Three problems related to tire sidewall have been reported for the 2001 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The contact owns a 2001 Chrysler town and country with tbc classic radial tires (tire size p215/70r15). While driving 65 mph he experienced a blow out on the sidewall of the stated that the driver side rear tire. He stated that the he also experienced a blow out on the driver side front tire. The tires were replaced. The current mileage was 75,100 and the failure mileage was 70,000. The tire size was p215/70r15 however; it was not included in drop-down menu.
While driving about 40 mph in the rain, right front tire lost air. Then, consumer found out that tire had experienced sidewall separation. Goodyear, integrady, 215/70r15, dot m634. Dot#m634c9wr.
Sudden unexpected blowout of right front tire at 70 mph on interstate 10 in texas. Immediate symptoms were drop of vehicle's right front, pulling of vehicle toward the right, and loud noise. Pulled to shoulder immediately after ensuring vehicle control, reducing speed, and avoiding adjacent traffic. Tread has completely separated from both sidewalls after 3,000 miles on oem equipment. No visible indication of puncture or other road hazard. Proper inflation observed before incident and after on each remaining tire, including full sized spare. Dot of all tires is m30d-erkx-5000. In possession of tread and both sidewalls as of 03/19/2001. Contacted Chrysler dealer who referred to tire manufacturer. Contacted tire mfg authorized representatives who offered typical retail shop answers such as "improper maintenance" or "you ran over something". Purchase date of vehicle is 01/31/2001 (approx 40 days of use). I have other information from the tires including paper barcode information if useful. (dot number: 30derkx500 tiresize: 215/65 r16).
