1 Seats problem of the 2010 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 10/26/2022

The driver seat has a part that wears out and causes the power seat to move forward and backward on its slide track. Eventually the part will fail and the seat will slide right into the steering wheel which will impact the drivers chest. The power seat has two acme threaded rods that drive the seat rails forward/ backwards to allow driver to adjust the seat. The acme rods drive a custom screw block to allow the motion. When in static position only the screw block holds the seat and stops it from moving forward and backward. From what I can observe the acme rod is case hardened but the screw block is not. The screw block seems to wear out prematurely after four years. If left unaddressed the screw block could fail completely and allow the seat and passenger to hit the steering wheel while braking or in a front end collisdion.

8 Seats problem of the 2007 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 12/30/2014

Having continual issues with lights on dash flickering: 2 repairs completed in last 18 months and still broke. Cosmetically, the car is crappy since the day I bought it; paint flaking off, tire rims have pitted, inside door handles flaking off paint too, among a few others. However, my heated seats burning through is what has me very irate! I was driving and had two adult passengers with me. Both of us in the front had the heated seats turned on returning home from running errands in the city 45 miles away. My passenger is 8 months pregnant and I have low lumbar issues, so heated seats are always used. We had both complained that we found it weird that if we made quick stops during our running, when we got back into the car and turned the heated seats on, it felt warmer than usual. However, if we were somewhere for a longer period of time, the seats didn't get terribly hot right away. The car sat for 48 hours before it was time for me to pack up and head back to my own home, when I noticed what I thought to be a stain on my seat (from my daughters dog thinking he was going with me). After trying to clean it and nothing happening, I touched it with my finger tip, only to find that it was a burn spot. If that would have caught fire while driving, I could have crashed! I could have killed my pregnant passenger, her hubby and her unborn baby! since today is a holiday, you can bet that I will be calling the dealership first thing tomorrow. I am the first and only owner of this car.

9 Seats problem of the 2004 Chrysler Sebring

The car has heated front seats. The passenger seat began smoking. It was not on. The fire department was called.

10 Seats problem of the 2007 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

When my husband drives my car, he moves the seat back. When I drive my car, I move the seat forward. This action causes the airbag light on the dash to come on. When I move the electronically controlled seat forward/backward, the airbag light will "sometimes" go off. The NHTSA ref 07v240000 references a recall for the front seat track position sensor. I contacted Chrysler to see if my car is one that has been recalled. I'm told that it is not. I think it should be.

11 Seats problem of the 2004 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 04/17/2013

The seat warmers overheat. When driving, I smelled something burning. The seat warmers burned a quarter-size place in the passenger seat while my daughter was sitting in it. She got out of the car and I turned the seat warmers off, but there is a black mark in the center of the passenger seat and we can no longer use the seat warmer safely. Why hasn't the car model been recalled by Chrysler?.

12 Seats problem of the 2007 Chrysler Sebring

13 Seats problem of the 2004 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 02/14/2012

Passenger seat had been feeling warmer than usual for a couple months so kept the seat at heat level 3 instead of 5. It was ok for awhile but then burned a hole thru the seat as well as my jacket. Smelled the burning so I turned the seat off. Turning the seat off stopped the burning.

14 Seats problem of the 2004 Chrysler Sebring

The contact owns a 2004 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that while driving approximately 45 mph, he activated the front driver’s heated seat warmer and the seat became extremely hot. The contact stopped the vehicle and noticed that there was a burnt hole in the middle of the seat. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000.

15 Seats problem of the 2008 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 05/13/2011

Electric seat positioning guide bar slips forward when braking. This occurs for both driver and passenger seat. This is a safety issue.

16 Seats problem of the 2007 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 12/23/2010

My 2007 Chrysler Sebring (38000 miles) had a complete burn through on the fabric of the front drivers seat while the heated seat function was turned on. The burn through was about 12 inches long on the vertical back part of the seat. This could have burned me or (shocked me?). Shouldn't there have been a fuse that would have blown or some other safety feature to keep this heating element from continuing to burn through? I called my local Chrysler dealership and since my warranty ran out in April, they wouldn't even look at the car unless I gave them $89. 00. This incident happened on 12/23/10. This whole burn through on the seat happened while the car was turned off!.

21 Seats problem of the 1996 Chrysler Sebring

Failure Date: 05/01/1997

I've went to sevral dealers about the problem including the dealer ship I bought it from. They all say I have to pay for the problem since ther is no recall on the item. What has happened since the problem started is my driver and passenger seat have rusted to the point that they appear brown. Now I know that if they have rusted to that degree then the body underneath must be in the same shape . I know if the body under the seats gives out while driving then some one "Chrysler" is geting sued. I just want the problem fixed although ive been complaning about it for two years . Thank you for your time and please contact me over this subject signed mr. Pointer.
