Front Air Bag problems of the 1997 Chrysler Cirrus

Four problems related to front air bag have been reported for the 1997 Chrysler Cirrus. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2005

Both tie rods on the left rear tire broke causing the tire to lock up. Which caused loss of control of the car sending the car into a ditch. Front end of car stopped in ditch and rear then came over landing upside down. None of the air bags empolyed.

2 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 06/02/2000

When shifting out of park into drive vehicle idled high, causing vehicle to run into another vehicle, air bags deployed.

3 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 04/17/1999

Vehicle wouldn't start due to fuel pump failure. Once part was replaced, old fuel pump showed burned areas. Fuel pump is availabe for investigations. Consumer hit a deer and had four thousand dollars of damage due to a 35-40 mph impact. Deer hit in front of vehicle and smashed into the windshield. Upon impact, air bags did not go off.

4 Front Air Bag problem

Failure Date: 05/29/1997

Consumer was driving and pulled out from roadside into traffic and there was a construction site, a pedestrian stepped out. When consumer pressed brake pedal there was no braking, and consumer rearended vehicle in front. Also, the air bags did not inflate, even at 30mph.
