Front Seat Belt Anchorage problems of the 2000 Chrysler Sebring

Four problems related to front seat belt anchorage have been reported for the 2000 Chrysler Sebring. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Seat Belt Anchorage problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2005

The contact stated the seat belt came loose and broke off from the anchor of the vehicle. This occurred after putting the seat belt on, it occurred became loose and it broke in his hand. The dealership referred him to the manufacturer, but he was unable to contact the manufacturer. He felt that in an accident the seat belt would not properly restrain the occupant. There have been no repairs made to the vehicle.

2 Front Seat Belt Anchorage problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2005

The anchor cable for the driver's side seat belt has completely failed, evidently from some sort of metal fatigue, and the buckle on the anchor side is no longer connected to the vehicle.

3 Front Seat Belt Anchorage problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2005

2000 Chrysler Sebring convertible rear ended at a red light. Driver's seat belt anchorage completely fell apart, coming out of the side of the driver's seat resulting in a head injury.

4 Front Seat Belt Anchorage problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2000

Driver's seat belt will not retract properly, leaving occupant without any retraint if needed. Dealer notified, and is awaiting on part since the above incident date. . Consumers said that seat belt works but the one installed is a rear seat belt lies on a side of a seat back chewing and jams between seat back.
