The contact owns a 2000 Chrysler Cirrus. The contact stated that the fuel line hose was rusted and fractured. The failure made it impossible to refuel the vehicle with very limited amounts of gasoline. The vehicle was neither diagnosed nor repaired. The VIN was not available. The failure and current mileage was 143,000.

2000 Chrysler Cirrus lx 2. 4 liter engine. Car parked, with engine off. Fire starts in engine compartment, started by either the fuel lines on the top of the engine or the power steering unit on the rear left of the engine by the reservoir. There were no signs of overheating, no smoke and no strange noises prior to the fire. The fire started approximately 10 mins after I got out of the vehicle.

The fuel pump recall #06e091000, hood attachments #97v095000, and the ignition switch #98v183000 were the 3 recalls. All 3 recalls were completed but the problems were not corrected, and the service dealer and manufacturer were not willing to correct these issues further under the recall.
