One problem related to speed control linkage has been reported for the 1996 Chrysler Sebring. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Accelerator stuck at 60 mph and it was due to a frayed cable. Chrysler dealer said that it happened to most of the Sebring conv. The current cable is discontinued from Chrysler and a new throttle body must be purchased for the new cable to be installed. Dealer said that a new aftermarket replacement cable would be unsafe due to its design and are forbidden to install anything but the new "safer" cable.
