Two problems related to conventional parking brake have been reported for the 1997 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Parking brake foot operated pedal rachet stripped gear and willl can no longer be relied upon to hold vechicle on slopes. As van is parked in garage and mostly level ground the parking brake gets very little use it would seem that the failure is premature for the mileage on the vehicle.
Automatic adjuster on the emergency parking brake does not hold intermittently, causing the vehicle to roll.
