1 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 09/05/2019

The cars alarm goes off and winshieild wipers and sqirts windsheild washer fluid when car is off and only way to make it stop is disconnecting the battery. Also when we were on tge expressway the windsheild wipers went off and the minivans brakes went on by themselves.

2 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 08/24/2019

Various odb codes involving tipm issues, which has now progressed to vehicle stalling while driving down the highway and city streets.

3 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 06/22/2019

While driving on the road the motor dies as if I turned it off, so of course it's difficult to steer. I managed to get off to the side of the road. I decided to put it in neutral and try to start it. It started and off I went. Several days later the same thing happened so as I was coasting along, I just put it in neutral and was able to continue on. This has happened periodically over the past few years. Also, awhile ago, I pulled into my parking place at work and just as I was getting ready to turn the ignition off, everything went wild, horn honking, alarm going off, both front and back windshield wipers going full bore with the washer fluid spraying out! this continued for several minutes even though the key was out of the ignition! it finally stopped, all the washer fluid ran out! this has happened periodically over the past couple years. It happened a few months ago and wouldn't stop until we unhooked the battery. I'm told it is a faulty power module! that's crazy, never in my life has anything like this hypo me with a vehicle! I think Chrysler should stand behind this faulty part. It could have caused me to have an accident but luckily has not! can't really afford a new part or vehicle!.

4 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2019

While driving the van the windshield wipers came on, instrument panel lights began to flash, doors locked and unlocked and the engine lost power. The alarm system went off and could not be turned off. This has happened several times when driving and all the power is lost to the power steering, engine and lights. It is a very dangerous situation as it can happen on the freeway as well as on a city street. We have been stranded so many times and have fears to drive this van anywhere! we were stranded in seattle on a city street and had to wait two hours for a tow truck to tow it to the nearest dealer there. When it arrived at the dealer it was late afternoon and the mechanic agreed that the systems were not 'communicating' with each other but he would check it out in the morning. . . By the morning, the van was not doing it's craziness and the mechanic said he could find nothing wrong with it! we have had the local dealer check it out and they cannot seem to find the problem, but obviously there is a problem. Why can't Chrysler figure this out? it is dangerous and scary and our beloved van is no longer reliable transportation for our family. Nhtsa. . . . There have been so many complaints about this problem. . . It needs to be addressed and, yes, it is a safety issue, big time! we need your help to get Chrysler to figure out what is going on with these vans. It is as if they are 'possessed by the devil' help us please! what else can we do?.

5 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 01/31/2019

While in motion on a city street the vehicle's engine, power steering, and brakes shut down. Luckily no accident, but had to come to a stop on city street while travelling with traffic to restart vehicle. Electrical system appeared to be operating but had to use manual power to steer and stop the vehicle - no power from engine. This has happened about 6 or 7 times, but three times in past week.

6 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2018

The van will shut off while driving on the road the steering and brakes didn't work, I have to make sure I make it to the side of the road because it doesn't always want to start. It could be 5 or 10 minutes before I get it to start and I have had to leave it on the side of the road over night until the next day and have a tow truck pick it up. . I could of been killed or killed someone else. The horn, windshield wipers and window wiper water is spraying, flash lights flashing randomly go on at any time some times while I'm driving, some times late at night and the only way to stop all of this is to disconnect the battery or let it keep going until the battery drains. The speedometer goes on when I open the door but when I turn the vehicle on the speedometer goes off/blank. This scares me I'm afraid to drive it!.

7 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 06/25/2018

On 6/25, while driving down the highway I experienced some type of a power surge. The car started bucking, the a/c went off the horn started going off, the wipers started going off, the engine started revving. I was able to get off the parkway and pull into a parking lot. The things kept on happening until I turned the vehicle off. I tried to restart the vehicle, but it seemed like the vehicle was dead. Nothing worked. I had to have the vehicle towed to my house. On 6/27 I tried to start the vehicle and it srarted right up. I turned it off and tried to restart it, but again everything was dead. On 6/30 without doing anything the lights in the vehicle started flashing, the rear windshield washer started squirted washer fluid until it was empty, but the washer motor kept on operating. This lasted for about 20 minutes until it finally stopped. I attemptd to start the vehicle, but once again everything was dead. I was actually afraid while I was driving the vehicle, because of all the safety implications. When is a safety recall going to be issued? these problems could have deadly results.

8 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 12/13/2017

All four brake system lights are lite up. Steering has become loose and steering wheel wobbles. I have changed the pads on brakes 4 times in a year and my rotors are still very grooved. Dust is sucking up into the cab of the vehicle for no reason. There is a knocking coming from the engine that sometimes is there but most of the time its present was told by the dealer I bought from that was normal in these vans. Has a hard time coming to a stop now. I can not believe this has not been recalled codes on machine that are indicated are c2200 and c2205 which are ridiculous to buy and from what I have read everyone is having problems with them.

9 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 05/20/2017

The vehicle has an ongoing inability to start without any issues being found. The alternator was replaced, the battery was replaced, the radiator was repaired with the thought that was an issue. The doors open on their own, not just unlock but open. The stability control is always going on even after being repaired and repairing any possible causes. The incidents occur in both stationary and in motion the causes are still unknown.

10 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 03/13/2017

Clockspring causing electrical malfunction very similar to that in which was a recall on this same vehicles just a few years prior. Seat belt light flashes and dings even when seatbelts are locked while driving. Abs lights come on periodically while driving, vehicle gear shift locks while vehicle is in park running causing vehicle to have to be shut off before it will release. Cruise control malfunctions while driving. Done research to other owners of this vehicle style and others have complained of similar findings, however seems noone has contacted you yet. When these problems started they have been an ongoing issue daily.

11 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2017

When driving at 30 mph esp/ bas/abs & brake lights appear on the dash, then steering became difficult . We are so grateful it's not on the highway.

12 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 12/14/2016

There seems to be an issue with the clockspring mechanism in the steering column of the 2008 t&c vans. Mine went out and when the mechanic tried to get one from the local dealer he was told that it is backordered along with several hundred backordered. Obviously this is an issue that needs to be addressed as it affects many items.

13 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2016

My vehicle shuts off while driving making it very dangerous. The ignition switch clicks and the van shuts down at the same time consequence: if the ignition key inadvertently moves into the off or accessory position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. This is what I found out to be the issue in most cases. There was a recall back on June 2014; they fix that problem in my vehicle on June 2015; now is back again; they say there is no recall on this problem, but it continues resurfacing. This problem happened four ( 4 ) time in the month of November 2016 already during driving time ( vehicle in motion); also some times won't even start right away; back in 2014 it was call: recall campaign id 14v373000 dated June 26, 2014. Could be recall l25 or r03. Not sure which one is the correct, they have told me r03.

14 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2016

While driving the vehicle the temperature, miles to the gallon, direction the car is facing goes dark. Then the warning lights, gas gauge, tachometer, speed flash on & off and the vehicle will try to stall or turn off. While the warning lights are flashing the vehicle feels like it is cutting out and will die out. I have several videos of it happening.

15 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2016

While driving my car shuts off in the middle of driving wipers starts flashing dash board goes hey wire check engine light comes on and its very hard to steer and wont start. Then after a few hours it might star back up or days later.

16 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2016

Windshield wipers, horn, washer fluid, and lights inside and outside of vehicle randomly go off and wont stop unless the battery is disconnected. This will also cause the car to start on its own and wont turn off if already running. Took to a mechanic and they said it was the clock spring but it only lasted for a couple of months and is now doing the same thing. Check engine light came on and is showing again a problem with the ecm. I have looked online and there are hundreds of other people reporting the same problem with no explanation from Chrysler and no recall issued.

17 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 01/20/2016

While I was driving on the on-ramp to a highway my car hit a bump and lost control and I started sliding. Thankfully there happened to be no one coming. I noticed that when my van stopped halfway in a ditch and halfway on the left lane I went to move my vehicle it wouldn't move so I then noticed it was off but still in drive and the key was still on. So I put it in park and shut it off then turned it back on then was able to proceed driving but since then my esp/bas, and traction control light have been on. After having that happened I had the recall on my van fixed. Well the lights are still there and now the driving is worse. I cant control my steering and they say it is my steering angle sensor. They also say my catalytic converter needs fixed and a pcm flash. Which I don't understand how all these problems started since my ignition unwillingly shut off. I am thinking that caused a power surge, and now its going to cost me $2000 to fix it if not more. My problems now are: 1) misfire in cylinder 4 2) rough idle 3) accelerating slowly while rpm's are above 3000 4) stumbling while driving (shakes or vibrates really bad while in drive/ or putters) 5) esp/bas, traction control, and check engine light illuminated on dash 6) steering wheel shakes from left to right on its own 7) loud engine noise 8) motor shakes 9) abs reader says to replace steering angle sensor (clockspring) 10) there is more I just cannot think of it right now. This is currently what I have fixed in the last two weeks to see if it helps the problem. 1) oil change (always up to date) 2) spark plugs 3) spark plug wires 4) battery 5) ignition coil pack 6) upstream O2 sensor 7) recall done on win module ignition switch fobik key I have contacted Chrysler to inform them of this and they tell me there is nothing they can do about it and its not a manufacture defect.

18 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2016

Have been trying for over 6 months to get ignition recall ro3 replaced . Dealer claims never to get parts from Chrysler, I am still number 21 on waiting least and dealer gets 1 replacement part every 6 weeks.

19 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2015

Warning light comes on while driving. Will usually turn off after rebooting.

20 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2015

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact received a recall notification for NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical system stability control) and stated that the part needed was unavailable to perform the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Parts distribution disconnect.

21 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2015

The car didnt start. I have had the starter abd battery replced within the past year. Each have been tested multiple time because this isnt and isolated incident. I go to turn the car on I have hed the fobik replaced but the problem still exists. The car eventually started after an hour.

22 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2015

I made an appointment for the recall to be fixed. The dealer called me the night before and said the part was used for another customer. I made the second appointment for June 26, 2015. The dealer called the day before and confirmed. I got to the dealer at 8:10am. At 9:15am a sales associate came out and told me that the part was not there. I wasted my time and am very disappointed!! I do not have anything positive to say about Chrysler. Their customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with as a consumer. This is one week later and not even the manager has called me. I will never ever purchase with Chrysler again!!.

23 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2015

I bought a second hand 2008 chryshler van town and country it stop at any time while driving dealer didn t send the recall only mention the air bag but the problem is more than that transmission is affected it won t shift changing speed.

24 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 02/01/2015

The van randomly shuts off while driving down the road. The dash lights come on , sometimes the windshield wipers come on and the van loses all power. It makes it incredibly hard to steer and navigate safely. This has happened numerous times and at different speeds. It has happened on the highway at 60 mph as well as a main street going 25 mph.

25 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2015

The vehicle electrical system failed while the car was in use. There was no power to any system in the car except the rear wiper kept goinjg even after the engine key was removed. Lights would randomly come on and off while the car was off until the battery ran down. The dealer said the tipm or (totally integrated power module) failed. I was lucky me or my family was not injured over this failure.

26 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 08/02/2014

The problems I experienced included: 1. Car stopping while driving 2. Ignition sticks and turns for extended period, then starts 3. Ignition does not start, just clicks, the starts after several tries. I put in new starter for $400 that did not fix it. Chrysler recommended replacement of the win module at my cost of $800 to fix this problem. Said repair should fix all of this issues. They said it was warranty repair and to send in payment receipts for reimbursement. It appears that this was a recall from 2011 under the same l25. This repair was done on 8/22/2014 and did not fix the problem. Have not been reimbursed. Chrysler then acknowledged another updated l25 recall and that the fix will permanently repair van and fix all issues. They sent official recall notice undated but received by me on 9/15/2014. Parts to permanently fix this defect are unavailable currently. I have not driven the vehicle since 9/5/2014 because I do not feel safe in it, as it has stopped on the road previously. The letter states that vehicle may stop, increasing the risk of crash and injury, but that I should go ahead and drive it anyways. What!! as a responsible and safe person, I choose not to drive this rather than take the risk. How can you issue recall but not have the parts to fix it? they do not even have a time frame. How can I expedite recall repairs? what legal recourse do I have? I don't want this car anymore. Will it be safe even when they finally get the proper parts and repair it? I am very upset with this issue, as well as the loss of use of my vehicle for an extended time, inconvenience, mental distress, and additional costs. This is totally irresponsible and lacking in care by Chrysler. This is the same problem gm had with many injuries and deaths. How many people must get hurt or die? I will not buy another product from them.

27 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 07/12/2014

Four lights on dash came on - abs, traction control, esp and brake lights code is c 2200 code is for the abs module lights remain on I feel this is a safety problem and should be Chrysler's job to fix on second day I had to get hard on the brakes to avoid someone who turned in front of me and I flat spotted the tires which were only 7 days old.

28 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2014

Coasting or in a decelercation situation the cars stalls without warning, radio still on, the only notice that the engine has stalled is loss of power steering, the only light that comes on is the traction control light. This has happened over 20 times. Have taken to the dealer no less than 6 times but no codes set and unable to diagnose the problem.

29 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 06/08/2014

June 8 & 9 car was locked and going into store and was away from car. Horns went solid, both wipers went high speed. Windshield washer spayed, lights flashing, security alarm started. Tried remote buttons and finally stopped. June 12, car sitting in drive unlocked for a couple hours. Open door to lock the car. The horn went on solid, wipers both front and back went high speed, lights flashing. Tried to take keys and turn on the car and nothing. Intermittent door locks and unlocks. Soon the horn changed pitches and acted like security alarm on,. Wiper fluid started running. Tried remote but did stop. Fan was running on condenser. Finally unhooked battery to stop.

30 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 03/14/2014

While I am driving my 2008 Chrysler town and country it shuts off without warning. When this happens I am usually driving less than 35mph but it is very difficult to control the van due to a loss of power steering, electric, and gas control. I usually have to apply the brake, shift it in neutral, and wait for the engine to restart (which sometimes stalls for a few seconds). This is very concerning to me as a parent with 3 children who usually travel with me and it happens frequently--so far up to 6 times in 1 day.

31 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 09/12/2012

1. While driving the esp indicator light and engine comes on and wheels automatically go into slow mode (as if I were on ice). I manually shut off button. Took it to dealer and said the coil in my steering module is bad, needs replacing. I complained of van having hard shifting in accel and decel. Fault code c1210-steering angle sensor 2. The engine light reports that I have a bad egr valve, needs replacing. Found code p1404 & code p0404.

32 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2012

Along with the hundreds of complaints, I too have a problem with horn, lighting, wipers and fluid, car running with no key in ignition etc. While out of town the car had these happen and brought to a certified Chrysler shop. They diagnosed as a bad battery connection after a mechanic driving to his home and back. I was sent on my way after paying $100. Not a large amount but silly when you have to bring the car to my local shop for the same problem three days later. This time it happened while driving at night in the middle of the road. I am appalled by how many complaints have been filed and there has not been a recall on this could be fatal defective part that is shutting down a car with no warning while driving. What do 90% of Mini van drivers have in common? children!!! how unsafe and absurd. Fyi my car is going to be fixed under an extended warranty but this is a major safety concern for anyone that drives a Chrysler van.

33 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2012

During the past three months all of a sudden the horn starts blowing erratically, the windshield washers and wipers activate, lights start flashing, the doors lock automatically and the transmission will not shift into high. This has happened five or six times since Aug. , having occurred four times in the past three weeks. It happens while the car is running and while it is not. With each incident the symptoms become worse and the duration is longer. Last week, I had to pull off the road and wait five or ten minutes for it to stop as I could not see where I was going. Yesterday, it occurred while sitting in the garage and I had to disconnect the battery to stop it. The Chrysler dealer says it is the total integrated power module that needs to be replaced @$524. 12. Additionally now at 54,000 miles the front rotors are warped and need to be replaced @ $409. They had to be replaced @ 25,834 and 35,272. When the brakes are applied the front end and steering vibrate uncontrollably. Both conditions are safety issues, have been well document by hundreds of people, and are obvious inherent defects in the vehicle, and should be issues that result in a recall of these vehicles and repairs or replacements made at Chrysler's expense, yet they continue to deny there is an inherent problem. Both issues could result in a serious accident.

34 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 04/28/2012

My tipm module needs to be replaced but since there is a national shortage for this part. I like thousands of others have to wait 6-9 months before there will be any available. This part has been on back order for a very long time. Chrysler is very lucky that no one has been seriously hurt.

35 Electronic Stability Control problem

Failure Date: 04/17/2012

I bought a brand new 2008 town and country in Dec. 2007. For four years it didn't have a problem except for the whirring sound. This problem of tipm probably appeared about two years ago when the van suddenly overheated along the freeway while driving just about 12 miles from my home. The service center said that there was a leaking hose in the cooling system but I told them that prior to that the wiper just started to move without turning it on. The service center apparently fixed it. But the same thing has been happening on and off. All the service center can say is it is drivable. About two months ago it overheated again, and my wife who was using the car had it towed to the Chrysler service center close to where the car stalled. That is the carpros in renton, washington, who said that the problem again was the coolant system hose that was leaking, also something about the timing belt that needed to be changed, the cylinder head gasket that needed to be changed. While I have an extended warranty they were charging too much so I had it towed to the service center where I bought the car. This service center fixed the cylinder head, got the car back but still it has the same problem of windshield turning on, lights going on and off in the instrument panel, dinging sound going on and off even while driving, driver seat rocking back and forth. I sent it back to the service center where I bought it from and this time they finally said that it is the tipm that is causing the problem. They told me that the electronic board was changed totally and was reprogrammed. But the following day, it still has the same problem.
