Rear Seat Belt Problems of Chrysler 300

The rear seatbelts in the vehicle do not fit my 11 and 13 year old children. The part that the belt plugs into appears to be too long, thus the belt is pulled up by the shoulder to position it across the middle of my child. The belt will not ride on the hips as required to be properly belted in the vehicle.

The vehicle was inspected by a dealer who determined the rear shoulder belt was functioning as designed which is to lock into place when brake pressure was applied. The manufacturer was alerted.

: the contact stated while traveling various speeds, the rear seatbelt did not restrain the child safety seat tightly. The child was able to get out from under the seatbelt. The lap and shoulder belt did not properly secure the child. The service dealer was contacted, who suggested that the manufacturer be notified. The manufacturer was contacted, and expressed that the seat belt would tighten when the brakes were applied. The contact disagreed because the child would be thrown forward if the brakes were applied while the child was not restrained properly. There was no problem with the child seat itself.
