Electronic Stability Control problem #1

My check engine light goes off and on. Crankshaft and camshaft sensors were reading as the issue according to the odometer code system. . My car shuts off at anytime even while driving in the middle of the road. My battery terminal seems to be weak possibly having shortage moments from time to time. My vehichle will pull one way or the other. My breaks feel like there going to give out or are brand knew . My vehichle makes a noise as if the front cv axels or ball joints need to be greased. My wiring and engine is my main concern. My ac doesn't work my radiator seal has been replaced my car will make a guzzling noice due to the coolant . The list goes on. I bought my vehichle approx. 4months ago. The issues have progressed over the past month.

Electronic Stability Control problem #2

There was an electrical fire where the radio cup holders and the shifter. Car is undriveable due to the damage. My car was stationary at the time. The radio kept turn on and off. I heard cracking when I went into work. When I came out I say there was a whole lot of damage. I did get the car started and was able to get it home, but it's not drivable since the car died as I was pulling into my driveway. When I went to put it into park it was like park was not an option. Amd the car kept moving so I put the e break on.

Electronic Stability Control problem #3

More often than not, all the lights on dash illuminate when the car is first started, sometimes flashing on and then off when driving. If driving, sometimes the car will either accelerate or slow down. Because the speedometer goes back and forth, I have no idea how fast I'm going. If I slow down when approaching a red light or to make a turn, the car has cut off. Looking online, this appears to be a common problem of Pt Cruiser owners, yet I've never seen a recall. Diagnostics ran a few times and no reading shows up. Only told, it appears to be an electrical issue.

Electronic Stability Control problem #4

We are being treated in a very uncaring, racist, discriminatory way by the general manager dan hamrick 702-432-2401, at #lasvegas chapman Dodge #Chrysler @vegasdcj 3175 east sahara las vegas nv 89104. He has consistently refused to see us. He has never returned our calls. I was even threatened with great bodily harm by the service manager mike nicosia. I made a police report. We took our beautiful Pt Cruiser into las vegas #chapman Dodge Chrysler on 10-13-17 because the #engine light was staying on. They installed an expensive defective Chrysler #mopar totally integrated power module (tipm) and an expensive defective mopar Chrysler power train control module (pcm). Between 10-13-17 to 11-21-17 (approximately one month) I had to return my Chrysler for repairs five (5) times & they installed three (3) pcms & two (2) tipms which were no good!!! my car's engine light came on again on 12-11-17 and my car accelerated by itself, and we crashed!!! this was only nineteen (19) days after my car's very last visit to las vegas chapman #Dodge Chrysler on 11-21-17. Our car sustained great body damage. It cannot be driven. Thank father god no one was killed!!! we had no idea what happened until we read an article about Chrysler's defective totally integrated power modules problems titled Chrysler tipms causing power problems - updated October 15, 2016 Chryslerproblems. Com/trends/tipm/. Amazing!!! that article led us to similar articles. These are the receipt orders (work orders) in chronological order: #6463649-1, #6464576-1, #6465489-1, #6467298-1, #6467796-1. The problems were never repaired and my car cannot be driven. I am charged a total of $5,836. 75 for absolutely nothing!!! pease help me. Thank you.

Electronic Stability Control problem #5

Chrysler Pt Cruiser 70000 miles. Service done regularly. Changed battery for the first time 5 months ago. A few days before the radio was flickering off and on. Did think much of it until one day just before arriving home, the dashboard indicators all flickered off an on. Parked the vehicle, restarted, but the indicator light stays on. Vehicle is only driven less than 10 miles a day. Happens more often. Tipm module was replaced at dealer 5 years ago, when power windows were not working.

Electronic Stability Control problem #6

Takata recall- the car will at random times not change out of first gear. I can pull over sometimes and restart it multiple time and it would work. My windshield wipers also randomly come on now. And the thermometer sometimes will be blank and sometimes will say -12 when it is 90 degrees, and sometimes it is accurate. And sometimes it will light up saying I am in all gears, park, neutral, drive, reverse. It is very dangerous if I am on the interstate, or going up a hill and this happens I can't go over 35 miles per hour without taking a chance of blowing my engine.

Electronic Stability Control problem #7

Electrical wiring shorting out. While driving the car the electrical wiring will short out causing all the dashboard gauges to go haywire and the car loses all power and stalls out.

Electronic Stability Control problem #8

My car caught on fire.

Electronic Stability Control problem #9

I've had my Pt Cruiser for atleast 3 years now. Today as I was driving all the lights started going on and off on the dash board and was acting as if it were going to stall out. However , every time I hit the gas the mph gauge would go up. However my gauges on my dash board had stopped working until I'd hit the gas petal again. It did this for at least a few minutes I was on a busy road when it happened and was not able to pull off the road. I've been hearing a lot of rumors going on about Pt Cruisers losing power and locking up on people and bad things happening I think Chrysler needs to get on the ball and fix these issues with their vehicles since we are only the ones that buy them under faith of safety. I had this happen one other time when I first got it but I didn't think nothing of it. The issue seems to be happening more and more often. It's not even at 100,000 miles yet and I am having this many issues. This Pt Cruiser needs to be recalled! me or my children best not get hurt it this thing due to Chrysler's neglect on this issue. I've seen many people complain about this issue and nothing being done. Who has to die before it's resolved?!? I would've had pictures but the lights turned off and it went back to normal before I was able to take a snap shot or video of it. Because if I lose power again and it malfunctions and me or my kids get hurt when Chrysler has been notified and they don't do anything there will be a law suit. If I had known this issue would occur I would have never bought it, infact I'm still paying on it for another 2 yrs.

Electronic Stability Control problem #10

Can not go over 45-50 mph without check engine light coming on. Unable to stay in cruise control on highway at 70 mph more than 1/2 mile than it pops out of cruise completely and check engine comes on. Shakes when heat or air condition comes on. Steering wheel pushes to the right while driving.

Electronic Stability Control problem #11

Idling in park; seatbelt light kept dinging on; speedometer kept jumping back and forth from 0-100; idling at traffic stop; car shutters like it will cut off; speedometer jumps around while car is not moving. Pcm/tcm replaced multiple time; battery loses charge for no known reason; have had problems w/engine light coming on, pay for sensors and parts needed only for the same issue to happen. These cars are dangerous. There need to be a class action lawsuit before someone dies from these cars stalling with no ability to control car. Chrysler knows full well of these garbage cars. That is the real reason they discontinued them! someone needs ti step in. You all have received enough complaints where something should be done immediately.

Electronic Stability Control problem #12

Loses power then surges while driving. Like it is going to die then it suddenly surges and drives ok. It doesn't do it often, but it is scary when it does. Also, when it does this, my check engine light will come on? someone told me this could be related to the clutch. How can that be a clutch issue? can someone please tell me where to start looking for the problem? is being going for month's now. . .

Electronic Stability Control problem #13

Electrical dash board, gauges - rpm, gas, temp, go around up and down wildly causes sudden deceleration. All trouble lights come on, battery, seat belt, oil, air bag and go on then off. I had this happened 7 yrs ago and dealer would not repair until dash board was not working. Then dash board completely stopped working and dash board was replaced under warranty. Now it is acting up again. Reading all the complaints. There are over 10 complaints from all over the county about the same issue. Today I was able to finally take video/picture of the trouble lights coming on and off. The dials and lights were going on and off going all the way around and all the way back down again. There are so many complaints about this unsafe issue.

Electronic Stability Control problem #14

When driving on the dash board where it shows your mph below. All the lights will flash on engine, battery, oil, air bag, seatbelt, gas. All will flash on instant deceleration instant slow down. The dials will go up and down wild. Over 5 years ago this happened the dealer would only replace when the dash board stopped working completely. Finally it stopped working I had it replaced under extended warranty. 3 moths ago it started happening again. Flashing lights, all dials going up, down, and around. Yesterday I had severe deceleration on the freeway. Extremely scary and unsafe. I pulled all the way over and drove in the slow lane. Looking/reading on here there are 4 other people from all over the united states with the same complaints. I wrote a complaint on here over 4 years ago. There is something seriously wrong with this vehicle. It needs to be looked into from a outside party. There needs to be a recall before someone is driving on the freeway and the car completely stops. There needs to be a remedy at Chrysler expense.

Electronic Stability Control problem #15

Details of accident listed in police report. I was driving my2003 Chrysler Pt Cruiser when being chased by another vehicle in road rage which caused my car to get hit by another car which is listed in police report. My passeger and I received bodily damages sustaoned by these airbags my passenger was struck by an object that was intact with the airbag . . Laceration above left eye, broken eyesocket, broken nasal passage, fractured ribs passenger will need facial surgery due to airbag impacts seatbelts where worn at time of accident. I also have photos and hospital records of passengers injuries. Please contact mr. Arthur ingram or jacob patterson at number provided.

Electronic Stability Control problem #16

Tipm already replaced 1x for same issues occurring again now, a few years later and for at least the last 8 months from this posting, occurring more and more frequently now and last time occurring was Feb 01, 2016. All dash / engine status lights come on for no reason, then off seconds later, occurring anytime while engine is running. Engine stalls - sputtering, power steering and breaks fail to work properly during this time, fuel level gauge wildly fluctuates and smell of gas is noticeable, all causing a dangerous situation when at highway speeds. Head lights and interior lights randomly go bright or dim for a fraction of a second. Dealership unable to diagnose as it does not stay broke long enough for their techs to diagnose with their equipment even after having the car for 2 full days, despite this problem seen visually by dealer and on video recording. Suspect tipm / ecm, integrated voltage regulator is at fault. Extended warranty refuses to replace without a certified diagnosis by authorized repair shop. 2nd major problem with 4 engine mounts needing replacement several times, more than 10 mount replacements during life of my car, so far. 3rd major problem, transmission sometimes will not auto shift gears in a timely manor, taking up to 4 seconds to engage drive or other from park setting. I have the entire life of vehicle paperwork on all repairs and regular maintenance done for this car. Hoping there is a class action lawsuit I can get in on for this problem, seen reported numerous times on various forums like this dot site.

Electronic Stability Control problem #17

Driving at various speeds, all warning lights flash on and off, then all guages go up and down dramatically, the loss of power, car comes to stop but engine doesn't die. Turn off engine, then on then same thing 2-3 more x on way home. Dangerous. Due to faulty tipm made by Chrysler? this has happened 20 different days in last month, also battery dead once, engine cooling fan failed twice, rear taillights blew from electrical surges 3x, twice power window wouldn't go. Taken into shop two diff. Occasions but can't repeat problem so they can't fix it. Help! car was on highway several times and on 30-40 mph streets other times.

Electronic Stability Control problem #18

My tipm (totally integrated power module) is faulty. The headlights and turn signal lights do not work. Bulbs have been checked and replaced with brand new, tested and fully functional bulbs, but this has not rectified the problem. Sometimes the car will not start at all. The battery is fine, as the car engine will turn over, however, the car will not fire up. I will leave it, and try later, and the car will subsequently start. This starting trouble is an intermittent issue. I have read that there was a class action law suit for many Chrysler vehicles with tipm problems, but I did not see Pt Cruiser owners included within those actions. Having researched the matter, I see that many other Pt Cruiser owners like myself are having issues with their electrical systems as a result of faulty tipms.

Electronic Stability Control problem #19

Just like many other complaints on here, my vehicle starts acting crazy with lights flashing, and feels like it won't shift and go above 40mph. I brought the car to dealer and they replaced the ignition switch, and pcm. This cost me $1200. It stopped for a bit, then started again a month or two later when they told me it needed motor mounts and a new pcm (which they said they changed, but I don't believe it). It is now back there with the same problem and I'm now on the 4th day it's there and I'm getting no answers, just a bunch of sales people calling. If there have been multiple issues with this same problem why hasn't this vehicle been recalled? the vehicle is in motion when this happens and I have children this can be very dangerous for us and others on the road.

Electronic Stability Control problem #20

I was driving on the freeway when the engine light came on (which it never had before), and within less than a minute the car ceased up, lost power and died. I was able to make it to the side of the freeway as it started puttering before ceasing completely. This incident has happened at least four more times since original date. I had the motor tested at the auto body shop and the said the cam sensor needs checked but the engine is burning my oil up and since this happened and has had to have oil put in 3 times since then in order to make it run when it stops. Just last month I spent over 500. 00 replacing the radiator and power steering lines which I was informed was part of a recall on this vehicle but was not covered since it didn't apply to my VIN #. I am scared because I have children I drive with and because I cannot afford to keep repairing this vehicle, which is my only means of transportation. The vehicle was paid for in cash in full and has no recourse from the dealer or so I was told.

Electronic Stability Control problem #21

At 9 o'clock a. M. I was driving to the hospital to pick my girlfriend up everything was working fine but when I was leaving the hospital with her the gauges were going crazy so my girlfriend told me to go to auto advance to have my car checked out. On my way to auto advance the gage were going crazy again and the car shut thank god the car started up again. The a guy at auto advance checked the battery and the posts. He said that the battery and the posts are fine. So he ran a test on my car and said no codes are showing up. I don't know what's going on.

Electronic Stability Control problem #22

My pt cruser when driving it all gages shut down the come right back on car is still running and its not safe to drive with not being to tell how fast your going some times it dose it 3 times some times it gose off 40 times.

Electronic Stability Control problem #23

Electronic Stability Control problem #24

I keep going down the road and lights come on the dash and motor cuts off with no warning almost got re-ended with my three, 3, children on board. How can I stop this from happening every 10 miles that I drive. I have to pull over and disconnect the battery in order for it to regain its composure. Have taken it to many mechanics and even an electrical place and none of them can figure out the problem . If anyone figures out this problem please post before someone get hurt or killed I drive in a major city and on the interstates and it has happened to me on the interstate and I have had to pull over to the side to try to get out of the way please someone help I cant afford to go out and purchase another vehicle.

Electronic Stability Control problem #25

I got the in January 2014 and I only had it for two weeks and shad to go in the shop and I told them that I was diagnosis with lung cancer and I have to get back and forward to my treatments and I need a reliable car and while I was driving it the tire rod went the first time then the other side of the tire rod went now it's the electricity system is acting it and since I had this car it been in the shop every month and it don't make sens that I have to pay a car note and pay to fits it too I have miss a lots of treatments will all please help me because I hear everybody talk about helping cancer survivors but only thing that I see is I am been hurt first it's my car now the city is trying to take my house that my mother left me please help me also you can contact me at (414) 510-3687.

Electronic Stability Control problem #26

In jan14 my car wouldn't start, took to the dealer. April11 it took it back to dealer because it took 4 times to start the car. When started, while driving the elec panel lights wld randomly flicker, eng light often. Jul14 car back at dealer, all panel lights wld flicker while driving, car wld accelerate while driving and sounding like in wrong gear at 35mph, didn't get car back until aug08. One hour later, returned car to dealer car still accelerated while trying to stop at a four way intersection. Got car back 2 days later. Car accelerated on aug28, cut off while driving 30mph, dash lit up, gas gauge went full to empty, car launched forward and then started on its own again, this happened twice. Took car to dealer on aug29 and still have no car!!!! today is sept 11th. Each time the dealer would state nothing is wrong and no signs of anything. They would not listen nor record anything I told them on the paperwork, they continued to ignore everything I said. I have paid a lot of money to get the car fixed and it was not until this last time that I finally got a loaner to drive (two door fiat). A case manager from auburn hill, mi at the headquarters has contacted me, but still nothing has been done!!!!!!!!!!! now the dealer wants me to test drive the car with them, though I told them that it randomly happens. They continuously act like there is no problem, though I have found numerous complaints online regarding the same thing. Something needs to be done ASAP before people get seriously injured and/or lives lost. This is something that can not be swept under the rug. As a retired assembly line worker of car parts I find it interesting how my case and others have been handled. The lack of concern, accountability, follow through and resolution is done poorly.

Electronic Stability Control problem #27

Abs and stability control lamps illuminated, for the next week, the fault was intermittent. Workshop checked out fault, couldn't find fault with wheel sensors and couldn't reset fault. Developed into multiple instrument panel display indications, upto 10 flashing panel lights, and momentary power failure effecting all systems and engine. Internet including youtube states common problem not acknowledged by Chrysler. Some suggestions that ignition switch is fault but nothing certain. Car has only 37k miles so reluctant to start changing expensive electrical parts without guarantee of repair, I. E. Abs computer ecu, instrument pack etc. Looked at recent recall for gm, my Pt Cruiser cabriolet was manufactured in mexico in 2007. The parts involved in gm recall are delphi from mexico between 2005-7. Is this the same problem? please note I live in england, great britain so the zip and daytime phone number are from beverley hills! use 00447768911486 number which is uk cell phone, thanks, phil.

Electronic Stability Control problem #28

The first time in September 2013 the vehicle was running fine. I had gone into a store and when I came out it would not start. The lights on the panel were on but some were flashing on and off. I had it towed to my mechanics shop and they determined it was the battery and replaced it. Every once in a while lights on the panel will flash on and off but not for long. Last night 7/30/2014 I was driving, everything was fine and then all of a sudden all the panel lights were on and the vehicle just died. It was a good thing that I was in a shopping center and not on the road because at first the brakes wouldn't work. This is not safe. I can't afford to get another vehicle right now. We had to push it to safety and then I noticed there was some kind of code or something (no bus/5) at the bottom of the rpm section of the panel. Couldn't find anything in the manual about it, called an auto parts store and it didn't show up in their database, so I had a friend google it. Everything points to the electrical/computer system and fuses. Several people posted this issue with jeeps and Pt Cruisers.

Electronic Stability Control problem #29

I'm driving the car and all the dash lights instrument cluster lights come on & off blinking . All the hands like fuel hand and rpm start blinking up and down. It drops in speed. So I press on the gas. It comes back up but it guns the engine and starts jerking. Every time warning light comes on all the hands start blinking again and it drops in speed but this time it cuts off! in the middle of the highway! I coast to the side and crank the car again. The dash lights and all the hand gauges blinging but this time it didn't cut off. I purchased this vehicle on 2009! if I had known that pt's were faulty, I would never have bought it. This incident has happened numerous times since. Sometimes at higher speeds sometimes at lower speeds. Sometime just sitting parked it cuts off! from the research I've done since, there have been a lot of the same complaints about the pt. It's not safe! it's not safe when you're going 70 in heavy traffic and the car cuts off!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #30

Please help, this is my only car and my son and I depend on it for everything. While driving on the expressway my vehicle began missing ( shaking etc. . ) until it finally died on the expressway. It started when I pulled away from a stop light and began to pick up speed accelerating to blend in with traffic flow. I was not able to get over 40 mph. 1. The rpm gage jumps all over the place 2. The car quits while driving down the road 3. The quits while running in heavy traffic moving slow (more often on hot days) 4. Car dies at stop lights (random) 5. Car engine dies when trying to accelerate (random) 6. Car dies no response for seconds then it restarts at high speeds on the express way. I took it to an auto parts store that will diagnose problems with cars using a tool that they hook up to the car. They said it was the cam shaft sensor, my father contacted the local service station and they recommended replacing the timing chain as well. This problem has been on going since 2012, though I would love to sell it I would feel responsible if someone was killed because of this problem. I never know when the problem will start I have spent more money that I should trying to fix this. Is there someone who can help so my car will be safe for me and my son?.

Electronic Stability Control problem #31

In April 2012 my air conditioner started turning to warm air while waiting at a traffic light and acting as if it wanted to cut off. I took it to the dealer they couldn't find anything wrong. On August 6, 2012 I returned to the dealer with same problem, I was told there was a leak in the line, and if more problems bring it back. On August 8th the air conditioner not only turned warm the car cut off. As long as I'm running steady on the highway it works fine. I actually have to turn the air off at traffic lights or not run it at all around the city,I returned again to the dealer to no avail. I went on line to just answer today, Chrysler expert informing me that possibly the electric cooling fan needs replacing which is common in Pt Cruiser. I am concerned it will cause more problems to my car.

Electronic Stability Control problem #32

While driving at speed of 40 mph all lights on the console began blinking repeatedly, the tachometer and speedometer began going up and down, car began to rapidly decelerate and then died giving me just enough time to get off the side of the road before causing an accident. Turned off ignition and restarted the ignition car gave no indications of malfunction, drove home and have not drove since. If you google "pt cruiser console going crazy" you will see multiple other owners are having the same issue. This is not just a simple malfunction this is a danger to not only the owner but to others on the roadway. Chrysler should be checking into the issue, but instead after contacting them and letting them know others are experiencing the same issue, they told me "unfortunately, we are unable to provide technical assistance to diagnose the situation you have outlined in your email. . . If you have been working with an authorized dealership but the problem is not yet resolved, seeking a second opinion from a different dealer may be a viable option. " which I take to mean take it to a dealership, get charged an outrageous amount for them to see if they know what is wrong, if they still don't know after charging you $600 then take it to another dealership which may know more about our cars than we do. <br> this is an irresponsible, slipshoddy way to run a company. If we want to have a good reputation for cars then the companies that make them have to stand by them and not try to send their customers off to other dealerships after charging them an arm and a leg and still not knowing how to fix it. They should know their cars better than say a Honda dealership would. I hope other people have posted complaints so that Chrysler will fix this life threatening issue because going from 40 to 0 on a busy road is dangerous!.

Electronic Stability Control problem #33

I was entering highway and I stepped on the excelerator to the floor and the car would not go over 45mph and started to stall all lights on dashboard lit up and there was a semi truck going 70 mph comming from behind almost rear ended me I have now had to change 4 sensors in this vehical now just recently my husband had the same experience the car just shut off completly while he was driving. ,.
