The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic. The technician diagnosed that the gear shift lever was lose and needed to be tighten. The vehicle was repaired but several years later the failure recurred. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 30,000. Pm.
