- the contact stated that while driving on a secondary road the 05 Chrysler Pt Cruiser accelerated from 30 mph to 90 mph. The contact believed that the turbo on the vehicle engaged. The contact pressed on the brakes and kicked the accelerator pedal at the same time, once the vehicle started to decrease in speed he turned the vehicle off. He had the vehicle towed to a dealership. The failure and current mileage were both 23800.

The vehicle was pushed off the road where a temporary repair was made by the contact. The vehicle was driven home and the repairs were made by the contact. The dealer has not been alerted.

I am writing to ask has there have been any reports of the 2002 Pt Cruiser having an acceleration problem? on 11/30/2005 as I was making a u-turn when my car accelerated at a high rate of speed that caused me to hit a curb and blew out my right front tire, it also left me in a disoriented state of mind. I had no control over that car until it hit the curb. Please at your earliest convenience can you let me know if there has been other reports of this.

I was driving 40 miles an hour and tried to swerve to miss an animal, lost control of the car and pressed on the brake pedal and the car continued accelerating.

When coming to a stop driver would press on the brakes and vehicle would accelerate.

When stopping and putting car into park it surges forward, which caused an accident/ injuries. *akthe engine was also reving at an extremely high speed and surging forward while in the park position. Consumer had to cut the engine to stop the forward motion of the vehicle. Because chyrsler could not duplicate the problem, they would not fix or replace the vehicle.

While driving vehicle, applied gas pedal and vehicle does not accelerate. Must coast to the side of the road,while vehicle struggles to keep running. When vehicle is turned off, it will not restart.

During the first 2 minutes of operation, the engine hesitates or misfires on acceleration. This occurs during hot or cold weather. When shifting into 4th gear, and accelerating under full throttle, the engine / front end shakes. These symptoms have been confirmed by a technician, but nothing shows up on theri electronic diagnostic system. As a result Chrysler refuses to try and remedy the problem.
