The car has a lot of dangerous problems. For one I had my truck diagnosed and code came back as gas cap. Then it was electric problems after the replacement of the gas cap. Check engine light was still on. So I went for another diagnostic now is coming up power train. Went to 3 to 6 transmission shops and all told me different reasons solenoid, pcm, tcm, or maybe it’s just shot all together is what the last shop told me. That’s a $3,000 repair and that’s ridiculous after I had all those pieces replaced. My car stills doesn’t shift gears as I’m driving I can’t really go over 40 or 50 mph because of high rpm’s. The car doesn’t shift gears and I’m hearing a loud whining noise as I drive. I was on the high way and could get off fast enough because of high rpm’s and the car not shifting and also automatically switches from drive to auto-stick on it’s on. Pls help me.
The engine cradle has rotted and engine started to fall out. It took months to find a replacement, now I am told the bolts needed are discontinued and no one at Chrysler or mopar can tell me what size bolts & nuts are needed to put it together. The control arm came but not bolts or nuts. The engine carriage came, but no nuts & bolts. So, over $1k in parts, looks like it will need to go to the crushers for a loss of $2500 (with cost of purchase). Fyi one guy one ebay is selling 1 bolt for $105. 00 plus shipping.
My 07 Chrysler Pacifica touring will accelerate on 25 or more miles it not go more then 70 miles per hour on freeway when it hits 70 a ticking noise startes my mal function light is on. Have an appointment with dealership tomorrow. Just don't understand why they haven't recall them for this issue.
Car will intermittently not start on first attempt. It starts after key is turned to off, waiting for 60 seconds, than a successful start. One incident where the vehicle completely sundown while in operation on a city street. Dealership where the vehicle was originally purchased completed the alleged repair. Dealership said it was battery, efficient cold cranking amps. Battery replaced. Eight hundred dollars later. The problem still exists. The times that starting failed the vehicle was always parked for thirty minutes or more. The problem began in April. The vehicle is in excellent shape. 118k miles. Vehicle has been maintained according to Chrysler guidelines. Purchased new.
When slowing down or mid driving the car stalls and turns off. Turns back on but still shakes to turn off. At red light car will stall and must be kept in neutral so it wont shut off. Then when put into drive car is about to stall again and then jumps when gas is pressed to move. This has been happening for the past 3 months on and off.
I am having issues with my vehicle gears, when I put it in park it will not come out of park. I understand there is an open recall for this issue, however my make and model is not affected by it and am disturbed to think that I am not covered under the recall.
Takata recall since November my car has randomly been stalling while I'm driving leaving me with no power steering or brakes. I have constantly taken it to get checked and no one can seem to find a problem with my engine or anything else. When I did some research I found out that previous model years had the same problem and were recalled.
Car stalls randomly while driving with no warning or engine codes to repair leaving you with no power steering or brakes. This same problem was recalled on the 2005 and 2006 models with f44 safety recall, but not on the 2007 and 2008. Happened 5 times in the last 3 weeks.
2nd time in 6 months a control sensor to engine seems to short out while driving cutting off power to engine while driving leaving me with power and no acceleration and power steering as all engine, oil, traction dash lights come on and car is rendered dead and must pull over by coasting dangerously to side of highway. Twice Chrysler has put my life in jeopardy by car suddenly dying while driving at high speeds.
The vehicle shuts off while driving. Hard to steer and have to come to a complete stop in order to restart.
Catalytic converter are bad. I had to replace both converts 3 times. If you research this several people has had the same problem motor mounts, I have replaced then 3 times. Ignition coils have been replaced several times. The same 1. The Chrysler Pacifica is garbage. It was garbage then, it's garbage now. Chrysler has many problems with there cars and they are never recalled of fixed . All Chrysler do is stop making that car.
There is a part on the car that goes bad ( # 04880417aa) cant find it anywhere not angry just need help please !! the car is becoming very unsafe to drive .
I drove in my drive way on Sunday on mon. Morning I got in and the transmission is out, I guess it. Will not go anywhere in any gear. Staionary if this is a recalled see call !!me, I do not have $2000. 00 to fix it thank you'll.
When u driving the car and come to a stop sign or stop light the car turns completely off and no lights are anything comes on to show that there is a problem. It starts back up but when u go to the next light it cranks back off again. It has not cranked off when u driving a distance yet, but when make a complete stop at a light or stop sign it cranks off again. This has happened at least 50 times since June 22nd. I've tested the battery and the alternator and they are fine but the problem is still happening.
"takata recall" at 60 mph the vehicle starts to shake. Brand new tires balaced properly, new caliper, and wheel aligjnment. Electrical light on dash keeps coming on and can not exceed 40 mph and vehicle ahuts off sometimes leaving no steerimg or breaks.
While driving on the highway at speeds over 40 mph, the car stalls and restarts; it is an extremely frightening experience. It happens when accelerating. It has happened approximately 10 times. We have attempted to fix this 3 times with our mechanic. As no codes are triggered, it is a guess as to what to address. Based on my research, this is not an isolated incident with this car. I advise anyone not to buy this car and I hope that Chrysler recalls this model to save a life. We have been very lucky.
Engine stalls when shift into d, but not when shift into r. It started doing this Feb. 14th 2016. There is no check engine light therefore no obdii code. It stall when I stop, start back up and stall as soon as I shift to d. It's my daughter's car she got the car in November 2015.
When it is hot or when heat is on for a while air bag light comes on and sun roof leak as a result it smells like mildew in my car I don't remover exact day but these issues have been happen ever since I bought the car last year . . But last guy only cam on once in a while and sun roof was stained but never leaked as bad as now but always leaked in passenger side front this year it has rain more so I can see it and my car smells.
I purchased a vehicle end of may 2014. Vehicle has since started cutting off while driving with no warning. I have called Chrysler and was referred to one of there dealers in oakville connecticut. They had the car for a week and was unable to find the problem. I took it home and the next day the car shut off while driving, I called the dealer again and was told to bring it back and its been there since September 2, 2014 and they still have not found problem. Its very frustrating that I have purchased a vehicle for safe driving and I fear for my family and myself to drive this vehicle and cause an accident and getting hurt.
Vehicle couldn't pass emissions, had to take it shop for small evap leak. This service cost me $900 to fix and during service fuel pump module needed replacing do to how car was made to fix leakage. This still didn't turn off lights in dashboard had to pay another $50 for esim(loose fuel cap) had already replaced fuel cap twice.
While driving approximately 35 mph, car lost power and steering became very difficult. After reaching a stop I put the car in park and was able to restart it. This has now happened on 5 separate occasions, with children in the vehicle. Dealership service was not helpful in remedying this problem. Additionally, despite recalls for this problem in previous years, there is no apparent solution for this. This problem has occurred both in my neighborhood and on surface streets, which make this a significant safety hazard as there is minimal (if any) opportunity to get the vehicle to a safe location to re-start. I have had regular service to the vehicle and it has been used primarily for work and errands. However, the motor mounts have had to be replaced 3 times and this latest issue has compounded the problem.
Second time this happened in two months. Driving in dry, pleasant weather conditions on residential road less than 30 mph. Car stalled--lost power steering, brakes, etc. Oil light definitely was on. Coasted to side of the road and turned car off then on. Car started right back up. Oil light was off now. Took it to a mechanic, who said no computer code was generated, although there was an abs code (which appeared to be totally unrelated). Electronic throttle body appeared clean, but took it apart and checked it. This is a dangerous condition similar to other stalling problems I have read about on 2004-06 Pacificas, and that had led to a recall on older models. Called Chrysler recall, but they have no record on this problem. Why won't Chrysler do anything on this one?.
Our 2007 Pacifica continues to have problems. One Chrysler dealer stated it was safe to drive and good to go. 2 days later studs on tire broke off. Other side studs were loose and had to be tightened. We took vehicle to another Chrysler dealer who inspected vehicle and had a list of things wrong including ,rear and front motor mounts being broke. Power steering fluid leaking, transmission lines leaking, rear brake pads and front rotors need replacing and wheel alignment right camber off in front and rear alignment off and right toe is off. The first dealer stated they did a front and rear wheel alignment and less than3 weeks later the alignment is that far off. Something radically wrong with this vehicle, and/or first Chrysler dealer. All of this after going through 3 plus sets of shocks and 2 tie rod ends and now another wheel alignment! very unsafe, vehicle with still undiagnosed reason for all this. Chrysler insists the vehicle can be repaired. We do not trust that statement any longer. It is our belief that this car is defective. We believe something in the suspension or design is causing all of these parts to continue breaking, and continuous alignment, tire, brake problems. Now motor mounts and power steering, and transmission leaks. We did not get any value from this car purchase. Chrysler should be held responsible for the defective car we are stuck with. We could have been injured twice already by tires almost falling of car. Now we need to worry about fires from leaking lines and also worry about broken motor mounts. Help us please! this car needs to be taken off the road and we need to be reimbursed. In the meantime we cannot safely drive car any distances as we wait for an answer from Chrysler corp. On what they can do for us.
Car will turn off unexpectantly with no error code/check engine light while driving down the road! it does not happen on a normal basis but it has happened about 10 times since I purchased this vehicle in March 2014.
When cornering at low speeds there is a loud rubbing noise (like a tire rubbing in the wheel well) coming from the front of the vehicle. I can feel it both in the steering wheel and brake pedal. When I got new tires, I had the mechanic check the wheel wells for rub marks and he did not find any. He stated that the tires were not rubbing anywhere.
I was driving along and all of a sudden it sounded like my tired popped and the car jerked and than felt like it was dragging along and kept making a popping noise until I came to a complete stop. I had to have the car towed to the garage. Transfer case had blown. Transfer case was replaced and less than a year later it went again, this time I was going 55mph and nearly went off the road. Transfer case was again replaced. I asked the garage why they thought it kept doing this and they said they did not know. . My tires are all the same size. Ichances of it going again are very likely. Very unsatisfied with this vehicle, I've had the carborater replaced, the right bearing replaced, the transfer case twice and I've only owned it 3 years. I will never buy a chrystler anything again.
Vehicle stalls intermittently while driving. Has occurred at speeds between 30 and 45mph. Both the traction control light and oil light will illuminate right before the stall occurs. This has occurred approximately 1 or 2 times per week, since purchasing the vehicle used, last month. The dealership has had it in their shop for several days, replacing the pcm and egr valve. Still not fixed at this time.
Just bought this vehicle from Dodge dealership. One four different occasions a couple at low speed <15 and a couple at higher speed >40 the vehicle stalls or turns off. You lose power steering (hard to control) and braking(hard to press pedal). No engine lights or warning lights to show failure anywhere. Vehicle starts right back up and may not do it again for weeks. From what I have been reading there is no sure findings to the cause and maybe a TSB out there by now shows the problem. I am worried about the quality or safety of my family should the wife be driving the vehicle at a rate of speed and it cut out on her and she panic or be in rush traffic. It not only endangers her but any vehicle around her. Before I take it to the dealership and pay lots of money I dont have I need to know what my options are and why it appears this has been an issue and not resolved. If you put in google 2007 Pacifica awd stalling while driving you get more than enough repsonses and it led me to here even. I would whole heartedly appreciate any and all information and actions I can do to get this fixed and resolved for my family.
While traveling at highway speeds the car simply turned off (engine stops just like you turned the key to off). Total loss of power steering and power braking. Coasted to side of road, where car was restarted. This problem is similar to a problem in may 2012 when the car while traveling at highway speeds turned itself off. Stored code at the time was c121c. Dealer was unable to determine cause in may 2012.
First week in June I sent my Chrysler Pacifica to athens Dodge Chrysler Jeep in bogart GA. The steering was locking up on my wife. I figured it was maybe the power steering. The tech informed me that the motor mounts were again broken and they replaced the right one for the third time. I read in social car chat rooms that the motor mounts are failing in just about all these type cars, and that Chrysler was not going to cover the costs. I now have a car that no one will buy or at least I wouldn't because it can't hold its own engine. I know this is a consumer concern just wanted to point that out. My main concern is the steering locking up with my family on board. Motor mounts are not supposed to break unless there is a major accident. In my opinion this is a manufacturers design flaw that they are dumping on us consumers. I mean if they told me the motor mounts were going to be a maintenance issue I would have never bought the car. This is absolutely ridiculous, and now my concern is the safety of my family. Please advise me on what I can do to find some kind of help with this. I am not the only one. Where else can I complain and steer others to. Kerry roe.
We owned a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica car for 3 months, 46000 miles approx, when purchased. After the first 3 months of ownership, the rear tires went completely bald , wires poking out, the car was bottoming out on every bump. The springs were weak we were told. The shocks were broken, the tires were completely out of line and the dealer did fix at their own expense. 2 new tires replaced , wheel alignment, two new shocks, and supposedly springs fixed. At approx. 8 months later the vehicle was again bottoming out. Once again we were told shocks broken. Chrysler was contacted and replaced shocks, dealer did wheel alignment and a tie rod end was replaced. In approximately 10 months we again noticed the car was making noise and bottoming out. Once again shocks were broken and the other tie rod end needed replacing. Chrysler customer care was notified from the first incident and subsequently at each additional occurence. The dealer paid at the first occurence, Chrysler provided shocks at second occurence, on the last occurence Chrysler required an inspection by a Chrysler dealer. Another tie rod was replaced. We were told by dealer car was good to go. We took trip to pick up family at airport and had to be towed. Upon reinspection 2 days later, we were told 2 studs had completely broken off left rear tire, and tire could have come off on freeway at speeds of 65 mph. They also discovered two lugs on right rear tire were loose. This was the second incident where our safety was at risk. 4 sets of shocks 2 tires 2 tie rod ends and 3 wheel alignments later. Very unsatisfied. The car is a safety hazard on the road. Suspension design flaw???.
Motor mounts are collapsed on 2007 Chrysler Pacifica.
We purchased this vehicle used, and from day one we noticed the transmission banged into gear. After numerous trips to the dealer and them unable to find the problem, I asked them to check the motor mounts. They discovered a broken mount, the repair cost me $440, this occurred at 46151 mi. Now at approx 74000 mi 2 more engine mounts have failed the bill this time will be $723. We do not drive aggressively or abuse this vehicle, after an online search this seems to be a defect in the Chrysler Pacifica line of cars. With the engine shifting in the engine compartment it will be only a matter of time before a fuel line, brake line or other vital line or hose will be compromised causing a fire or loss of vehicle control. I feel a recall should be issued and the defective part replaced and those who already replaced the defective part reimbursed.
