Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Chrysler town and country. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system). However, the part to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Tw.
I started hearing a clicking noise on turning steering wheel on the 1999 Chrysler Town & Country. Dealer inspected it and stated that clockspring malfunctioned and it needed to be replaced under lifetime warranty. On the day of scheduled repair stated that air bags malfunctioned, should start before they will replace clockspring. I am now intermittently hearing a chime sound on turning the wheel. I am worried about safety of vehicle and risk of injuries in view of potential airbag malfunction. I think that Chrysler' s approach to this problem is putting mine and my family's life at risk.
Recall 04v480000/air bag clock spring: since this recall repair was made the horn continuously goes off while driving.
Consumer received two recall letters from Chrysler concerning the clock spring. When he took vehicle to redlands auto center where the vehicle was purchased, they refused to service vehicle. Recall repairs were not performed.

Horn, cruise control, steering wheel stereo controls & air bag not working. Possibly related to clockspring failure.
When driving at any speed air bag warning ligt appeared on the dashboard. Consumer took the vehicle to the dealership for inspection, an d mechanic was unable to duplicate the problem.
Air bag lamp lighted up in dashboard simultaneously losing horn and cruise control. Ar involved: Chrysler Town & Country lxi, 1999.
Submitting this complaint on behalf of my 80 yr. Old mother. 1999 Town & Country purchased new sept. 1999 now 40000 miles. Required repairs past 2 weeks. Airbag and horn $250, speedometer $135, cracked exhaust manifold cost to be determined. Airtconditioner $ to be determined est. To cost $1100. Our phone call to Chrysler customer service (800-426-6451) was a horrible experiece.
The consumers vehicle experienced symptoms of recall 02-v-293-000 which is related to the clockspring assembly. The recall stated that the clockspring assembly may have been wound incorrectly during the vehicle assembly process. No correction done; dealer refused to repair recalled part.
The clock spring failed.
Consumer stated that while driving and without warning the clock spring failed and caused a distraction to the consumer. Dealer notified. Ts.
The vehicle's cruise control and horn were inoperative. The dealer stated the problem was the clock spring. The vehicle VIN was not included in the recall.
1999 Chrysler Town & Country experienced mechanical failure. ** answer required***. The spring which held the latch for the tilt steering in place failed. The consumer had to push the latch forward to engage it because the spring would not into engagement. The consumer believed the tilt wheel latch may have been damaged or not re-assembled correctly when he had the recall repair done regarding the clockspring .
Horn does not blow unless hit very hard and in cold temps it will not blow at all. Dt.
