I informed the dealership of ignition switch recall shortly after purchasing vehicle. The dealership stated " the VIN number shows no recalls". And that was it said there nothing showing up. I know ignition switch is messed up because every time I would turn the car off I could still feel it running. I've had my car a year and now it will not crank due to ignition switch and now fuel air intake is also messing up and has caused cylinder 6 to miss fire. I have been without a vehicle for a month now and I need it fixed. When test driving the car, it would slow down as I was turning into a place of business and almost getting hit by another vehicle.
Purchased 2008 Chrysler 300c about a month ago. Interior has odor of gasoline. I googled and read about the issue. Seems it is not uncommon and some folks have found cracked pump or a need for replacing the seal of pump. I don't see any fuel sitting on top when I pull up the rear seat. Usually smell after car sits for awhile then seems to dissipate while driving. . Could it be something else in engine? this is an everyday occurrence with the odor.
Since fueling there is a strong smell of gas inside vehicle and near passenger rear wheel well after vehicle sits. There is no sign of leaking anywhere. Found a large number of similar complaints, but no solutions online.
Tipm is bad casing a no start issue and the car will periodically stall and not restart leaving you stranded in the middle of the road.
Strong gas/fuel smells inside the vehicle. Took the vehicle in for work, midas said it was the fuel vapor storage canister it would cost $400 to repair. This is after spending $1700 on a rebuilt transmission and $600 on a trans and engine mount from driving slowly over a speed bump at mgm grand and $600 to replace the broken fan and radiator.
Car completely shuts down on us. No hesitation, no warning just completely shuts off while driving, park, reverse or at standstill! have taken it to mechanics and to Chrysler 3 times and the can not figure out why it's shutting down! this happens several times daily.
Every time I put my car in park and turn off car key wouldn't come out had to start it back up and turn back off sometimes it did sometimes it didn't know my battery is bad I blame the ignition for that just after I started to have problems with the ignition my battery keep dying I tooked it to get charged I was told it was good by auto parts tested and everything for free put it back in the car now its died again.
Had two occasions in the past 12 months where as I'm driving along, the engine shut off and was barely able to keep car from colliding with other vehicles on road. Most recently, I experienced a 3rd incident where while driving at approx 30 mph, all warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle lost power and was unable to accelerate. Pulled over and shut off car. And tried to restart. Engine started but was in 'limp' mode and had codes in computer. Had car towed to mechanic and they stated codes p0344 , p0340 & b1a35 present. Advised that motor now has a knock in it and would need an entire replacement.
My vehicle shuts off when at a stop sign or light. Pretty much when the motor is idle it turns off. It also feels like it stutters while trying to speed up. I have read online that many Chrysler 300 have the same problem. Its causing me lots of problems while im drivng because sometimes at stop lights right before the lights changes to green my car will turn off so I have to quickly try to turn it back on to take off.
