1 Tail Light problem

Failure Date: 08/15/2007

The contact owns a 2000 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the rear passenger tail lamp assembly failed twice. The contact stated that the meeting point of the bulb socket and brake lights were melting into the plastic. The vehicle was repaired. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The current and failure mileages were 125,000. Updated 11/16/bf the consumer stated the bulb inserted into a bayonet type base. The base was inserted into the lamp assembly. The matting contact on the lamp assembly overheated and melted into the plastic base of the lamp. The contacts were spiral metallic strips that normally reside on the surface plastic material. Updated 11/24/10.
