Two problems related to interior rearview mirror have been reported for the 1998 Chrysler Sebring. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The original equipment automatic dimming rear view mirror became foggy and leaked a solvent that dissolved the plastic on the console mounted shift cover, the mirror was replaced and now after 2 years in service the replacement mirror is fogging. Chrysler corporation customerservice responds that it is out of warranty and that they have no obligation to replace it. I view this item as a safety concern. He only item available for this vehicle costs $300. 00 for the part and installation. S a safety item the rear view mirror should be functional throughout the lifetime of the vehicle.
