Three problems related to structure have been reported for the 2001 Chrysler LHS. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Dashboard is splitting on a 2001 Chrysler Lhs. The split/tear started small (less than 3 inches) and over the past year has grown to approximately 10-12 inches. This was not due to outside action or force.
Splitting dashboard I noticed that is was a slight slit in the dashboard throughout the summer it started getting bigger, as time went on it has gotten almost half foot long. I paid to have it repaired it cracked again in the same spot, I tried to repair it myself and it didn't look too good so I took it in to have it repaired again and they told me that they were afraid to fix because it was near my airbag and did not won't to be responsible for any damages of the airbag so I left it alone. I am afraid that it may affect the function of my airbag. I would like to have the dashboard replaced but the dealership quoted me over $2000 to have this done and it is not in my budget.
While driving 60 mph the plastic 25 feet of trim attached to the front hood flew off and over the vehicle. Consumer has a concern that the trim could have struck another vehicle and caused an unexpected crash. The dealer was not notified.
