Radio/tape Cd Player problems of the 2002 Chrysler Town & Country

Three problems related to radio/tape cd player have been reported for the 2002 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2005

The consumer received the radio vent slot recall for his 2002 town and country. The consumer would like to know if there is an alternate solution to this problem which would address the source of the moisture from the a/c duct . The consumer stated he has replaced the factory radio with a high powered aftrmarket dvd/cd player.

2 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 02/21/2005

Recall campaign: 2002 Chrysler radio vent slots (code d48). The dealer refused to perform the recall 04v-531000 because an aftermarket radio was installed in the vehicle.

3 Radio/tape Cd Player problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2004

While driving at 65 mph consumer heard pop noise coming from the rear, and suddenly started smelling burning material. The smoke and heavy flames where coming from the right speaker. Vehicle was burned to the ground. Dealership and manufacturer were notified, and they stated we never heard such a thing. Driverside rear radio speaker caught fire and burnt vehicle to the ground.
