Two problems related to hatchback/liftgate lock have been reported for the 2003 Chrysler Town & Country. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Power liftgate failure. Unit will open with switch or key fob, unit will not close. Attempt to close manually and will not pull down. Pushed up and then liftgate released without notice. Personal injury or death could have resulted. Temperature outside was approx 35 to 40 degrees. Attempted several time over past few days with problem persisting. Dealer states that it is not under warranty and no recall exists.
Rear liftgate hatch opens on its own. There is no indication that liftgate opened when engine is on or off. Dealer has been contacted.
