While driving, sometimes without warning, the car loses power(engine shuts off) the radio, heater/ac still work but no power from the engine. Sometimes the wheel and brakes lock up and I can barely get it off the road. Other times, I can pop it into neutral while driving and restart it. It's very scary and I have 3 kids in the car with me daily. It happens at random times, whether I just pull out or have driven several miles. It has happened driving slow and at faster speeds. It has been looked at by a certified Chrysler dealer. They drove it until it happened to them and don't know what is causing it. This happens at least once, sometimes twice everyday.
Driving in a parkig lot, electrical system just shut down. This is a recurring problem, same as on other Chrysler vehicles, however Chrysler refuses to issue a recall for this vehicle. There have been other chronic problems with this make of vehicle, but Chrysler refuses to address them with recalls. They just continue to ignore them, hoping the vehicle owner's will simply walk away from the vehicle. They have tried to get me to trade the vehicle in , numerous times.
Vehicle did not stop when heavy braking required to avoid crashing into the rear of a vehicle stopped at an intersection. Vehicle was stopped then proceeded slowly forward and required heavy braking due to a sudden stop of vehicle ahead. With full force applied to the brake peddle, vehicle seemed to release braking and accerate forward until stopped by colliding into other vehicle. Passengers thought driver pressed on accelerator and looked at drivers foot on brake peddle appling full force and steering to the left in an attempt to steer clear.
