Three problems related to gas recirculation valve (egr valve) have been reported for the 2006 Chrysler 300C. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My car will stall at any time. On the freeway and in town. It has no warnings. I have been almost rear ended honked and stuck in a traffic jams. I am scared to drive it anywhere. Its had new gas tank, new computer, throttle sensor egr valve and has no codes to go by to fix it. Its been at the dealership where I bought it and they keep wanting more money to try and fix it while just guessing. Different mechanics have driven it home and it stalls on them but they still can't figure it out. Its been at the dealership for almost 2 weeks.
Started experiencing problems last year. Car would cut off without warning, cut off while in a turn and I was almost hit by oncoming traffic. Took it to the dealer, dealer stated it was pcm. Had the control module fixed ($1000 repair) and now recently we have been experiencing an issue where the car wants to cut off at all speeds. Today, my husband drove it to the gas station and it cut off on him and then wouldn't start back up. It started up a few min after sitting but traffic was too busy so we were unable to drive it home. It is still parked at the gas station and we are hoping well be able to get it home before having to call a tow truck. Replaced spark plugs 1 1/2 weeks ago because we assumed it was misfiring (when it was wanting to cut off). We've changed the camshaft (prior to having the pcm replaced) and egr valve as well. There is no check engine light but have still attempted to get codes read. . . No codes. This seems to be an ongoing issue that Chrysler needs to take care of. I will never buy another car that Chrysler has had a hand in making. . . . . How many complaints need to take place before you realize that this will kill someone. . . But I guess you'd rather a lawsuit on your hands for a death rather then fixing all these cars the right way. #unsatisfiedbuyer took a shot at this beautiful car and am sadly disappointed 2006 300c 5. 7l hemi. Whats the point of having such a beautiful car if you can't even drive it.
My vehicle will stall out on me intermittently. It mostly happens right after I get finished putting gas in my car. Unlike most other stories I've read about overfilling the gas tank, this happens to me sometimes when I put just a half of a tank of gas in my car. Now, as of Nov. 7, 2013, it's done it well over 100 times; that's since the first time it happened in may. The dealership is a complete scam. They know this is a defect. They've charged me to fix everything from egr valves to pcms to spark plugs. Nothing has worked. Then finally I decide to do some deep research, that's when I decided to file my complaint. There are 2 major issues I have. When at highway speeds, I'll lose all power and throttle response for a split second, then it'll kick back in. It's extremely dangerous, to say the least. The more frequent problem, is the car completely cutting off while either at idle, or traveling at a lower speed. Both situations happen almost always directly after I put gas in my car. This happens so much that it is becoming unbearable. Sometime it starts back up, and sometimes I have to wait a minute or two. It's ridiculous. I don't mind paying to have my car serviced. However, diagnose the problem, know that's the problem, and let's get it fixed. Don't run me through $3,000 worth of repairs, knowing that you've got countless others with the same model and model year, coming in around the same time, complaining about the same problem. You know what it is. That's no coincidence. And quite frankly, it's fraudulent. I've got my 5 year old son riding in the back seat. What happens the next time my car stalls out on the highway and loses power, with another car tailgating me? what if it's a tractor trailer next time? will they have enough time to brake or plow into the back of me? more unnecessary stress and worry for the loyal consumer. Thanks Chrysler.
