1 Service Brakes problem of the 2000 Chrysler New Yorker

Failure Date: 03/02/2026

The contact owns a 1993 n/a Chrysler New Yorker. The contact stated that the vehicle was experiencing longer braking distances and that the abs and check brakes warning light was illuminated. The contact had taken the vehicle to a local dealer and was unable to determine the cause of the failure because the dealer did not have the proper tool for the diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 96v099000 (service brakes, hydraulic). The contact stated that there was an extended warranty for the abs components for 10 years/100,000 miles, except for the brake actuator piston assembly and the pump-motor assembly. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 88,300.

2 Service Brakes problem of the 1992 Chrysler New Yorker

Failure Date: 09/15/2014

The brake motor makes a noise, the pedal is hard. When I took it to the dealership because there is a lifetime warranty on replacing the brake actuator piston assemblyand the pump motor, I was told it was not these parts but the accumulator which needed replaced. The car is unsafe to drive and will go out at any given time. I feel since the dealership " mcloughlin Chrysler Jeep" service writers are on "ommission" and not hourly wages, that they are telling me I have to spend over $600 to replace a part that should be covered on this safety recall. The dealership is trying to make money off me instead of fixing the part that is out on my car.

3 Service Brakes problem of the 1993 Chrysler New Yorker

Failure Date: 09/04/2013

The abs pump went out on the vehicle on August 30, 2013. It has been at the dealer since September 4, 2013. I have information stating that the pump is covered under a lifetime warranty and Chrysler corporation has given me the run around on it saying that it does not mean lifetime since it failed again after the original recall repair. I am sorry but I thought lifetime meant lifetime according to the documents that I have and read. They refuse to provide me with an alternate car to drive so I can get to work stating that is not covered either. They are the poorest excuse of a business that I have ever dealt with and tell you something different with each customer service representative you speak to. They cannot even tell the same lies twice. I was first informed that they couldn't get the parts, then told they were on back order and now I am told they do not have an eta for the parts. I will not advise anyone to purchase any of their products since they do not honor warranties or stand behind their products.
