Power Steering Fluid problems of the 2004 Chrysler Pt Cruiser

Tl- the contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. The contact stated that while turning the steering wheel a grinding noise was present coming from the steering wheel. After starting the vehicle one morning the contact was unable to turn the steering wheel. Upon inspection the contact discovered that the power steering fluid had leaked out of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the power steering hose had made contact with the transmission and ruptured causing the power steering fluid to drain from the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure the failure mileage was 85,000. Jft.

The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and stated that the VIN was not included in the recall. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 68,000.
