I have owned this vehicle for 9 years, and taken it in for numerous oil changes and multi-point inspections. One item that is included to be serviced is to check and top off (if needed) the power steering fluid. Due to where the power steering reservoir and pump is located, the passenger side tire and fenderwell cover must be removed to access the two parts. This is quite a bit of labor for an oil change and multi-point inspection, yet the service rep assures me that the steering fluid has been checked, even though the noise and stiff steering is still present. My concern is that dealerships are not checking the power steering fluid due to a faulty location design and the labor required to access the parts that need servicing for routine maintainance; the alternative for them is a profitable steering pump replacement. From my observation, the fenderwell cover has never looked as though it was removed to check the steering fluid.
