While driving the engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, who found that fuel vapors were leaking from the gas tank. The dealer replaced the fuel tank seals, but the engine light continued to illuminate. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the mechanic determined that the vehicle should not be driven because of safety precautions and recommended replacing the fuel tank. The seal was replaced again however there was a small indentation where tank seal fit.

Plastic piece that is attached to gas tank is melting inside of gasoline pump, causing vehicle to stall. Dealership is aware of problem.

3 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2000

I just felt this problem needed to be reported since it involved gas leakage. My vehicle started by leaking a small amount of gas and then progressed to larger volumes. I beleived this was possibly a problem that needed to be reported since it could involve injuries if left undetected and unrepaired.
