Wheel Rim problem #1

Aluminum rim tires on 2002 Chrysler Concorde develop leaks along seal with tire bead. Leads to slow leak and resulting low pressure tire. I was told by goodyear service center that this is common problem with these Chrysler aluminum wheels. To extent that someone does not notice tire loss of pressure, driving with severely underinflated tire could result in catastrophic tire failure. I have taken tire in for service - (remove tire and clean rim) but it is still leaking. I view this as a manufacturing or design defect, the rim should not fail to hold pressure.

Wheel Cover/hubcaps problem #2

1. Car operated normally. Age 2 yrs. , 5 months; 21,460 milees. Stopped at stop sign, then proceeded forward. 2. 50 to 75 ft. Beyond stop, left front wheel hub & bearing failed without warning. Left front wheel turned in, perhaps 40-60degrees from straight track. Right front wheel unaffected; remained on straight track. Left front wheel didn't respond to steering after failure. Car came to a stop. 3. Car towed to dealer. New assembly was in stock; repaire made within one hour. Old part returned to mfr. As it was still under warranty. Comment: had this happened at highway speeds, the failure would have been catastrophic.

Wheel problem #3

Consumer had to use excessive force to remove the wheels from vehicle, the lug nuts unscrewed normally, however a sledge hammer had to be used to remove the wheels.
