Number of days your vehicle is down: indefinitely as of now there is no fix according to the dealership parts are at least 10 weeks out with them not knowing how to do the install once parts arrive number of repair attempts: there is no fix as of now but the vehicle has broken down 4 times parts for the transmission are on back order (at least ten weeks) and they do not know how to install the parts once they arrive first repair attempt date and problem: June 10, 2025 the van showed a message saying pull over as the vehicle will stop while we were on the highway heading to my daughters graduation. Initially. We were able to pull over that time and stop driving before the car turned off. We took the vehicle in and they inspected it for the recall. Most recently, the vehicle did it again on the highway. I was not being able to pull all the way over prior to the vehicle, losing power and stopping in the middle of the highway with my children inside. Voice of the customer / complaint: as of now there is no timetable for us to be able to return driving the vehicle which is extremely unsafe. We purposely got a seven passenger van to transport our entire family, and at this point we have no way to do. So. The dealership says they are unable to give us a loaner for that, and we are getting no assistance with this with no timetable. As far as when the vehicle will be fixed. Therefore, I’m requesting a buyback of the vehicle so that we can get something to transport our family as the vehicle is down. I am still having to pay for the car note without having anything to show for it. I cannot drive it as I don’t know when it will shut off. It is currently sitting at the dealer.

Dash message "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" included a red exclamation mark in the middle with a red triangle and a turtle in the bottom right. A yellow reduced speed type indicator in the top right and a check engine light all at the same time. Also a chime sounded. This occured in town moving around 35 mph. Dealer stated this exact VIN had already received a rebuilt trans around 50k miles from another dealer. Took dealer 2+ months to repair, and had to call many many times to encourage them to push to get it completed. Manufacturer seemed to delay sending parts because they can - no good reason provided. First power inverter module (pim) was replaced, but that did not resolve the issue. Then dealer rebuilt entire transmission. Dealer lead tech stated that a roller bearing near the bottom of the trans appeared to have start failing, which then causes a short and or some kind of damage with the electrical "phasers". Multiple conversations with lead technician and Chrysler cares indicate clearly that Chrysler is not investigating the issue deeply (they did not want any of the failed components, nor did they ask for details from dealer - are they even trying to resolve root cause. . . . This has been occurring since the earliest models). Chrysler should have a financial incentive to fix to remediate warranty repairs. Why can't chat gpt find literally anything on the web about the root cause, why is it nothing other than reports of the issue can be found??? nobody has done a root cause analysis. Is Chrysler paying to minimize bad press??? if Chrysler replaced entire trans with rebuilt one at 50k and now it failed again at 80k - when can I expect it to fail a third time?.

The battery went dead in the van. I opened the driver's door using the key from the key fob. However, because there was no power, I couldn't open any of the other doors or lift gate not even from the inside. There appears to be no manual override to open those doors. I couldn't get to portable charger because it was in the back. This could be a significant safety issue. If the battery is dead, the only way for passengers to exit the vehicle is through the driver's door.

6/21/25 , a Saturday, I stopped at a traffic light when gas saver function kicked in and shut car off. The car went into park mode by itself and parking brake engaged. The car would not start and had to be towed. It sat until Monday when I was able to start it and drive it to my mechanic's business a mile from my location and shut it off. Immediately after shutting it off it would not start again. My mechanic was able to start it a few days later and when he drove it about 5 miles it just shut off and wouldn't start again. Today he is replacing the starter and believes the gas saver function may have contributed to the increased wear on the starter leading to failure, as well as the heat from the catalytic converter located near the starter. I am very nervous about driving this car again and worry it may happen again when I am in traffic. This is a major safety problem if not resolved.

My wife was driving our 2022 pacific phev limited with 4 kids on board suddenly went into limp mode while driving northbound south of [xxx] on [xxx]. Turtle signal was on dash with just seconds to get off freeway on limp mode. Pacifica had to be towed to woodhouse Chrysler in sioux city where it remains to this day. Changed pcim and remains in limp mode. Chrysler approved hybrid transmission repair under hybrid warranty but dealer found not repairable and needs new transmission. I had to pull aside, shut off the vehicle, wait a few moments then start again. I brought the vehicle to the dealership on Nov 10, 2024.

Vehicle check engine light came on preventing state inspection, at same time message on dash states "service charging system" . Using the oem charger 120v. Many complaints online say clear the code and power cycle the circuit and charger. Did both and code persists. Battery not charging affecting fuel economy and raising emissions above the stated usage average due to no battery assist. Try clearing codes no luck. Obd code p0d27 is permanent. Try using oem level opus access, factory tech says its a known issue, tried clearing code no luck. This defect could cause vehicle to have no electric propulsion causing stall if gas engine died and lead to a collision. This defect should be recalled and corrected with a module or software update so generic scan tool or automatic monitor resets upon removal and replug of charging cable. Dealer tech says the idcm is the cause. 30625 miles. This is causing higher than expected emissions, gas costs, and possible accident risk.

While driving the vehicle, received a message to stop safely vehicle will shut off soon. The car stops responding to the gas pedal and I had to try to quickly find a safe place to park the vehicle. I am lucky that I was not on a major highway at the time as I had three young children in the vehicle. Once stopped I was unable to turn off the van. The vehicle start/stop button was not responding and it took a long time before I was able to turn off the vehicle to try to restart it. The message remained and the car had to be towed to a dealership. It is now with the dealership while they determine the cause of the shut down. This is a serious issue to occur on a relatively new vehicle.

I barely got it onto the shoulder before it completely shut off and would not move. Had to get it towed to nearest dealership 60 miles away. No answers left and now we are stranded. We could have been killed. No warning signs.

We purchased a 2022 Pacifica hybrid in Feb of 2024 that is still under full factory warranty. We had the vehicle serviced once for a/c issues and it's regularly scheduled 30k mile service in April and may. [xxx] our van had a. Catastrophic failure in texas, where it has remained since June 1st. The deep cycle hybrid battery overheated, making it inoperable. They have replaced the deep cycle hybrid battery twice-those batteries run 15-16k$, plus the additional parts and labor. Stellantis customer service promised rental reimbursement for the 2 vehicles we had to rent to continue our trip to arizona. Then they declined to reimburse for both. They also stated they would pay for rentals ongoing while our van was in texas and after we rented a van for two additional weeks, refused to pay for that. We requested a buyback at week 7 and that was denied. Two weeks ago, they stated the van was repaired and it sat in texas while the dealership argued with stellantis customer service about who was responsible for returning our van. Finally Chrysler agreed to ship it to us and while the area manager was driving the van to the loading point for the shipping company, it had the same catastrophic failure. Chrysler had it towed to a different dealership in texas and that dealership says they are going to start over and hopefully they can diagnose the issue fully, but they will have to replace the battery for a. 3rd time, totaling 4 batteries in 3 months or 64k$. . The vehicle purchase price was 42k$. We purchased extensive extended warranties. We put down 24,500$ in cash and trade. We have since found out that a dealer in new jersey put this car back on the market after they knew there was something wrong with it and made it someone else's problem. The selling dealership had no way of knowing the vehicle battery would overheat in the summer, as they purchased it from auction in November and sold it to us in Feb. I was driving on highway, speed was about 70mph. All the sudden the dashboard said “ stop safely vehicle will shut off soon”. Then the car start reducing the speed immediately no matter how hard I tried to accelerate. I stopped in the emergency lane. Shutdown the car. Then restart, I could drive about 30s to 60s, then the error came again. It occurred 6 times in total while I drove out the highway to a safety place in 2 miles.

Driving in residential area at 30mph and van turned off while moving. Message on dashboard said to push break and press to start. Vehicle put itself in park. No lights turned on. I heard a beep and felt engine shut off. Problem just happened and I haven't driven it since. Called auto shop and was advised to document I'd it happened again because they need a code or some evidence to give to techs.

Researched the issue and tried to drive to a dealership. Stayed in right lane and the issue happened a second time with the same message displaying and this time, I actually did lose propulsion, but was able to safely park on the shoulder again.

On three separate days (2/27, 3/18, 3/29), the vehicle has shown a message saying “stop safely, vehicle will shut off soon”. The ability to accelerate is cut off. This has happened twice while on the highway, requiring a move across lanes to pull over safely due to loss of acceleration. After turning the car off, the car is able to turn back. The check engine light remains on for the next trip, but turns off on its own by the next day. This is a vehicle which was recently serviced for the following recalls: 1. Nhtsa 23v-010 (unexpected engine shut down) completed on 1/16 2. Fca campaign 47a (squealing serpentine belt) completed on 2/11.

4 incidents total (3 on the freeway, once just getting out of a parking area), accelerator won’t work and car makes a beep with the following message “stop safely, vehicle will shutoff soon” was able to pull to the side of the freeway turn off and on the car, lock it and unlock it; then I was able to drive again with the check engine light on. Took the car to Chrysler dealer on Monday but they said they didn’t see any faults. I was driving with my wife and kids and this was extremely dangerous. Stopping and getting out of the car on a freeway with car passing at 65+ miles per hour. I am concerned if my wife encounters the issue on the freeway and not pulling safely to the side, her or the kids can get into a terrible accident. Here are some dates and details: 3/28/24 stop safely vehicle will stop soon parked 3 days 3/31/24 engine line on 4-1-24 no lights; car serviced 6/1/2024 stop safely (just got in the car in thousand oaks after lunch ) 6/2/2024 twice on the freeway 6/3/2024 spoke with dealer, he transferred me to appointments; lady at appointments told me June 17 2024 is the nearest appointment.

I was driving on I-81 in virginia, speed limit is 70mph, a warning flashed in the screen: “stop safely, vehicle will shut off soon. ” the car immediately began decelerating, I pulled off the highway and restarted the car, but it would only drive very slowly (approx 15mph). After restarting two more times, it was able to drive normally. This is the second such incident, the car is under warranty. The first incident happened 12/28 and I brought the car to the dealer, Chrysler of culpepper, va. Their service department told me that they were unable to replicate the event after the first incident and it was likely just a computer glitch that has corrected itself. I have another service appointment scheduled, but they seem to be clueless on how to fix this incredibly dangerous problem.

On Aug 26th, 2023, I was driving on NJ turnpike. Under the speed limit of 65 mph. I was raining a bit and rain intensity picked up. I had both my hand on steering wheel. As I tap on the brakes a little bit to further slow down my vehicle, the brakes got locked and the vehicle started spinning and the went into the ditch divider between lanes. Fortunately nobody was hurt in the vehicle. It was a rental vehicle and I was driving it from 12th of August. I had driven that vehicle for about 12 days and I recollect that braking of that vehicle was always a bit odd. I've been driving for over 20 years and never had I ever had such braking experience. I thought it was atypical because I was not used to hybrid vehicle braking, but in hindsight their may have been more to it.

The vehicle warning said it would shut down and to pull over immediately (the "loss of motive power" issue known to these vehicles). The vehicle is available as it has been sitting at the dealership waiting for the transmission for four months. This occurred on 8/19/23 and as of today, 12/20/23, the transmission is yet to be replaced. I was driving on a 70mph highway with my two small children in the backseat. It was terrifying to lose power steering and the inability to accelerate. I had to pull over on the busy highway and turn off the van, wait a little bit, then turn it back on. I made it about another 1-2 miles when it did it again. I did the same thing, turned it off/on again, and then made it to the next exit to wait for a tow truck. Yes, this is the known transmission issue with the Pacifica hybrids made through Jan 2023. This was confirmed by the Chrysler dealership I had it towed to and inspected by then, there was no police or insurance report. It has not been test-driven or reproduced, to my knowledge, as they know what the issue is and have been waiting for four months to fix it. The dash displayed the known warning with this issue immediately when it happened the two times it occurred, there was no warning beforehand or any symptoms of any issue with the vehicle. The dash displayed "stop safely. Vehicle will shut off soon. ".

Was driving on freeway with my family, including my one year old baby and four year old daughter in the back, when a warning message came on dashboard stating "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" and van suddenly died in the middle of the freeway. Had to immediately cross multiple lanes and was terrified I was going to get hit by a big rig or other vehicle passing by. The safety of my family was absolutely put at risk. Contacted Chrysler dealership immediately but told they did not have any available appointments and could not examine the van until Thursday, 07/21/2023. Took the van to local dealership on Thursday, 07/21/23. Next day received a call and was told that the transmission needs to be replaced. The van was new when we bought it in February 2022 and had less than 15k miles when this incident happened. Was told by dealership that it could be months before the van can be repaired and that no loaner cars were available but that I would be placed on a wait list for a loaner car. Instructed by dealer to contact Chrysler cares, which I did. Was assigned a case number by Chrysler cares and told that someone would get back to me within 48-72 business hours, but that in the meantime there was nothing that could be done about the fact that the one vehicle we rely on to transport our kids is in the shop.

I have submitted a report on this same vehicle following the initial incident on 5/12/23. I have not heard anything after I submitted this and would like to have some type of feedback. This report is an update on the vehicle with how it was handled at the dealership and company level. At this time our van is at a Chrysler dealership that is 3 hours away from where we live, as that is where the van broke down, and has been there for over two months. During this process we have verbally been told by the dealership that this is not the dealership's problem and it is a Chrysler problem. Chrysler has told us that they needed their engineers to investigate initially. After several weeks of us calling, they told us they were not able to fix it and were considering other options. Then, after having the van about one month they decided they needed to replace the hybrid generator/transimission. On 7/12/23 we became very pushy demanding information or we were going to get legal advice. At that time customer service told us that our vehicles information was confidential. On Friday 7/15/23 we were left a message that the van was ready and the dealership would contact us. On 7/18/23 we were left a message that stated they wanted to ensure we got the van and they wanted to close the case in two days. I am working on trying to get the dealership to ship the vehicle to us, as I do not have a vehicle to go get it. They have still given us no real information or assurances, paid for anything (rental vehicle for one week, hotel for one night, towing, etc). I am pretty sure that what happened is rare, but not knowing what it was and assuring they replaced a dysfunctional new part with another new part is not reassuring to us. I am not sure who reads this, what it does or whatever. I would like feedback, direction, advice, assistance of any kind. The whole incident was very scary and I would be surprised if it does not happen again, hopefully nothing bad happens.

Van stopped working on busy highway. No prior issues. No power steering, lights all flashing, van shaking, braking intermittent. Van rolling on shoulder of road, had to put on emergency brake. Family of six, one child with special needs. Over two hours to get roadside assistance. Tow truck operator had to have driver help to get on/off tow truck due to van switching in/out of gears. Dealer service department claiming no responsibility and no assistance and passing onto Chrysler. Chrysler said it was not the recall possibly the hybrid transmission shutting down and the dealer will get to it when they can. It has been almost one month. We are driving two cars everywhere, paying loan for the van still, we had a rental, but gave it back because they said they could not guarantee payment. We are really feeling at a loss. We are not sure it would be safe to take on the highway again or if it would be worth it due to the issues we have had following this incident. Please assist and/or advise if able.

While driving on a freeway at about 70mph, the "stop safely vehicle will shut off soon" warning message displayed. Additionally on the dashboard, the brake (red warning light), the yellow engine light, the red turtle light displayed. The car quickly lost power and speed was reduced to about 40 mph. Within about 1/2 of a mile the car continued to slow down and we were able to coast into a truck weight station. We turned off the car. We checked for anything visibly wrong. We did not see anything wrong. We restarted the car. The yellow engine light remained on. We drove to a parking lot, off the freeway. We had the car towed to the nearest Chrysler dealer in cloquet, mn. During the process to hookup the car, the "stop safely. . . " message again appeared. Quickly slowing down and stopping a car, on a freeway could have caused injury and/or death to my wife and me and possibly other drivers who were following us. If we had not found a safe place to coast to, the van could have become disabled in the traffic lanes. Additionally, we had just had the recall regarding the transmission short completed about 4 days earlier. I do have pictures of the dashboard messages. At this time, the dealer charged the hybrid batteries and cannot see any issues. I have call Chrysler customer service.

Our 22 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid stalled twice on the freeway on 4/11/203. We brought the van into the dealer and they updated the software based on the loss of motive power recall. Exactly one week later, the van stalls again twice on 4/18. The recall did not fix the issue.

The sliding driver side rear door malfunctioned - either a sensor did not go off, or the door did not register the sensor. My 4-year-old female child pressed the button to automatically open the sliding door, and attempted to climb in the vehicle as it was sliding open. She accidentally hit the button again as she entered, and the automatic sliding door began to close. Her head became trapped between the sliding door and the vehicle frame, and the door continued to attempt to shut, crushing her head. She screamed and I pressed the button again, and the door began to open, letting her loose. She was in significant pain and did not settle quickly; she has a large knot and bruising on her head where the automatic sliding door trapped her, and has a headache. The door should have registered that her body was in the way of closing, and additionally should have stopped and re-opened when it made contact with her head.

Vehicle had a sudden loss of engine power while at speed traveling on the highway. We were able to safely pull over, and after a few minutes restart the vehicle. After additional driving we encountered the issue again, at speed on the hoghway, however the vehicle did not shut down properly and would not start after repeated attempts. The vehicle would show the ignition was on 'run' however would either not allow shifting into gear, or upon shifting into gear immediately throw an error message on the dash stating to shift into park and restart the vehicle. I believe that this issue will not be fixed by a recall where the solution is advanced warning of an engine shutdown. We are fortunate to ha e had this happen when we were in a position to pull over safely as the speed of the vehicle plummeted unsafely after loss of engine power. This happened on Saturday March 11, the previous night the vehicle had been charged overnight. The loss of power was not experienced untill the hybrid battery charge had been depleted and the vehicle was running on the combustion engine.

The vehicle was running while I was drove in the freeway. Suddenly, the screen dash kept pop up an message" shift to p, push the bottom to restart" the "d" kept blinking. The vehicle was slowing down even I stepped in gas. I had to parked to emergency parking on highway immediate. Then I pushed the power bottom to turn off the car. Then cannot back on. After 2 - 3 hours, the tow truck came, he able to restart the car. The car end up tow to the dealership that located in pleasanton CA. But the dealership still have not to diagnose of my car since when the car been towed to their shop for 7 business day from now. No answer giving at all. Also never receive safety recall noticed by mail, by text or by email.

On 11/19/22, while driving to a family member's for thanksgiving week, we stopped to get gas and turned the vehicle off. When attempting to start, we received a "service charging system" error on the dash and the vehicle would not start. Fortunately after waiting several minutes we were able to get it started and made it to our destination. The next morning it did not start and we had it towed to the nearest dealer. The issue was reproduced at the dealer and they did some things to clear error codes, recalls, etc. And the vehicle started one day but then the issue reoccurred the next day. After three weeks they were able to upgrade the hybrid system software which seemed to do the trick. We picked up the vehicle and drove it home. Two weeks later on christmas day when we were leaving a family party the issue came back and we were not able to get it started. The next day 12/26/22, we had it towed to the nearest dealer where it is currently at as of this writing. When it was delivered to the dealer the issue was still present however they did not bring it in to service for a week and when they did the issue was not there. They are working to recreate the issue to try and diagnose. There were no warnings or error messages in advance of this issue occurring. Luckily this issue did not happen while driving as that would have put myself and family in a dangerous system. The fact that this issue has not been resolved and seems to occur randomly is a major concern. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle knowing that this can happen and leave us stranded or in an unsafe situation. We are currently working with the dealer with hopes of a solution but this is a serious issue.

I purchased this van brand new. On the day I picked up on a Saturday and very excited! Sunday I went to go out and it didn’t start! called the dealer on Monday and they sent out someone to jumpstart it and it wouldn’t start. It was towed to dealer and it was told it was the pcm that needed to replace. Work was done and it seemed fine. As I was driving on a trip from chicago to vegas with my grandchildren on two and a half day trip! the navigation system would shut down and reboot this has happen 5 times while driving. Making me lose my route. Then one day about two weeks ago it wouldn’t start or lock. After numerous times finally got it started but it wouldn’t lock so I and drove it to dealer. They hooked it up and could not find anything on the monitor. Then drove it back home and the same thing happened! so again I drove it to the dealer and again nothing showed up! this is very scary that it is happening and no explanation. The dealer says if we can’t recreate it then we don’t know what is going on! I need help on finding out why this is happening.

While driving on the freeway using adaptive cruise control, the display indicated that the adaptive cruise control was canceled. I did not cancel the adaptive cruise control. The vehicle decelerated and appeared to turn off completely. The gas peddle did not respond, I was unable to accelerate. The screen then displayed “push button to start”, as though the car was off. I was able to pull onto the shoulder of the freeway, toggle the car into park, and press the start button while pressing the break. Then, the screen display battery light and check engine light turned on. The display said automatic high beams disabled. The vehicle would not respond to pressing the start button while pressing the brake. Finally, I held the start button down while pressing the break for a long period of time. My seat moved back automatically like the car was turned off. I was then able to restart the car and drive to the nearest exit. This is a very dangerous problem that needs to be thoroughly investigated. I am fortunate I was able to get to the shoulder of the road without causing an accident. The vehicle is currently at the nearest dealership, we are awaiting news of the cause.

Cannot turn off climate control, cannot get fire tvs to work reliably, no dvd player like we ordered, uconnect and fire tvs cut out,cannot change radio stations on steering wheel or volume, onily works when it wants to. Problem is when your driving on freeway and its not working it causes you to fight with it and pull over shut off the van and restart this could cause a serious accident and with kids in the van im not ok with this. This sterted the day we got it , we ordered this van in December 2021 expecting it to be just like the 2021 and its not.

Equipment problem #43

Red turtle icon appears on dash with message “vehicle speed may be reduced” repeatedly. Check engine light has come on after about the tenth time seeing the red turtle appear then go away. Vehicle has has not lost any ability to drive normally once engine light came on. A week after engine light appeared the red turtle still coming on and off and vehicle will lose power when turtle icon is on. This is a danger to my family if this persists. I have 3 kids in booster/ car seats and to suddenly lose power could be catastrophic in certain situations. Equipment problem #44

On 2/24/2022, we were merging onto the highway when the van powered itself off. The engine light came on. We pulled over, got the van back on, and pulled back onto highway. Almost immediately, the van shut itself off again. On 2/25/2022, on the way to the dealership, the van once again powered itself off on the highway. After arrival to the dealership, the technician said he found a loose cable connecting to the transmission and apparently fixed it. On 3/2/2022, the van shut itself off yet again in the middle of an intersection. In each of these cases, we have been risking get hit by other vehicles. Had we not been able ?to pull off the highway in time, we could have been hit full speed while our van was completely shut off in the middle of the highway. When the van shuts itself off, it takes a while to be able to power it back on. There is no warning to when it will shut off.
