I was able to pull off highway & roads w/ luck 7 not causing any accidents. . I think NHTSA # on this issue is-pe-13016. . It is a dangerous situation that I hope gets corrected ASAP. . Thx for your help. . . This happen 3 plus times. . .
After filling the car with gas, the car starts without any issues and drives off without any problems. As the car slows down whether stopping or turning the car will shut off. In the middle of a turn the car veers into the other lane because there is no power steering. The car has to stopped before it can be restarted. Also if you are entering the interstate after refilling with fuel, the vehicle will reach the desired speed without any problems to merge into traffic, after merging into traffic as soon the desired speed is reach and the motor slows, the car motor will shut off in traffic. This scenario will continue until some gas is burned out of the gas tank. Afterwards the cars runs fine. I took the car to the Chrysler dealership several times and they could not find anything wrong. They did not charge me for the inspection because they could find anything wrong.
Car randomly stalls, at any speed, dash lights flash on and off, wipers turn on by them self , horn sounds by itself. Had it at the dealership for 2 months, had at sometimes 40+ codes come up on the computer. Changed multiply modules they cant figure it out.
The steering rack has completely cracked on my car. It is cracked all the way around. I had just finished an 800 mile trip and it is likely it cracked some time during the trip. There was no clunk or noticeable noise; I found the crack while changing my oil after the trip. I am concerned as this could have deadly consequences.
The car cut off 3 times in one day for no apparent reason; once while pulling out into oncoming traffic, then after fueling the car and pulling out of the gas station into oncoming traffic, then while driving down the street at about 35 mph. Fortunately, I safely guided the car to the side of the road to avoid a collision. The dealership replaced 2 sensors (code:p0038)- $501. 98. One week later, the car continued to cut off while driving. The dealership codes that came p0038, p0058, p0052, p0032, pmc & engine harness,& pmc engine computer - $2000 - declined repairs because sensors (p0038) were just replaced . Chrysler service bulletin 08-34-05 June 30, 2015 addresses this issue. Chrysler corp -michael browsowski says the car (now 56,484 miles) is out of warranty so they owe us nothing, but as a good will gesture, they will pay for 2 parts only - not labor. He admitted that a car cutting off is unacceptable, but refused to cover the entire cost of repair. He also refused to reply to my written complaint in writing. Chrysler continues to shirk their responsibility to recall and repair this manufacturer's defect. . Read more...
This is the fourth time for this incident my car gave no indication it was about to stall no lights on dash board . It appeared that something switch the ignition to the accessory position. Unable to steer, or use the breaks the car stop immediately can not get to a safe place. . Has been to the Chrysler dealer four time this year for other related problems. But Chrysler was not able to diagnosis or repair this problem. Was told it would not read a code. It was internal problem. For 21days they kept my car without repair. . Second visit was 9-10 days with approximately five day with the owner my latest stay was 4days. My car drove approxmate; 50 miles before stalling again. For the first time I use another repair shop other than Chrysler. The worker seem well pleased when I stated I would not return with the same problem. I spoke with the manger and could not get the problem solved.
I'm having the same problem with the car stalling when I fill up the gas tank all the way. It has happened numerous times and is very dangerous. I pulled out in traffic and it stalled, blocking traffic. It took several times to start again. Very dangerous. I could die. I took it to my local dealership in scottsbluff, ne and they don't see an extended lifetime warranty on the gas tank, like there is supposed to be, like it mentions on the NHTSA website.
I was driving down the street when the vehicle just stalled on me. Power steering went out as well ws pretty hard to get to the side of the road. Than I took it to the mechanic to get it checked out and it stalled again while trying to park the vehicle.
Walked out of the house to go to work. Car started fine but could not get it out of park. Got online found out their was a recall and this is a common problem. Called the dealership and they said my car is not under the recall. Now the dealership wants to charge me 350 to replace the shifter but its only a small part. If this is common why are all the cars on this recall?.
Since last March my Chrysler 300c srt8 2006 is turning off the engine while in movement. I noticed the problem always happen when the fuel tank is full or or around 3/4. It's a very serious problem because I almost crashed the car many times considering that when the engine turns off the steering gets heavy and the brakes doesn't work properly. Now I'm not confident to put my family in the car because I am afraid to have a collision and hurt myself and my family. I made a research at the internet and I realized that a lot of 300c owners have the same problem that it's called as engine stall. Now I want Chrysler to help me to solve this matter considering it already happened several times and it's very dangerous to drive the car with this defective.
Car stalls when idle, car stalls when at low speed, car stalls when starting to drive (at low speeds), all power/electric cuts out intermittently while in motion.
After refueling the vehicle it stalls. The vehicle looses steering power. This has happened numerous times. I have tried to not let the fuel get to low and have tried filling the tank at different levels with no luck.
Right after gassing up, my car stalled at a red light. Restart, stall again while rolling (losing power steering and power brakes. ) restart and drive with heavy throttle to next red light, where car stalled again. Restart, go, then another stall when car behind me honks. Dangerous stalling in intersection. Problem remained until gas tank went down about 2 gallons from full. Problem continues to date, I cannot fill the gas tank.
5 minutes after filling up my 06 Chrysler 300c srt-8 6. 1l at a gas station I was crossing over traffic to make a left turn and my car died in the middle of oncoming traffic. It took several minutes to restart then lurched forward after put into gear. This is the second time right after filling my tank this has occurred. The time before it stalled merging onto interstate on ramp.
Purchased car used and within 24 hours had car stall on me totaling about 6 times now within 2 weeks. It has stalled everywhere from highway speeds to idling and while in reverse. Car starts back up without problem if put in neutral or park. Have had fuel injectors cleaned, new spark plugs ( manufacturer suggested copper) and all new ignition coils. Dealership said the stalling was caused by old spark plugs and worn ignition coils but continues to stall after all of these were replaced. It doesn't seem to matter what speed I am going, but seems to stall more when I reach around a quarter tank of gas. The car has stalled on me several times in traffic and while entering and exiting highway. I do not feel it is safe to drive especially with kids and family in the car, there is no warning of stall and is very unpredictable.
Hello, I am a current Chrysler vehicle owner and I’ve been having issues where my 2006 Chrysler 300c srt8 which just shuts off without any warnings or trouble codes reported to the car’s computer. There are times when I’m driving on a busy highway and the car will just stall out. Each time I take my car to the auto mechanics, they aren’t able to identify anything wrong as there aren’t any codes detected. My vehicle even stalled while at the mechanics shop and they still weren’t able to assist as no codes were triggered. Over the past 2 years, I’ve spent thousands of dollars and countless hours, stuck on major highs as well as replacing car components in a big effort of trying to resolve this concern. To date, I am still experiencing these anxieties. I’ve been out on relative web sites looking this problem up and it appears this has been happening to thousands of Chrysler srt/srt8 owners and they are dealing with same concerns that I am. I’m including a url link to one of the blog of 10+ pages of complaints from owners who are lost, confused and don’t know what to do. . Read more...
Engine stalled for first time less than 2 miles after fill up at 25 mph on city street. Immediately loss power assist of both steering and brakes. Car weights 4040 lbs and I had a difficult time pulling into a parking lot and getting the car stopped. Car was immediately restarted. No future problems until nearly every refill when it stalls within first few seconds or 2 miles. Car now has 79550 miles. My wife drives this most frequently but I always fill the gas tank. I told her when it stalls, steer straight, put car in neural, restart, and hope you do not have to stop quickly. In NHTSA action number pe13016 Chrysler's [xxx] letter Aug 9, 2013 last page 17 states "if a stall after refuel conditions occurs, the vehicle has functioning steering and brake systems". True but with out power assist on steering and brakes car is very difficult to control. Most women and small men would have difficulty safely stopping car. Chrysler concludes this issue poses and minor risk to vehicle safety. I am a retired mechanical engineer and worked 40 years with power trains and strongly disagree. In this review vehicles 5, 6, and 7 all had problems with swollen refueling floats allowing the floats to stick and not function properly. All three cars were 2006 300c with 5. 7 liter hemi engines the same as mine. . On a11. Page 15, Chrysler acknowledges the vent valves was changed for my 2007. This appears to acknowledge a poor or faulty design in my 2006. Information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Filled up the car and upon pulling onto the highway the car stalls and shuts off. Very dangerous situation for my family as well as others. I am surprised thus far, very thankful,no fatalities have been reported.
Our 2006 Chrysler 300c dies after fueling the gas tank to full. It has died in intersections were we have almost been run into and in turns where is locks up and there is no power anything and have almost crashed. We have taken it to the dealership and continuously pay money to fix what they think it is and now for the third time they are asking for almost 1800 dollars to replace the tank. I can definitely see how this is a major problem and a huge safety issue.
After refueling tank I drove away from the pumps and onto the roadway, during acceleration to speed limit (50mph), at 25mph the engine stalled, with traffic quickly approaching I might add, and left me coasting. I was able to pull off to the side of the road thankfully, at which time I had to attempt a restart 3 times before it did start, when it started I had no issues for a few months. This exact situation happened to me every other month for a year until I learned to not fuel the vehicle to the top. It is a considerable inconvenience to not be able to fill the car to its capacity, especially on long trips. I am just afraid that this will happen, at any time, with no warning, quite an uncomfortable feeling actually. I hope for a satisfactory resolution to this issue. Thank you.
After refueling engine stalled. Hard restart in busy traffic. Problem continues today.
Our 2006 Chrysler 300 srt8 dies after fueling the gas tank to full. It has died in intersections were we have almost been hit and in turns car dies, locks up and there is no power anything. We have taken it to the dealership 4 times and continuously pay money to turn run diagnostic, only to hear " we cannot duplicate the problem" I have spent $400. 00 to be told there is nothing wrong. Car becomes very hard to restart. Once I get the vehicle started, again the stalling starts, this will happen serval times before the car remains on. As I drive home, I could feel the car "sputtering" or hesitating like it wanted to shut down again. When starting car in the morning it feels like it wants to die. Please help this car is my family's main transportation and I fear that one day this issue will cause a crash. I have a 3 year old and a baby on the way. Help!!! Chrysler does not care about lives, only the bottom line.
I own a 2006 Chrysler 300. Twice yesterday my steering wheel locked up while driving. I could not turn the car in either direction. I had to bring the car to a stop in the middle of traffic, turn the car off and back on and then the steering was fine. This has happened twice in one day and is obviously a defect. This is a major issue for me because if I'm driving on the highway it could cause a serious or fatal accident. I took the car to Chrysler and they said they cannot detect a problem.
We were driving cross country from michigan to texas on the highway. We were in the middle lane going 65 miles per hour. The car stalled and it wouldn't start up again. My husband couldn't control the car. He put the flashers on. Fortunately no one hit us. Cars started driving around us. He was finally able to start the car. We had the kids in the car and it felt like we were stalled forever. We were afraid for the rest of the 2 day drive. I went straight to the Chrysler dealership the next day after getting back from the trip. They checked the car and said that they couldn't get the car to stall, so they said they couldn't do anything. It had stalled again the following year.
