy this problem. I feel unsafe in my car. What if one day the car doesn't even start and I am stranded at night on some road? this sucks.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2015

I buy today I need to know if is bad.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/27/2014

Continental conti-pro contact tires p225-60r18 99h took car in for valve job and while driving home the front end was shaking. Took back and was due to bad tires, steel belt coming through on front continental conti pro contact tires. The tires had at least another 20,000 miles wear left on them. This was the second set of tires (not original tires) on this vehicle so should have lasted longer than this. Tire defect??.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/17/2014

I have been having issues with starting the car as well as the car starting by itself without me even turning the key to start position. Electrical issues are also present in starting car, the problem is getting worse day after day. I have stayed stranded at several different places just trying to start the car. I have had 2 registered automotive shops check out the problem I am having with the car & they both have told me it's the ignition. I am a female & can not continue to be stranded trying to start the car & losing electrical power to lock doors/ roll up windows etc. . . Since this is a recall on my car, it should be fixed immediately by the dealer/Chrysler group, I should not have to put the money to fix it myself, if it causes more problems/issues with the car then the Chrysler group should be responsible for further problems with my vehicle. Please contact me at 505-864-8206 so we may resolve this issue. Thank you, rebecca gulas.

23 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2014

Recall # p57/NHTSA 14v-567 (registered under aim nationalease) I writing you due to the fact that I received this notice on 11/26/14 and my service manager has called the dealer many times to only get the answer we do not have parts to repair this recall. I feel this is not the response the public should get every time we call a Chrysler dealer. We are a transportation company that deals with class a equipment and make sure our vehicles are safe daily to be on the road. I would expect that we should get a better response from Chrysler on the issue. Please respond with the repair dealer you would like us to get this car fixed. 24 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2014

We were hit by a car and the car did not deploy the air bags and it cut off and all the electrical shut down and the car ignition got stuck and had to be turned over several times before it would start. I was told the problem came from the ignition switch.

25 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/25/2014

I tried to crank up my car and it started smoking and I had to have the car towed home. However, it started turning off while I was driving back in Feb of 2013.

26 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2014

I got a recall almost a year ago for the ignition switch and about a month or so ago for the air bag. Chrysler has told me neither part is available. My car may start and it may not start for months. It's been towed several times after not starting while out or getting off work late. I feel Chrysler have put me in some very dangerous situations of being stranded. I don't and can't drive my car because of the recalls. I pay for insurance on a car I can't drive. I feel that Chrysler should buy my car back because it is no use to me and very inconvenient. I paid thousands of dollars for your product and this is how you treat your customers. Shame on you Chrysler corporation!!!!!!!.

27 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/11/2014

Getting off of the beltway and the car stopped. Luckily I was able to pull on the side and restart the car. It has happened at least four other times. Once pulling out of a gas station into traffic, sitting at a red light and driving about 30 miles an hour on a residential road. This is not safe. Chrysler has issued a recall with no part on hand yet to fix this problem. This is a safety hazard and meanwhile an 82 year old woman has to drive her car never knowing when it will just shut down. Chrysler is making no attempt at offering rental cars or as I see it getting the part to the dealers to fix it. Why should the owner incur rental fees because this car is completely unsafe to drive. ? I would like some answers as soon as possible. I called Chrysler and was reread the recall letter and was told nothing would be done and that Chrysler had no intention of supplying anyone with a rental car that has had the car shutdown while driving it.

28 Equipment problem

The switch is not functioning properly, several times I have turned the switch on and it will pop back to the off position, one time I was driving across a parking lot at maybe 15-20 mph and it popped back to the off position and shut the car off while in motion, all I have on the the key ring is the key itself nothing else so it cant be the weight. 33 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2014

We are having problem with the ignition key when you start the car. It take 5-10 second for the car to respond and start the car. On August 16,2014 we took the car to carl burgers dealership for service. They said the issue is with the key and new key is need to be purchased at 226. 66 so we did. After the service was done 24 hours after we still had the same issue. I contacted the dealership on 9/27/2014 concerning a recall currently have on Chrysler vehicle with same issue. They told me this car is not included in recall. Than I contacted the Chrysler company asking the same questions and there respond was you car is not included in the recall but they might expand the recall to different model which will include your vehicle. So as a consumer what do we do drive the car with all these faults and take risk for our family's because Chrysler don't have the people to fix the issue. Please advise.

34 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/16/2014

I'm complaining about the win module, I've had so many problems with this. Not knowing that's what it was, I went out and bought batteries for my fobs. . . Worked for about a week, my car beeps all night long so I took the backs of the fobs so that the battery would not have contact. That helped with the beeping. But I have had so many problems with the car starting, had to sit places until I could get it started. So I go on Chrysler s page only to read about problems with the win module, and it states that there"s many many of the 2008 Chrysler 300 with this problem. And it also states that if it fail while driving the car could shut off. My complaint is if Chrysler know this why don't they have a recall on the cars. So many people complaining that their car want start, but when it's taken into the shop, the part is on back order, and then when the part come in and installed you have to get another key fob and it programmed to that module. That key is a total of $289. 00. I was quoted, and most people have 2 keys. That price is $289. 00 each. This is not right, if it's that many complaint it should be recalled. The price for repairs was $760. 00 plus 289. 00 twice and not to mention car rental.
