The manufacturer stop making a part that can fix my car. It’s at the Ford dealership in opelika, alabama and they cannot find a part to make the car safe. Please contact and pull the car for analysis to save lives. We love this car and the ndsd said it does not qualify. Please call them and ask if this vehicle there and reason cannot be fixed so we can get something for the car.
My 2008 Chrysler Aspen floor board and seat belts are drenched with water when it rains. The truck is leaking and allowing water to get inside the body of the truck. I had to replace my radio and other computer components in my truck because this is what the dealership told me was the problem. My truck was fixed at lander's Chrysler Dodge and Jeep in southaven, ms about 2 years ago. It's now doing the same thing again. This has to be a defect of the truck because I have not had any other major problems. The first repair cost me over $2000 dollars. Because of the water leaks, my truck carries a molded smell. My doors have to be oiled for the rust. I have to use a towel to wrap the seat belt. The water stands in the floor on the driver's side floor board. Now, my check engine light, eps light, traction light, and a clicking sound under the hood and heater malfunction persists. Please help! please investigate.
Suspension: every time you hit a bump or pot hole the vehicle throws you across the lane. Fuel tank: every time you fill the gas tank up and when the pump clicks off the gas spits out of the tank and lands all over you and the vehicle. Electrical: the dashboard will light up with the oil symbol flashing on and off. Air conditioning: the compressor blows hot air and now the engine speeds up like it's going to explode.

Vehicle engages 4wd lo and 4wd on it's own at any time. Driving this vehicle is dangerous at the transfer case engages automatically while driving. I can also hear 4wd engaging while locking the vehcile with the key fob. This is a well documented issue on the internet and I have read hundreds of stories of people with the same issue. Dodge/Chrysler will replace the transfer case motor which temporarily alleviates the issue. The problem is electrical and dangerous. At the very least, this problem can destory a differential and in the worst case, cause a vehicle to go out of control on a highway/motorway. This issue is prevalent in Dodge durango and Chrysler Aspen vehicles.
While driving speedometer was reading 0 miles while the car was in motion. Put the car in drive it was reading reverse. Put the car in reverse it was reading drive. Lights flickering were the mileage was reading then finally light completely out for the milage.
The svc 4wd indicator light won't go off and the vehicle is stuck in 4x4.
Steering problems had rack and pinion replaced, inner tire rods replaced, lost control of vehicle, outer right tire rods broken, very fortunate my family and I not hurt (70mph on i95), replace outer tire rod, play in steering replace steering yoke. Also water gets into electrical system shorting out computer. Do not know how water gets in, can not see from inside of vehicle, but can sometimes hear water sloshing around.
Vehicle shut off for no apparent reason while entering onto an expressway. Loss of power steering made vehicle difficult to control to safely get onto the shoulder. Sudden loss of speed made the vehicle a further hazard. Once on the shoulder, the vehicle could be physically keyed off, then restarted without issue. Cause of failure is unknown.
The overhead control module has failed 3 times in the last 2 years. We are being asked to cover it our of pocket again even though the part should be under the 12 month warranty. Chrysler customer service tells me that since it was replace under warranty the last time (12 months ago) our consumer warranty goes back to the one we purchased the first time it failed and won't cover it this time.

We bought the Chrysler Aspen with the hemi engine new in 2007. The following year the problem began to rear its ugly head. Constant electrical problems due to water intrusion from the sun roof due to poor drainage. Truck was serviced numerous times by Chrysler with no positive results. Truck is hazardous to drive because all dash board lights will go on when it's raining or after its rained which causes a distraction while driving. This issue has happened while driving on a highway at 65 mph, city streets and also while the truck is stationary. This issue has been documented numerous times and Chrysler has made no effective engineering remedy. They even blame the environment I. E. Trees for causing the problem as refusal to honor their warranty. We purchased the truck with a lifetime warranty and the truck was serviced in an attempt to correct the systemic problem. It is Chrysler's position that the environment is the cause of the problem not the engineering of the truck. Their are millions of cars and trucks with sunroofs that are left outside that don;t have leaks or electrical problems because of poor drainage. We have 32 pages of invoices from the Chrysler service dept, the vast majority are electronic problems. When we called Chrysler corp. And finally spoke to someone today 6/24/16, we were told its the environment we can't speak to anyone higher then her, case closed, life time warranty voided for electrical issues.
I began accelerating onto a ramp to enter onto a major highway and my Aspen completely loss all power suddenly. The engine just shut down including power all electronics. I had to let the car glide to the shoulder, put it in park and restart the car, which it stared as it always has. This has never happened before nor did it happen again. I had the car checked out and they couldn't find anything wrong. Being that this happened while entering a busy highway, a serious accident could have been caused.
When using the left blinker the right blinker will intermittently start blinking. I am concerned this could cause an accident. It will happen while in motion and sometimes when stopped.
Takata recall. The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Aspen. The contact stated that while driving at any speed, the air bag warning light remained illuminated as a chime sounded. In addition, the contact stated that while driving, the vehicle stalled without warning. The contact would restart the vehicle and it resumed driving. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v313000 (air bags) and stated that the part needed for the repair was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000.
For no known reason my 2009 Chrysler Aspen 4x4 will engage on its own, I have repeatedly taken it in to the dealership (which by the way is horrible) they can not figure out what the problem is . However since I have a lifetime warranty they have claimed I need every single part covered under the warranty with not results. The first time I called the dealership regarding this I was told to bring the truck in immediately as this is an extremely dangerous problem due to the fact when it is engaged the truck will loose power. It engaged while I was on the freeway doing 70 mph and dropped instantly to 20 mph and would not go over 35mph. My overhead console, dash and radio at random go out. According to the dealership I needed a new radio 3 times each time the radio would start working again for the same reason it stopped, unknown. I turn on the turn signal they flash between left, right and hazard.
Exhibiting typical problems related to tipm failure. Has never stalled on me while in motion, but will display "no bus" & gage needles shoot up & down. Car won't start.
Two weeks ago, we had the air bag repaired at the dealer due to a recall. Today, I tried to turn on my car, it would not turn on and all inside lights are flashing. I towed it to the same dealer and they told me that the electric modules could be the problem, they suggested to change the front control panel and charge me $1,600. If problem persist, they might need to check other modules, I. E. $4,000-6,000 charge. Before changing the air bag recall, I never had a problem. Can you help please.
Turn signal stops and even blinks in the opposite direction.
The lift gate in the back that is commonly known as the trunk the power immediately shut the door on my head and the impact did not cause the truck to go back up, I had to get from under the life gate I bumped my head in several places and was nauseated all day on Sunday with a headache I did not go to the doctor, I have moved 1000 miles away from home and felt I could not drive myself to the hospital . If it were my grandchild it would be fatal but I have moved to georgia. There are several issues with the truck including the engine light never goes off and I have had multiple repairs on the truck. I am an educated person, the treasurer for fulton county schools, I am worried that this truck is experiencing problems. I would like to be paid for this truck hitting me in my head, $ 8000 mmediately and the repairs freely fixed.
Dash is still illuminated, radio turns on by itself and can't lock doors with the car turn to off position and key out of ignition. Car door continues dinging noise as if key is in position. Drains the battery. When you give the battery a charge the car will cut off while driving because battery is too weak. We replaced the battery 3 times in one year. Chrysler dealer cannot find the issue. They state the Aspen is known to have drain batteries quickly. You can drive over a small bump or pot hole and car will jump across the road. Placed brand new tires and car is aligned perfectly but still makes the car jump. At highway speeds the car will move to another person's driving lane on dual highway when hitting a bump. This is not safe for anyone and scares my family. One day, if we hit a bump, I might side swipe/crash into a passing car or rollover off the road.
The engine light remains on constantly despite being repaired at least three times. We have been advised that it has been repaired, however, the light remains on. Two separate repair shops have worked on the issue and have been unable to get the light to turn off. We have spent substantial funds trying to repair this issue and no one is able to get light to turn off.
The airbag sensor light is constantly chiming on and off. The automatic trunk door opens and then shuts abruptly with force which can cause seriously injury. I contacted Chrysler and was told that they do not have any recalls for my vehicle and that I would need to take it to the dealership and have it assessed. Very frustrating to have to pay the dealership for issues that really should the manufacturers responsibility!!! shame on Chrysler for not taking responsibility for the defects!!!.
Hello, I am the owner of a 2008 Aspen. I recently took the vehicle to a safety car seat checkpoint and was recommended to contact you by the officer concerning the seat belts. They don't lock when pulled all the way out like other vehicles (I. E. Notable resistance when trying to secure a car seat in place). I have also noticed this when switching car seats in a durango that my brother owns. I know the belts lock upon braking the vehicle. Also, I have had an issue where the vehicle has shut off, and I have lost power steering and all electrical control after topping off at a gas station. We promptly took it to the local dealer who did a computer update but it continues to happen anytime we top off with gas. As long as we don't overfill above the first click of the gas handle, the vehicle doesn't cut off spontaneously while driving. My husband has visited forums online where this has been as issue for other owners. Fortunately, I was in a neighborhood two miles down the road when it cut off with me and my children so was able to coast to a stop. However, I feel it is a big safety issue as it doesn't happen immediately and if I had been on a busy road could have potentially resulted in an accident as I had no control of the vehicle.
When driving, my check engine light randomly comes on. When I get gas it goes off for awhile and then will pop back on. Also more recently when driving my blinker light and sound did not appear when turning my blinker on, as well as my radio has ceased up it won't allow me to change the station or do anything with it. It is a touch screen radio.
I pushes the button for my lift gate and proceeded to put my groceries in car when it automatically started shutting again. It hit my head extremely hard, I have a concussion.
Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Aspen. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds the vehicle would suddenly shut off and after restarting the engine the vehicle would operate as normal. The contact indicated that the failure would frequently occur when making a sharp turn in either direction. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic on multiple occasions but the cause of the failure could not be determined. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 100, 000. Jft.
Turn signals function intermittently when activated. Right signal seems to work okay when activated but right signal light also comes on when stalk is pushed down to indicate a left turn. Trying to indicate a left turn can also result in no signal light at all. This can confuse other drivers and has resulted in several near misses on lane changes and at intersections when turning left. Seems to be affected by cold temperatures and at the present time goes away after car is warmed for 15-20 minutes. Chrysler forums have indicated this to be a problem on Aspens. No recalls issued yet.
My lift gate on my 2008 Chrysler Aspen struck me in my head as I was standing under my gate to put something in my trunk of my vehicle which gave me a serious concussion. I feel as though this is very dangerous because of the speed of which the gate hit me in the head. Chrysler did not pay for this defect in which they told me it would be repaired after they sent a adjuster from detroit mi. To inspect my vehicle that was found defective. Thankyou.
2008 Chrysler Aspen direction signal will switch from left to right during a turn. It is intermittent at this time.
My turn signals are malfunctioning in my 2007 Chrysler Aspen . When I hit it to left, many times it will automatically start blinking right. Many times when it is blinking left, it will change and just start blinking right with no touching anything. Many times when I have it blinking left or right, it will stop blinking and not do anything at all. I would say 80% or more of the times it does one of these 3 things.
On this date and at least a few others our Aspen unintentionally accelerated. It usually accelerates from a dead stop after the SUV is shifted into drive with foot on the brake pedal. It will also occasionally accelerate when slowing down before coming to a stop. Chrysler dealerships have no solutions since service managers have had no previous experiences with this problem. So they say.
