Eight problems related to automatic transmission have been reported for the 1999 Chrysler 300M. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
In reverse vehicle jerked back without warning. This caused a collision. Vehicle was towed to dealership, who did not resolve the problem.
Vehicle stalls everytime it is parked on an incline. When shifted into gear vehicle has to warmed up before it can move.

Transmission does not pull in vehicle. Vehicle doesn't want to go into gear. Dealer stated all Chryslers have same problem.
Vehicle surged out of park in reverse with throttle wide open and crashed into a dumpster and then went forward 200 ft into a tree. Dealer states nothing wrong with vehicle. Owner states a definate hazard to drive car without full investigation. Several other similar incidents reported on this site with no investigation of nhsta reported. Legal advisory of case action.
Gauge indicates that vehicle is in park before the gear shifter is actually locked into the park position. Owner has mistakenly thought he had placed the vehicle in park before park was fully engaged, vehicle rolled into a tree as a result.
Same problem as previously reported by a different consumer. Speedometer drops to zero, car will not shift out of second, when slowing down to stop the engine stalls. I have had this problem twice in 6 months! both times the transaxle output speed sensor was replaced. Dt.
