The front valve lifters and time. The rear valve lifters and time are defective the car drives rough and misfires further I can't get the parts from Chrysler to repair the truck.
On may 1st 2017 I was on the market for a dependable vehicle for my children and I. My boyfriend suggested auto deals llc. On 12838 san pedro in san antonio, where his cousin richard mckinney is a salesman. My boyfriend and I arrived at 1:30 pm and stayed till 6pm that same day filling out paperwork and looking at vehicles. Richard's coworker doug assisted us on this first day. We decided to go home and sleep on it and see the new shipment the next day as I was unsatisfied with the current options. As we decided to leave the supervisor alex sinno said "come back tomorrow and I will give you a year warranty". When we returned the next morning with the $700 we were told we needed to drive off the lot, we were then told that the boss was asking for $1000 down plus insurance that they would take care of in house on an iou that we were to payback that Friday. Feeling uneasy but still desperate we scraped together the extra $300 plus indebted ourselves for the in house insurance. Shortly after we drove off the lot on the way home on may 2nd 2017 the vehicle started to shake and the check engine light turns on and I notice that it is out of gas as well. After fueling up, I drive over to our family mechanic. He informs me of a multitude of issues including the radiator being bone dry, and gaskets needing replacements. I also notice I cannot lock my doors and see that there are over 20 fuses missing. We manage to make it home because the dealership is closed at this point so we call in the morning. For a whole week we call repeatedly daily but never make it past the receptionist and never receive a call back. During the week I take it to a nearby advance auto and auto zone, where the vehicle is put on the computer. I ended up buying coolant and an ignition coil, as well as received copies of receipts and diagnostics on their machines. On may 5th we also payed back the I.
I was driving in the middle of winter, I started to smell something burning I rolled the windows down to check if it was my truck, smoke was coming from the back seat. I pulled over and opened the back door and saw my back seat burning. Had to put water and leave the windows down for a couple days, it's so horrible to think that my son usually sits there and could of gotten burned. I got this truck because I have 4 children and I drive to their activities every day.
My vehicle got stuck in gear and couldnt shift it back into park . Had to call a tow truck to tow it cause I turned it off with the key and it still would shift into park. I had to wait till Monday the 27 of June to callthe mechanic and he towed it to his shop. He called me today and said it was the gear shift and transmission that were no good or messed up. This happend on Saturday June 25 and I was pulling out of some offices that I clean in round rock texas 1970 rawhide. The firefighters acrss the street had to help my husband push it to the side of the street because we were on a slop and my car had roled back and almost hit some mail boxes.
We bought the Chrysler Aspen with the hemi engine new in 2007. The following year the problem began to rear its ugly head. Constant electrical problems due to water intrusion from the sun roof due to poor drainage. Truck was serviced numerous times by Chrysler with no positive results. Truck is hazardous to drive because all dash board lights will go on when it's raining or after its rained which causes a distraction while driving. This issue has happened while driving on a highway at 65 mph, city streets and also while the truck is stationary. This issue has been documented numerous times and Chrysler has made no effective engineering remedy. They even blame the environment I. E. Trees for causing the problem as refusal to honor their warranty. We purchased the truck with a lifetime warranty and the truck was serviced in an attempt to correct the systemic problem. It is Chrysler's position that the environment is the cause of the problem not the engineering of the truck. Their are millions of cars and trucks with sunroofs that are left outside that don;t have leaks or electrical problems because of poor drainage. We have 32 pages of invoices from the Chrysler service dept, the vast majority are electronic problems. When we called Chrysler corp. And finally spoke to someone today 6/24/16, we were told its the environment we can't speak to anyone higher then her, case closed, life time warranty voided for electrical issues.
In June 2016 I began having problems with my vehicle shuts off at a stop sign stop light seems like the rpms goes down and the car shut off with no advance warning I have to start the car two or three times in order for to get it to restart took it to the dealer $100 service fee and they didn't find anything wrong with it I've had the spark plugs changed the spark plug wires change the throttle body assembly change and actually I'm kind of getting afraid to drive in the vehicle because I never know when it's going to shut off and I don't want anyone to run in the back of me.
The clock spring is broken. Chrysler doesn't have the part and claim it is not a safety issue. I think anything involving the inflation of the airbag is a safety issue.
I just keep having to replace the turning signal module. The turn signal hesitates at times and then the opposite signal will come on or no signal at all. So far there has been no accident but clearly there's a defect in the system for this to keep happening. I'm having the same problem with the emergency signals also, they may or may not come on. Before I have to pay to have this replaced again it would be nice for someone to contact me in regards to this matter.
Takata recall - just received recall - 3-2016. Was in accident 02-2015 involving head-on collision - air bags did not deploy - vehicle was impounded - pd as well as impound lot personnel and autobody shop adjacent all questioned why airbags had not deployed. Vehicle had to be inspected prior to my being able to remove it from pound for safety concerns. Was advised to have dealer check airbags and why no deploy. This was done and dealer advised only sensors are working. No further explanation. I have continued to drive vehicle. Then received this recall notice r25 / NHTSA 15v-313 and started do some research. I should have been notified months ago on this recall and does this defect have any effect of bags not deploying when they should? at time of collision I was traveling on city street and was rear-ended, side-swiped multiple times with eventual head-on collision - winter storm conditions / the vehicle that struck me after first impact slid uphill coming down and hitting side of car several times in a bounce off manner before head-on collision (head-on happened -before I even realized I had been struck in rear or side)- state farm claim 065v22149 - no one listened to my concerns and those expressed by pd officers and lot employees (who are daily exposed to this) about why airbags did not deploy. Also very delinquent in notification of recall.
When I was filling my gas tank gas started to dump all over the ground. There is an issue with the tank!.
Rounding corner when steering completely locked up; not allowing me to turn vehicle to make curve. Ran through field into electrical box. Almost ran in to house. Fortunately, my significant other is an experienced driver and was able to react quickly to ensure his safety. However, this vehicle was bought for my 15 year old son to drive when he gets his license. Luckily, he was not driving the car as he would not have had the experience to handle this accident without fatally injuring himself and/or others. I found a recall notice on these vehicles after the accident; when I called I was told that our vehicle is not covered under recall (actually, no recall at all - what?). The engine sounds loud and whiny (fan sounding) and the running board was partially broken off, as well as a small dent in the passenger door (driver's side). Chrysler is not helping at all - refusing to acknowledge the problem. Where do I turn?.
My compliant is specific to the tpms tire pressure monitoring system installed by Chrysler. When trying to fill my tires the threads on the tpms sensor separated from the stem leaving me unable to add air to the tire. The repair required the replacement of the sensor. In speaking with the tire repair shop they indicated the Chrysler sensors use a white metal thread section which commonly fails in cold climates. The separation of the threads led to additional pressure loss and could potentially fail under normal driving conditions.
My 2007 Chrysler Aspen was in "park" at a gasoline station. The car shifted into reverse while I was filling the tank. I tried to jump in the car as it was rolling and was drug along the cement. The car was eventually stopped when the door hit a cement pole. This resulted in approximately $2200 in damages to the door of the vehicle and quite a few cuts, scrapes and bruises on my body. The car had shifted out of gear several times before (usually while I was in reverse) and had been reported to Chrysler, but because they couldn't get the car to do it while it was in the shop, they refused to fix it. The key also would stick when starting the car leaving it to rev while I tried to get the key out. I was told by the repairman that Chrysler was aware of these issues, but until they found a fix there was nothing they could do. I have read where other Chrysler models were recalled for these same issues, but the Aspen has never been included in the recall. I have since traded in the vehicle for another brand because of these issues.
