Clockspring has failed twice and replaced twice and is failing again now. Air bag, horn, cruise control and other components fail when clockspring fails. I feel this could be a potential life threatening situation if air bag fails in an accident because of clockspring failure.
Clock spring, no driver air bag. It seem to be an ongoing problem. Redesign it. 2001 Town & Country. Problem with windows also. Redesign it. Whats the problem with product. Ongoing problems!! thay are still making too much money on replacement parts. Do something!!.
The airbag disable light periodically comes on. It stays on from a few seconds to aseveral minutes.
Airbag disabled due to clock spring defect on 2001 Chrysler Town & Country ex minivan. There is a recall (recall # 04v480000 from NHTSA database) for same but slightly older vehicles. I believe the same problem exists in the 2001 year model as well.
Bag light continues to light up after repeated attempts to repair the problem. I am concerned for the safety of my family as I am informed that when the bag light is lit, the bag safety system is inoperable. A recall was issued by Chrysler for models with similar problems that does not extend to the 2001 Town & Country model.
2001 Chrysler town and country 3. 8 the cruise control, horn and air bag will not work. There have been thousands of recalls on this (clockspring wiring harness) prior to 2001 but Chrysler said it will not take care of mine because of the mileage (130000) and the year 2001 has no recalls.
2001 Chrysler town and country experiencing failures with steering, instrument panel, airbags, seat belt wiring harness and transmission. Consumer stated I've had nothing but serious problems with this vehicle since new. Eight front-end and steering failures, 6 instrument panel electronic failures, 4 air bag and seat wiring harness failures and now it seems, a serious transmission problem.
Consumer concerned about replacement of clock spring on 2001 Chrysler town and country. The consumer had the clockspring replaced and is requesting reimbursement, however his vehicle was not included in the recall.
Air bag fail light illuminated, horn failure, cruise control failure. Diagnosed as a failed clock-spring. Recalled on 1999 and 2000 Chrysler town and country but not on 2001.
Dealership replaced the clock spring at the consumer's expense of $100. 00. The cruise and horn was inoperative, the steering was hard to turn when the vehicle was first started and the passenger side middle seat handle had broken. The dealer replaced the steering hose.
Do to clockspring failure , many people could be hurt or killed because horn, & airbags no working. This is due to bad parts car buyer's shouldn't have to pay for replacement.
