Four problems related to front seat belt anchorage have been reported for the 1997 Chrysler Sebring. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Ratchet mechanism within the passenger side new designed seatbelt has failed, causing seatbelt to be inoperative. Seatbelt comes from the actual seat.
Front seat belts locked up required replacement. Mjs.
Passenger side seat belt is twisted in fabric and will not retract outward. Seat can't be occupied until fixed. Dealer was not notified. Consumer stated that driver's side belt was loose and does not fully retract. The vehicle had a recall on full throttle cable however, consumer did not mention if a problem still existed.
Consumer stated that driver and passenger side seatbelts in front would not release from the seat, seatbelts lock in place preventing driver and passenger from wearing seat belts, consumer is concerned that air bag will not function if in an accident. Dealer contacted. Nlm.
