general problems of the 2000 Chrysler Concorde

Four problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 2000 Chrysler Concorde. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/22/2007

Our 2000 Chrysler concord shot out a parking spot when my husband started the car. Toyota isn't the only vehicle with this fault. Children nearby were just missed. The car brushed one teen. We never had any previous issues like this. The car sped out of the space, hit another car in the next section over which hit another car in the next section over- not next to- but parking sections apart. All three vehicles were significantly damaged. Daimlerchrysler denied any malfunction. We had financial loss as a result of this incident.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 12/28/2004

When the consumer placed her foot on brake, to place the gear into reverse, the motor started revving up. Then all of a sudden it just jumped into reverse, car spun in a complete circle hitting another car.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Car accelerated on its own. I had to hit a tree to stop the car. The air bags did not deploy upon impact. Tires continued spinning after impact until I turned off ignition. More detailed report was sent to NHTSA web master.

4 Vehicle Speed Control problem

While driving about 25 to 30 mph driver approached a red light, took foot off the accelerator, and applied the brakes,then put foot back on the accelerator, and vehicle stalled. . All dashboard lights came on as an indication that the vehicle had shut down/stalled. Vehicle stalled.
