Three problems related to steering rack and pinion have been reported for the 1999 Chrysler Concorde. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Steering gear is faulty, as diagnosed by a Chrysler authorized service rep. Steering gear emits loud clunking noises when vehicle is driven on non smooth roads. Dealer refuses to replace steering gear under warranty conditions. Condition has worsened during last 15000 miles.
There is loosness in steering wheel when turning a corner. Dealer has replaced rack and pinion. Please provide additional information.
I have been without my 1999 car (5) times. My complaint regarding the "front left" has been the same each time the care was in for service. Each time the "symptom" was not fixed. This time the rack and pinion is being replaced.
