1 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 07/09/2021

I went to turn on my headlights, and they didn't come on. All the other lights work. Parking, dash, tail, and the high beam indicator. But no headlights. Also l read that people complained about windshield washer' not working. I tried mine and they also didn't work. I see there is a recall on same problem with the 2005 - 2007 Chrysler town and country limited and they are under a recall. Mine is a 2004 t & country limited. It my mechanic has checked all the fuses and relay's and can't find anything wrong except for the lights and wind washers not working. I called my Chrysler dealership and they acted like they never heard of the problem. But that's o k with them because they don't have to drive a car without headlights.

2 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 06/14/2017

This time I was heading down with my family from one of the highest spots at yellowstone national park. My speed was about 45 mph and two lane road with lot of turns. No other traffic in front or behind me. I turned high beams on and there we go, headlights gone. I pulled quickly fog lights on to have some lights. No other options than continue to the next place where I could pull car to side of the road. When stopped I checked if knocking ecm works but it didn't, normally it does. I released four screws and pulled ecm out. Installed my spare ecm, no lights. I installed the old ecm module back and wiggled it and lights came on. I didn't check on the spot that would I have high beams. 1 hour later when we got to cottage we rented I wanted to know what happen this time when turning high beams on. Lights gone again. This time knocking ecm module helped. I tested high beam and low beams multiple times and no issues. Loosing head light have happen with this vehicle before however the issue is that it is intermittent. I haven't found any logic how to repeat it what makes it scary / uncomfortable.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/21/2005

My 2004 Chrysler Town & Country has been in the shop 4 times for the same problem. It was for a problem Chrysler has put a bulletin out on regarding malfunction indicator lamp illumination with diagnostic codes p0300-p0306 (spark plugs). The light has come on 4 different occasions during a 7 month period. Dealer replaced spark plugs all 4 times and reprogrammed the tran module. They are giving me the excuse that I am probably just getting defective spark plugs. I have had a computer in the car that I drove with and it showed nothing to them as they tell me. They say car isn't doing anything when they drive it. After 4th repair I have brought it back after driving only a few days telling them it still is not fixed, they say it doesn't do it for them and they can't do anything else unless the light comes on again. The car bucks, surges, transmission seems to mis, car has back fired going up hill, no power going up hills or inclines, car even loses power going 55 mph plus on highways, when light does finally come on car will not let you go over 10 miles per hour, feels like it is going to stall bucks and surges. The light has not come on again yet for the 5th time but it will eventually with the same codes for the spark plugs, and again I will bring it back to have it not fixed again , by them changing the spark plugs yet again. I also saw a bulletin on this site about a creak, tick, and pop sound in steering column which I asked dealer to check when it was brought in last visit, they said it was nothing, and did nothing about it, now I see other people obviously have same problem,, not fixed. I have no clue if this is a safety hazard and what, if anything, could happen . Sway bar was replaced for noise when going over bumps, and rear window motor was defective and replaced also on this car.

13 Electrical System problem

While driving on 3 separate occasions vehicle stalled. Then, vehicle lost power, and all the warning lights on the dashboard came on. Dealership reprogrammed the main computer twice. Vehicle is currently at dealership for the same failure.

Chrysler has discontinued backlighting of door light switches, power door switch, power mirror switch, headlamp switch, and low line window switches. During night time driving, it's very hard to locate these switches without distracting your driving ability. Took the van into dealer to have the lights re-activated (they are there), but service department couldn't enable them. (Chrysler has a bulletin on this, #08-018-02.
