The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Pt Cruiser. The contact stated that the oil light illuminated and when she checked the oil level there was no oil in the vehicle. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who diagnosed that the oil was pouring out of the crank shaft and that the engine was shaking and spinning, as a result the front seal was destroyed. The dealer also stated that the long engine block had to be replaced. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but did not offer any assistance. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure and current mileage was 47,000.

As a result, the seal on the engine is separating and causes oil to spill, which could lead to a fire. Upon acceleration between 0 and 30 mph there is a feel of the engine missing or the transmission/torque converter chattering. Have had the vehicle to the dealer two times and they advise there is nothing abnormal occurring in the vehicle that it is a characteristic problem in the vehicle.
