I'm driving along, cruise set to 65. Ac on. Radio on. No sounds or weird feels from the car. Every light on the dash comes on. They went off after two seconds, with the seatbelt light being last to shut off. Then the car hits 113k miles about ten miles later and just. . . Shuts off. All gauges drop to zero. Ac shuts off. Radio still playing. Full tank of gas. Headlights still on, brakes worked, power steering worked, and emergency flashers worked. I managed to get out of traffic and pull over without causing an accident. I turn the radio off and turn the key off for a few minutes. It cranked right back up and ran a little rough for a moment before smoothing out. I drove home without incident, but kept the radio and cruise off. And stayed under 65. Thankfully, traffic was light. The car has not been fixed as of this posting, nor has it been seen by anyone due to the weekend. Unsure of when I can get it fixed due to finances, but if this happens in heavy traffic or on one of many roads with no shoulder, lives will be at risk.
Tl the contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. On several occasions, while driving various speeds, the vehicle stalled. After several attempts, the contact managed to restart the vehicle in neutral and in park. The vehicle was taken to gary miller Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram (located at 5746 peach st, millcreek township, PA 16509, (814) 868-3635) to be diagnosed, but the mechanic was unable to retrieve a fault code or duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 78,000. The VIN was not available.
Back hatch comes open randomly on its own. Sitting still while off or on, driving down the road it doesn't matter, it triggers to open randomly.
While driving with my headlights and fog lights on, using my turn signal turns off my headlight on that side until the turn signal shuts off. I have also seen this in a Chrysler 300, and a town and country. And, I have seen this in a chevy camaro and a vw. Something is seriously wrong here!!! the date is only because you need a date. It is frequent,.
The tipm (the computer that maintains the whole car) is bad and needs to be replaced in an almost 10 year old vehicle bought new in 2008 with only 25,000 miles on it. It is sending bad signals to the wipers so I cannot drive it in bad weather. Although thre is a powertrain for life warranty, Chrysler refuses to replace the tipm. I was driving in heavy morning traffic it was snowing and the wipers stuck in the middle of the car causing me to be unable to see posing a danger to myself and others. The car also stopped dead in traffic on me a couple of times and there was nothing wrong with the battery I took it to the shop and they found nothing.
Our Pt Cruiser has approx. 63,000 miles on it. As you're driving our car, all of a sudden all the engine lights come on and the gauges go down and the engine shuts off. When you pull over and restart the car it starts and this may happen again further down the road or may not happen again for a few weeks. This happens both on city streets and on the highway. This has been happening more and more frequently and for over a year. The last time I was in for maintenance it happened just as I pulled into the dealership, yet when the code scan was used no problems were indicated. This is extremely dangerous. Someone is going to get killed on the highway if that hasn't happened already. Since we have no other vehicle we must use this car. I have been asking online if any other cruiser owners are having this problem. There are many people having the same problem but no one has been forthcoming with a solution. I also noted some cruiser owners are talking about starting a class action suit against Chrysler. I really don't want to go that route if I don't have to. I just want my cruiser fixed.
While driving. All my warning gauges will come on and gauges flutter or drop to zero and engine might stall. This is happening numerous times and as all other complaints on this subject. No one can seem to find a problem. This is going to cause crashes. Chrysler had better take notice and have a re call on this. , afraid to drive my car.

The contact stated that he was able to coast to the shoulder and restart the vehicle and proceed to my resisdence. The contact drove the vehicle to the dealer and they stated not able to duplicate the issue. The VIN was not available. The manufacturer was notidfied. The approximate failure mileage was 50000. Am.
Totally integrated power module (tipm) is not turning on the low speed fan resulting in overheating of a/c coolant which in turn increases pressure in a/c system and total evacuation of system coolant, a real environmental problem. The increase in operating temperature also increases load on engine cooling system and threatens total engine failure.
I am frequently experiencing the following problem which includes the check engine light coming on, the car not wanted to accelerate, feeling like the car is going to stall while driving down the road. One time it did stall in traffic however, it started right back up. The check engine light does go out. I have taken it to several car places and no one has been able to diagnose the problem. This is a serious problem as I am afraid to drive the car. It has happened at varying speeds and weather conditions, from 20 - 60 miles per hour, local road to highways, warm days, cool days and everything in between. It is hard to predict when this will happen but is an issue that should be addressed before something serious happens and people are injured.
The multi function switch on the steering column just stops working. When this happens you lose head lights, tail lights, turn signals, windshield wipers, and windshield spray. The switch has been replaced twice now and the same problem keeps occurring. It either fails totally or works intermittently. You cannot drive the car at night or when it's raining - it's a major safety issue.
This car kept over heating and after having the thermostat water pump andd the entire fan unit replaced. Failing to find the source the head gasket blew.
Came out one day and the left front turn signal was glowing. Will not blank or turn off even with the engine off. All others work fine, but the left rear blanks a little faster. I have changed: bulbs, fuses, sockets on this left front, but did not work.
The gauges on my car heat up when the headlights are on. I had the bulbs taken out of the clock to see if that was the cause, but it doesn't help. The whole front dash heats up from the clock down to the gauges and get very, very hot. I am afraid there will be an electrical fire. Is there something that can be done without replacing the whole front console?.
2007 Pt Cruiser,55000 miles. Burst into intense flames while parked in front of a store. . Fire investigators declared that it was an electrical short that started fire. This car was totaled, product defect division of chysler responded thatt there is no Chrysler defect covered with their extended warranty or certified used car warranty. However fire marshall's report states that there was a defective wireing harness which caused the fire. If Chrysler is not responsible for defective wireing in their certified and guarantied cars, then who is?.
I bought a used 2007 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. I have paid $900+ for tightening the underneath of the car. The back windows do not go down and the hatchback lock will not open. I would like to know if some of the recalls were not taken care of or if these repairs are covered. Thank you. Problems were there when I bought it. , but I was unaware. Shifter is hard to get the button up to get the key out.
