36 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2024

This is a new 2023 Chrysler Pacifica hybrid, it's only 1k miles and 1 month after the purchase, I experienced a sudden loss of power while driving in the afternoon on 6/20, there was a warning light that beeps and tells me I'm about to loss power. Fortunately I am still half mile away from freeway entrance, and I just stopped at a red light blocking vehicles behind me. . . . The car wouldn't start for a few minutes, and I finally get it to start after I open and close the door. The engine light has been on since the incident, and eventually went away the next day morning on 6/21, right before I dropped it off at dealership to get it checked. They read the code and confirmed it was transmission. The dealer told me they will know what to do by mid next week, and if a new transmission is needed it will be a few more weeks before it can be fixed. There was no loaner car, and Chrysler only gave me $40/day allowance for rental car which is not nearly enough to get any small car, let along a minivan.

37 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/31/2024

Dash displayed "no bus" at the range level along with every error message possible. All of a sudden it goes haywire. Can't tell what speed you're going, you can put gas to floor and no acceleration, power steering comes and goes, wipers turn on and off, let go of the brake and it accelerates on its own, you name it. Van will not shift in and out of gear and will not turn off even when holding down start button. We've taken it in three times second and third time was towed in, and now it's happening again. They can't find anything wrong with it (other than 60+ error codes). They reset the codes and then drive it and say it didn't happen to them so they have no answers. Third time taking it in they were able to reproduce the problem but don't have a definitive fix. Turning it on and off doesn't help, it happens each time at random points after turning back on (either immediately or a mile or two later). No idea the rhyme or reason as to when it happens that we can tell. I'm very glad it hasn't happened on the freeway! because it's really unsafe. Last drive before the tow the hazards didn't even work.

38 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/26/2024

On the afternoon of may 26, 2024, I received a warning "stop safely - vehicle will shut off soon". I pulled to the side of the road but was still in an active traffic lane in a traffic circle and cars had to stop and/or swerve to avoid hitting my car. If this had been at night my safety would have been even more greatly compromised. The engine promptly shut off and would not restart. I was towed to the nearest dealer which still has not diagnosed or repaired the car. This may be related to recall 23v-010 and the ongoing rq24004, of which the dealer had no knowledge. I took delivery of the car, a 2023 Pacifica plug in hybrid, on March 25th and it has less than 4000 miles on it.

39 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2024

We purchased a brand new car and we have driven just 778 miles. Below are the things happened suddenly while driving on highway on our long planned trip and it screwed up entire journey. 1. Instrument cluster suddenly shown the error “service charging system” in the middle of highway when I was driving in 70 mph speed and the vehicle started applying heavy breaks automatically and speed dropped down from 70mph to 25mph in 5-6 seconds. Engine light is on as well. I’m unable to accelerate. Somehow luckily I was able to pull the car to right shoulder. We were scared that we will be in an accident due to sudden brake. 2. I tried stopping the car and then starting. It shown the same error couple of times. 3. After couple of times, I tried to press brake and push on start button, the brake hit me back and I’m unable to press the brake at all. 4. Instrumentation cluster shown series of messages like below. . A) keyfob not detected in the car - we are still in the car and key fob is with us in the car b) hybrid system not working 5. After some time car wipers automatically started and wiping very slowly. It could be because the battery is low and we are shocked to see why the wipers are started though there is no rain and also the wipers control is in off position only. 6. We in the car are shell shocked and my pregnant wife is still in trauma even after a week thinking about the incident. After calling sos, the vehicle has been towed to nearest heritage cdjr dealer of harrisburg. But they are not ready to inspect the vehicle right away. We waited for 4 hours and then we had to take the rental vehicle to restart our journey. It's been a week and the car is still with the dealer. I along with my pregnant wife and 5 year old kid spent almost stranded for 8 hours during this entire drama. I have raised case with Chrysler as well. No update from the dealer service department though. This is a defect piece I received and I never wanted to drive again keeping life at risk.

41 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2024

Vehicle was purchased in February 2023, starting in January 2024 when vehicle was running and stopped, auto/start stop would engage but the entire vehicle would shut down and not restart. We would have to shift to park, turn off, remove foot from brake then wait 1-5 minutes to restart. Took the vehicle into rochester hills Chrysler Jeep Dodge and after several days of troubleshooting they replaced the steering module and claimed it was faulty. 24 hours after picking up the vehicle the same issue happened again. Took the vehicle back in annd they showed 15 different error codes that came up. Left the vehicle there for service and after a week of troubleshooting they were finally able to recreate the issue. They claim it was the rf transmitter in the tailgate causing the issue. If you are experiencing the same issues I recommend asking about the rf transmitter and steering module.

42 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/24/2023

The contact owns a 2023 Chrysler Pacifica. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 24v436000 (back over prevention) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact stated that the back over prevention camera displayed still images, with blackouts, or was inoperable. The failure had become more persistent and then became a constant failure. The contact had to restart the vehicle to regain functionality or correct the malfunction. While turning off and restarting the vehicle, the radio randomly activated without driver input. The contact believed that the failure had caused additional failures with other control panel functions such as, the radio, heating, and the a/c system failing to activate as needed. There were no warning lights illuminated. The dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 14,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

43 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2023

The power train system of our vehicle experienced a critical malfunction, as indicated by the "service charging system" error message and engine light on the dashboard, leading to a loss of power in the accelerator. We are willing to cooperate and make the vehicle available for inspection upon request. The abrupt loss of power in the accelerator at a high speed posed an immediate risk to the safety of my wife, two infants, and other road users, necessitating an emergency maneuver to coast to the side of the freeway. The dealer confirmed the error on oct 30, 2023, and attempted to rectify the issue. Unfortunately, their efforts were not successful, as the problem recurred on Nov 11, 2023, after the vehicle was returned to us. The vehicle has undergone inspections four times. The first inspection occurred at the dealer on oct 29, 2023. Subsequent inspections took place at the dealer on oct 30, 2023, Nov 6, 2023, and are scheduled for Nov 14, 2023. Despite these thorough inspections, the recurring issue has not been successfully resolved. We remain open to facilitating any further inspections required for a comprehensive investigation. The vehicle was bought brand new with 12 miles on the odometer at the dealer with an illuminated engine light on oct 29, 2023. Despite attempts to rectify the issue, the warning message persisted, and the incident on the freeway occurred on Nov 13, 2023. If you require any additional information or clarification, please do not hesitate to reach out. We expect urgent attention to this matter to ensure the safety of all Pacifica hybrid owners. Sincerely, ho fung.

44 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/27/2023

My air conditioner went out in my car three weeks after purchase. I took it to the dealership. They replace several parts and said that there was an electrical issue they ran into. They said they had to get approval from Chrysler engineering in order to replace the part. The car was in the dealership for over a month. Other findings state that the air-conditioning unit was low on freon. And several fuse arrays were not working properly. The car had apx 1600 miles on it when I had to take the car back to dealership for the ac issue . The dealership gave me back to my car after one month in the service department. On my way home. The car suddenly told me to get to a safe place as car was going to stop. I had to call law enforcement to move me out of an intersection, as well as called my roadside assistance to have it towed to the nearest dealership.

47 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2023

I have a 2023 Pacifica with around 3k miles. I purchased brand new. In the few months that I have owned the vehicle, it has turned off about 5 times while driving. It loses all power. Engine, power, etc completely dies. I need to restart the vehicle, wait for start-up, and then I can continue driving. The vehicle has currently been at arrigo sawgrass Chrysler since 07/13/2023. Arrigo continues to say "they can not duplicate the issue and it does not show on computers " I called Chrysler corporate for escalation. They told me that they have no record of the vehicle being in a repair shop until 07/25/2023. The bottom line is, this is a real problem. I have a 4-year-old, 2-year-old, and 2-month-old plus myself and my wife in the vehicle. What if this repeats and the car turns off in an intersection with a semi coming or worse? I understand the computer is not always accurate and it's a new vehicle. I do not feel safe if they return the vehicle without correcting the issue and do not want my family to be the test dummies for an issue that can be prevented. Chrysler is impossible to intervene and the dealership is only doing what they can. However, they don't get paid if they cant find issues so it's a tough situation. Thank you in advance.
