I pulled into a gas station for fuel and upon applying brakes, felt a slight shudder. After turning off the engine and fueling up, I started the car and put it in drive and it immediately shut the engine off. I tried a second time, same result. I was able to drive in reverse to a parking spot, and continued trying to drive forward, the engine would shut down each time. I noticed the electronic stability control light on the instrument panel was on. Not knowing what it meant, eventually called a tow service for help. Fortunately, home was only 45 minutes away. This is the same car that we have reported to this site for problems with the fuel system, that is, fuel gauge not working properly and also great difficulty in filling the fuel tank!!!.
