One problem related to automatic transmission column shift has been reported for the 1997 Chrysler New Yorker. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Consumer had the vehicle running in the parked position when the dog in the vehicle jumped out of the seat and knocked the gear into drive. This caused the vehicle to surge forward at least two feet before the emergency brake kicked in to stop the vehicle.
