The headlights intermittantly would not work and then stopped working completely. I believe this is due to the wiring harness issue that was recall on many other 05 Pacificas under 05v066000. My VIN does not pull up that it was affected in this recall, but I have this and another issue that I submitted a complaint for that should be covered under the recall. The chrsler company said even though it appears to be the same issue in the recall, since my VIN does not show to be appart of that recall, they will not do anything to help fix the costly issue. I do not know where else to go for help. I submitted a complaint through chrsler and they said they would not help unless there was a recall expansion that eventually included my VIN, but not to count on it. I told Chrysler that just because this VIN was missed in the investigation that it was the right thing to do for them to fix it. . I was told they could not and would not help. Thank you. .

2005 Chrysler Pacifica. Consumer writes in regards to engine and headlight problems. The consumer stated the vehicle stalled twice, within the last 3 years. Both times, he was making a hard turn, when the engine stopped. He wa able to maintain control of the vehicle and re-started it, without any problem. The vehicle was inspected by a mechanic, who found nothing wrong, other than throttle body build-up, which he cleaned. Also, the headlight would intermittently go out. The bulb did not seem to fit securely in the harness, which caused a short and eventually the bulb blew out. The problem seemed to be more prominent on the passenger side. The driver's side bulb was less than an ideal fit, but there were no problems with it going out. The bulb was replaced numerous times, along with the wiring harness.

My 2005 Chrysler Pacifica has a defective headlight harness but is not covered under the recall because of the VIN #. I contacted Chrysler but they said OH well, take to dealership and pay for the repairs. I only get 7volts of power to the left headlight and the right I have 10. 5volts- barely enough to light the right headlight. Even though my VIN # is not on the list to be recalled, it appears Chrysler did not fix this problem in the later VIN # Pacifica's. Chrysler needs to fess up that this is an engineering snapfu that is dangerous to us since the headlight will only fail, and that is at night when safety is a big issue.
Headlight bulbs keep burning out. At least 6 times since 2007. The first time both lamps were replaced even though only one had gone out, the rest of the times they were replace individually and every time sylvania bulbs were used. I feel this constitutes a safety problem and not normal maintenance. Also the drivers door lock mechanism broke in Dec. 2009 where the door would not latch close and had to be tied shut the take it for repair. I feel this is also a serious safety failure.
I currently have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica touring fwd that was purchased on June 28,2008. Since the time of purchase I have had to replace my driver's side headlight bulb 3 times. I have placed a call to the dealer I purchased the car from and also Chrysler's customer service. They tell me that my VIN number does not appear on any recalls that they have. I however, do not understand and have never had a vehicle that has needed a headlight replaced those many times in one year.
Headlights and dash lights alternate erratically from bright to dim at lower engine speeds. Sometimes almost off then very bright. Have had it several times to dealer and only replaced headlight switch after I was informed was normal operation on the first two visits. Very annoying at stop lights at night. Some times think will go out all together.

Several problems with replacing headlights annually about three months apart since ownership 10/06, problem with engine light repeatedly coming on - was advised by certified mechanic it's the fuel tank, very expensive to replace or fix.
: the contact stated a recall letter was received for the headlights, #05v066000, and the vehicle was taken to the dealership. The vehicle was at the dealership for two days, but the parts were not available therefore the vehicle was taken back by the owner. Seven months later, a second dealership was contacted to perform the recall repair. Upon inspection; the dealership determined the recall work had not been done. When contacting the manufacturer it was stated the previous dealership reported the work had been done and a second repair would not be authorized. The vehicle does not have the problem associated with the recall.
The left headlight would come on and off on its own. This causes poor visibility while driving at night. Driver took vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that the connector needed to be replaced.
