The front passenger door panel has separated at the top leaving an open gap between the window and the door. It appears that the rubber molding was not manufactured properly and as heat from the sun warms up the molding, it deforms, pulls up and separates. The problem has continued to worsen over time and is approaching the door locking mechanism. It is also now possible for water to get to the inside of the door. This is a non-moving part that was defective at the time of manufacture, but took time to malfunction.
Vehicle was parked and unoccupied but running and it slipped out of gear and rolled into a parked vehicle. Claim number 20-5560-f20.
1. While driving at normal speeds my car seems to struggle shifting into gear. It also makes clunking sounds going up hill. Today I accelerated to get onto the highway and the vehicle made a loud noise for a few seconds and finally got up to speed. 2. My vehicle also has a factory rust proofing and the quarter panels are showing large spots of rust on the front and rear of the vehicle.
My car got into an auto accident and the airbag did not deploy. We were traveling in heavy traffic, weather was rainy, on nb I 5 just passing mile post 22 in woodland washington state.
On July 17 2016 I drove in a car wash parking lot. I stopped and shifted from drive to park. I took my foot off of the brake and I was in the motion to turn off the engine. But the car was in reverse and moved several feet in reverse hitting a steel post in the ground causing damage to the rear of my car. The transmission when from drive to neutral to reverse but not into park. There were two people standing near my car when this happened. If they would have been behind my car it have been a possible serious injury . I sent a email on July 18 2016 mopar assistance center explaining the accident but I never received any response from them. The car was put into park and rolled down the driveway, across the street, into a ravine and hit a tree.
Vehicle purchased in sept 2014, within a month and only driving it 550 miles I was parking vehicle, at the time didnt realize how it happened but vehicle went into reverse and went into a pole in parking lot. Repair to back bumper at dealer was $791. 59. I paid and just went on. Then I get a recall notice saying this could happen, driver error. Now I get a recall saying it is something they are going to repair in vehicle. I contacted fiat chysler to discuss being reimbursed for this repair and they are saying they would not cover it. I was at a dr appointment at the hospital parking lot when this occured, vehicle went into a cement pole. I do have copies of repairs, just can download them.
